Eric received his B.A. magna cum laude from Bowdoin College with a double major in philosophy and religion, and his Ph.D. from Bryn Mawr College with a dissertation on G.W.F. Hegel's philosophy of religion. He has taught at Villanova University, the Humanistic Studies Center of Syracuse University, SUNY Upstate Medical University, and the College of Saint Rose. From 1987 to 2006 he was Curator of Historical Collections at SUNY Upstate Medical University. He is listed in Who's Who in America and is a Bronze Life Master of the American Contract Bridge League (ACBL).
