LG O’Connor is a corporate marketing exec by day who takes her author cape out at night. An avid reader, she loves books with memorable characters that make her heart sing. She’s the author of the urban fantasy / paranormal romance series, The Angelorum Twelve Chronicles, and the award-winning romantic women’s fiction series, Caught Up in Love. A native ‘Jersey Girl,’ she’s always in search of the perfect cup of coffee and fine Italian leather. Her perfect hero always keeps the heroine fed. You can find recipes, which first appeared on USA Today’s Happy Ever After blog, from the sexy hero of Caught Up in RAINE in his cookbook, Recipes from Raine’s Roost aka Jillian’s Kitchen.
As an avid book lover, she enjoys connecting with readers.
L.G. sent me an advance reading copy this novella of her fantasy series in hopes of getting a cover blurb/quote. I will admit that I'm not a big reader of angels vs. demons (or fallen angels) and the whole religious mythology, but I read the synopsis of the story and was intrigued. I'm so glad I didn't let my "preconceived notions" stop me from reading! I enjoyed the story very much because I could connect with the characters. The world building and fantasy aspect is a great blend of science and religion, which was a surprise to me as I didn't think you could blend the two! I'll also admit that I was a bit confused during some sections since this is part of the series - but there is a guide to all the characters, so I could go back and reference who is who. There are two other novels in this series that comes before. I have them both and while they've been in my TBR pile, I'm moving them higher in my stack!
Here's the quote I provided: A unique twist of the angels vs. demons mythology that blends science with religion and includes characters that grab you by the heart!
So excited! Just received a blurb for the trade paperback edition which launches this October from the amazing Maria V. Snyder:
"A unique twist of the angels vs. demons mythology that blends science with religion and includes characters that grab you by the heart!" - Maria V. Snyder, New York Times Bestselling Author
Enter the world of the Angelorum and meet the Rogue who has been dogging Simon, and get a view into genetics project that started it all as destinies entwine to deliver us one step closer to the final battle of good and evil. There are no coincidences...
For both new readers to the series, and those who have read the first two books.
Content: contains milder language than the adult version of the series, as well as one "PG-13" love scene.
Disclaimer: This is the first book in the series that I have read. Okay so now that the disclaimer is out of the way, this book was pretty good. There was some confusion due to the fact that this book has to be read in order of the series. There are some major mystery's in this book, such as who Isa and Sandra are suppose to save. What is the opposition going to do with the vaccine. And who is Isa and Sandra's "friend". All of these questions are answered within this book, but at the end more questions are risen, and more heartache begins. I loved the dynamics between Isa and Sandra, and I can not wait to continue reading about Isa and Samuel in the upcoming books. ~A Book Obsessed Chicks Review Team Selection.
“The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why.” And so this satisfying prequel sets out to prove, adding the back story to the lives of several characters we’ve come to know in the Angelorum Twelve Chronicles trilogy. And some who will be alluded to, but will have passed on before the story begins. Like the first two books in the trilogy, Trinity Stones and The Wanderer’s Children, this book kept me turning the pages until the conclusion. Ms. O’Connor has created a world worth visiting and characters worth waiting for. But hopefully we won’t have to wait too long for the third book!
With her latest book, L.G. O'Connor secures herself as writer--and visionary. Hope's Prelude will leave you wanting more. The writing is seductive, drawing you into a world of intrigue and adventure, a world of good and evil. As the characters struggle to understand, so does the reader. I highly recommend the entire series.
What a great story! Having read Trinity Stones, I think Hope's Prelude could have easily been the first book in the series as it introduces us to some fantastic pivotal characters. I can't wait to see what kind of a ride LG O'Connor is going to take us on with this series, but I know I'll be on board to the end!
Uncaged Book Reviews: Angels, demons and science – all mixed together. This book was actually written after two others in the series, but it looks like it is better read first, as it gives some key information about some characters and the fight between good and evil. Make sure you are awake, and not a bit sleepy when you read, or you may miss an important detail, there is not a lot of fat in this book. The book chapters jump between Sandra, a Nephilim and scientist on the Angel side trying to find a way to save Cara, a woman who has no idea she’s a Nephilim and can turn the tide in the battle, and the Nephilim Samuel, who was captured and raised on the Demon side, and not knowing who he truly was until he was older. Suspense, mystery and the age-old struggle between ultimate good and ultimate evil. What could be better?
I love the twist and turns throughout the story. You really fall into a new world full of adventure. The characters are fully developed and I certainly became attached to them. I love angels vs. demons and found this book to be a great example. A good read.
