Married To A Kingpin

Rate this book
STANDALONE NOVEL!! Dayonna has everything going for her: she’s beautiful, has a loving fiancé and a fantastic career at the leading law firm in southeast Michigan. She’s got no worries…or so it seems. In reality, Dayonna is miserable. The only reason she still has a job is because her boss, Chance, doesn’t have the heart to fire her. Dupree, her fiancé, is heavily entrenched in the street life and doesn’t have time for her, but he does have time to chase ass in the streets. Luckily she has her beauty going for her, but she’s sick of playing the same game and coming up as the loser.
Plato Cisneros rules the streets of Detroit with an iron fist with his fiancé Cherise by his side. Lately Cherise has begun to disappear to places unknown, and once he discovers she’s sleeping with one of his trusted workers, he begins making plans to replace her. As a kingpin, he despises disloyalty, and the fact that Cherise does so without an ounce of remorse only pisses him off more.
Fate makes it possible for Dayonna and Plato to meet one night at Club Fetish, and it changes both of their lives for the better. However, when they decide to take their relationship beyond friends before completely cutting ties with their soon to be exes, is when things get interesting. Dupree and Cherise both wage their own personal war on the couple, and vow to be the last ones standing.
Smooth is a fast talking, ruthless kingpin hailing from the streets of Denver who, after attending the funeral of the aunt who raised him in Dayton, decided that he should control the drug trade on the streets of Ohio. This poses a problem for Plato, since his reach extends from Toledo to Cleveland as well, and his empire is continually growing. The two men wage war for ultimate control, and the winner gets to run the state as he sees fit. But is it truly about hood fame, or is there something else that constantly fans the flames between two street kings?
Behind Dayonna’s sweet exterior lurks a dark secret that no one knows about outside of her best friends since grade school. Santana, Jada and Jess all know Dayonna’s true character, and keep her alter-ego in check as she plays the role of unassuming good girl at Plato’s side. Will she be forced to reveal her truth once she’s backed into a corner, or does she find a way to keep it all under wraps?
Come along for the ride as Dayonna, Plato, Smooth, Dupree and Cherise take you through the mean streets of the D, down the road to Ohio’s hidden nightmares and across the Ambassador Bridge to Windsor as they discover what a woman is capable of when she’s married to a kingpin.

This book started off good until the 27% mark ,where it started to go downhill with all the inconsistencies .The storyline became so unrealistic and senseless I didn't want to proceed ,but I did and my rating is the result

Really good standalone. Held my attention from beginning to the end and what a ending. Full of drama, action, lies and so many secrets revealed. Dupree was definitely a snake and got exactly what he deserved as well as Cherise. Dayonna, she had me fooled. Her, Jada, Santana and Jess was to be played with and I loved their sisterhood. Plato didn't play at all when it came to his family. Loved him and Dayonna together...deadly together. Enjoyed the way it ended and all the brothers finally came together and everyone got their happy ending. Overall, I really enjoyed and highly recommend. Good job Fatima Munroe.

Married to Kingpin

This was a good book by a fairly new author to me. The plot & characters held my interest & I was able to finish it in one day. I loved the connection between Dayonna & her friends. Of coirse though, the story wouldnt be good without the jealousy & people attempting to"get even" because they felt betrayed or entitled to something. My favorite male character was definitely Plato...a true boss. Download this standalone & get ready...you will not be disappointed.

Awesome awesome

This book was the bomb. Dayonna was my girl in this one. She was fierce as hell. I loved the friendship and sisterhood she had with Jada, Jess, and Santana. Olympia definitely set her daughters' up for life though. Of course Plato is my new book bae. He treated Dayonna like a man should treat a lady like a queen. I loved how everything turned out in the end. It was just so peaceful and wonderful. Just one be happy family.

Dayonna was straight gangsta

This was a cool story. There was a lot of people who turn out to not be what you thought. But i like how it played out. I was totally shocked when i found out that Smooth was their brother that's for sure. Santana, Jess & Jada those were some real deal riders right there. I'm definitely going to have to read more of your books.

Married To A Kingpin Review

This was a very good stand alone book. There as lots of action and secrets were revealed. Dupree was just a dumb jealous snake. He found out too late that everything that glitters ain't gold. Dayonna sure fooled me. I thought she was laid back and quiet. Those are the people we're taught to watch out for. Apparently many people made the mistake of underestimating her. Plato had his good qualities and he also had his bad side. He didn't play when it came to his family.

This thrill ride was full of twists and turns throughout. Even the characters I hated, I loved. I must say Dayonna and Plato are THAT couple. Talk about a force being together. Dayonna was one bad chick! And oh my goodness, Plato. He is enough to make you want to read about him the entire book by himself! Although some things seemed a little far fetched, I still appreciated the fantasy of the book, and the fantasy aspect actually worked well in this novel. It felt like I was truly "reading" a movie. Can't wait to read more from this author.

5 Star BANGER

Where do I start for one this book deserves way more than 5 stars. This book should have been a series because I could never get enough of these characters. I love me some Plato and Dayonna like she said forget Bonnie and Clyde they have nothing on the Cisneros. Dayonna friends loyalty is so real I wish I had friends like them. I don't want to give away any spoilers so I will just say don't sleep on this Certified Banger. Fatima you did that!!!

Great read

This was a great read. It is a standalone, but it could be more to the story in my opinion. There was plenty of action and secrets throughout the whole book. I loved the plot and storyline. I am a sucker for love especially when it's a kingpin involved. Fatima brought her a game with this one. I started reading and could not put it down. I look forward to reading more by this author. Good

Good book. I loved the characters and their vivid descriptions. The girls were everything. The love showcased in this book was depicted well. Editing could have been slightly better though.

This book was too good. Kept my attention from beginning to end and the ending was off the chain. Dayonna, Jada, Santana, and Jess is something serious and I love their sisterhood. I'm glad Dayonna left Dupree snake ass. Cherise along with the others got exactly what they deserved. I love the way it ended and how the brothers still came together in the end. Overall great read.
