Reaper by Edward Kendrick

Leading a double life can be challenging, as Reaper well knows.

Take one self-styled vigilante—Reaper. Add his alter ego, successful forty-one-year-old, investment counselor, Zack Ward. Then throw in Dallas Comstock, thirty-two, a beat cop, Zack’s lover and the only person who knows Zack is Reaper. The result is men on a mission. They protect homeless kids living on the streets while trying to find a new building for a soon-to-be demolished shelter belonging to Zack’s mentor, Brian Foster—the man who helped Zack get off the streets.

Someone seems to be kidnapping streetwise young girls. Reaper pulls together a team of street kids—Zip and his boyfriend, Colly, Raven and Sway—to stop the predator. At the same time Zack, with the help of his business clients, sets up a charity ball to raise money for the new shelter, Off-the-Street.

What happens next may strengthen Zack’s and Dallas’ love—or destroy it.

About Edward Kendrick

Born and bred Cleveland, I earned a degree in technical theater, later switched to costuming and headed to NYC. Finally seeing the futility of trying to become rich and famous in the Big Apple, I joined VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America), ending up in Chicago for three years. Then it was on to Denver where I put down roots and worked as a costume designer until just recently.

I began writing a few years ago after joining an online fanfic group. Two friends and I then started a group for writers where they may post any story they wish no matter the genre or content. Since then, for the last three years, I've been writing for publication. Most, but not all, of my work is m/m, either mildly erotic or purely 'romantic', and more often than not it involves a mystery or covert operations.

I have to start by saying this is one of my favorite books by Edward Kendrick, it is tied with Surviving. I love the emotion throughout this story and the characters kick ass.

This book from page one until the end had me on the edge of my seat, the story flowed perfectly and I just couldn't stop reading until the end. Zack or sha'll I say Reaper is a kick ass, take no shit type of guy at night and during the day he's a successful business man. Both sides of him cares about the homeless especially the kids and what they have to endure living on the streets, he was there at one point in his life and he makes it his mission to take care of these kids. I loved the uniqueness of this story, loved how much of a hero/legend Reaper is in the eyes of the homeless and loved how much his partner in life Dallas understands why he needs to do what he does. Dallas is torn between wanting to help Reaper and worrying about his safety, I loved these two together, they are the perfect match both in their private lives and their extracurricular activities. lol.

This story is a wild ride of butt kicking, sexy as hell (I mean sizzling sexy) and loving all in one. Love the kids, especially Zip, Colly, Raven and later Sway. These kids learn lessons on the streets but also learn they need to help each other to survive. Amazing story, I felt the emotion throughout and just abolsutley loved these characters, they are hot as hell together...Damn! Another 5 star read by Edward. Loved every minute of it!! Wild, Emotional, Sexy and Unique.

This is the first time I've read Edward Kendrick. I never know what to expect with new authors. But like anything in this world; you never know until you try. Reaper is very action packed. Reaper aka Zack is a business man by day ( a very successful one) and a vigilante by night. A lot of parallels to Bruce Wayne/Batman/ the Punisher.

Both Zach and Reaper (since they are the same person) protect the homeless. More so the children. I loved that. I really did. He was the vigilante that we see in the movies. The do gooder. Using his fortune for the better.

His boyfriend, Dallas, also a cop, is in a sticky situation with Reaper. He is bound by certain laws but he ignores them because he loves Reaper. He fears for him that one day he will be killed. I wouldn't want to be in his shoes at all.

The ensemble in this book was a BAND OF BADASSES! That is for sure. The ONLY issue I had was the dialog was a wee bit cheesy at time. Something I was struggling with a bit. But it's such an action packed, suspenseful story I was able to get past it.

Fun read!
