When brave bush pilot Will Pierson comes to her rescue, she knows she can still reach her goal, but she needs his help. Will wants answers about the crash, too, especially since his mother was the missing plane's pilot. He'll be the hero Sylvie needs, but can he ever trust her? Sylvie is shrouded in secrets that keep leading her back to Mountain Cove. Secrets someone will kill for. Will may protect her, yet no one can persuade her to end her search…not even a killer.

Wow, what a ride! Sylvie is just starting her dive searching for her mother’s downed plane when all of a sudden she is attacked and finds herself running for her life! Enter Will, flying by in his bush plane when he notices a woman in danger and does the unthinkable, he intervenes and joins Sylvie in running for their lives in the picturesque but deadly Alaska wild.

Could NOT put this one down for a moment and I was fighting a cold while reading! After being beat up, cold, exhausted, and bleeding, Will and Sylvie think they finally have a safe place to rest when danger finds them AGAIN.

The rest of the time, my eyes were fixated on the pages while my mind yelled, “Watch out!” And “Get out of there, RUN!” Or something like “Aim true, Will, you can do this!” To “I did NOT see that coming, look OUT!” And the plot was like that consistently and the location was never the same. It starts in Alaska and ends in Alaska, but Will and Sylvie end up in the hospital twice, in a mansion and down in a dark basement with webs and crawly things, to a helicopter, to a ferry, and from the ocean to the sky. It was perfectly paced and I had no suspicions (other than Sylvie’s stepfather-but that didn’t feel right) until nearly the end. Still couldn’t believe what was what and wished Sylvie and Will had more of a chance to kiss at the end (they had one in my imagination), but still a GREAT book!

The thing that I immensely enjoyed was their faith and how often they prayed/cried out to God in the dangerous moments, but that is something I've enjoyed throughout this series.

There was one other thing in the story that connects Sylvie to the Warren family in a unique way and that only enhances the story even more. I have loved the Mountain Cove series, but Tailspin is the best one yet. Highly recommended and two thumbs up!

I received a complimentary copy of this book, I was not compensated for this. The thoughts and opinions are my own.

Tailspin is another exciting addition to the Mountain Cove series. If you haven’t read the other books, this one stands alone nicely. However, I have really enjoyed reading each book in the series and then meeting up with the characters as they reappear in future novels.

Tailspin drops the reader into the action right from the very beginning and keeps up an intense pace throughout. The two main characters are likable and strong individuals. I couldn’t help but feel scared and nervous for them as they entered into dangerous situations. Sometimes I felt that Sylvie headed into danger without being fully prepared for what she would need to handle. But, fortunately, Will was also a strong character and tried his best to protect her while also recognizing that she was a strong and determined woman. I liked that Will and Sylvie both had their own fears to overcome in this novel and were put to the test many times.

I definitely recommend this story to those who enjoy romantic suspense.

Tailspin is an adrenaline-fueled adventure! Aptly titled, Goddard sends her characters into a tailspin again and again as they race to uncover buried secrets while trying to stay alive. Just as the tagline promises, love and danger collide in this fast-paced story. Sylvie and Will’s journey is filled with drama, danger, and suspense that kept me on the edge of my seat. I really enjoyed this exciting tale and look forward to the next Mountain Cove adventure!

Tailspin is the fifth stand-alone book in the Mountain Cove series. Fans of romantic suspense are sure to enjoy this story, as well as its predecessors.

Wow! A true page turner. I found it difficult to put down. The characters seemed so real. The book is just the right combination of Suspense, romance, inspiration and great writing to be a best seller. I loved this book and cannot wait to read the next in this series.

I loved this book. Elizabeth Goddard brings us the fifth installment in the Mountain Cove series. If you have been reading the series this book pulls it all together, if not don't worry this book is a stand alone also. This series revolves around the small Alaskan town of Mountain Cove and the Warren family. This story is full of spine tingling suspense interlaced with a romance.
The two main characters are Sylvie Masters and Will Pierson. Sylvie is a scuba diving instructor from Seattle with ties to Mountain Cove. Will Pierson is a bush pilot from Mountain Cove. Both have recently suffered a loss and want answers. Sylvie heads out off the coast of Alaska in the area her mother's plane went down to try to find the crash site in hopes of finding the answers she's searching for when she is suddenly attacked. Will on a return flight decides to detour and fly over the area where his mom's plane went down to see if he could find answers. Both not knowing one another, but essentially searching for the same thing.
Basically I was pulled in to the plot and engaging characters right away. Sylvie and Will are grieving the loss of their mothers, but Sylvie suspects foul play right away. Will her secrets put both of their lives in jeopardy? Both characters will weave their way into your heart. The plot is fast paced and full of twists and turns. The book includes elements of mystery, suspense, turmoil and romance. I would recommend it to anyone.

Each book in this series gets more suspenseful but you don't have to read the other books, each book stands alone. I enjoyed Tailspin mainly because it was a different kind of book. I've come to enjoy the town of Mountain Cove in past books but this book isn't really located there although some characters from past books make an appearance. We get to meet Sylvie Masters who has been "hinted at" in previous books because she is the half-sister of the siblings in the previous books but they have never met her. Sylvie is an expert scuba diver and she knows her mother is dead from a suspicious bush plane crash into Alaskan waters so she is going to find that plane and find her mother's body. Imagine her surprise when, as she's diving, a hit man tries to kill her! She can't figure out what is going on! Thankfully, Will Peirson, a bush pilot himself, sees her from the air as he's flying by and Sylvie is running for her life as she escaped from the hit man and managed to get out of the water! Will gets her into the plane and they take off but still crash later! That's just the first chapter! This book has a LOT of action and you are constantly guessing, like the characters themselves, what is happening and who is really behind all of this! Who killed Sylvie's mother AND we find out that WILL'S mother was flying the plane that Sylvie's mother was on so she died also! Will joins Sylvie in her search to find out what happened. I enjoyed the book to the very end and would highly recommend it! If you are like me, you'll be reading it very fast!

I enjoyed “Tailspin,” especially the matters of trust that Sylvie and Will both had to deal with concerning one another and others around them. That really resonated with me.

I also greatly enjoyed Sylvie’s exploration under the water. Elizabeth really captured the awe and wonder of nature underwater. Those were definitely some of my favorite parts of the book!

The suspense wasn’t quite as heavy as I would have liked, but I was surprised by who was the person behind everything. I really thought it to be someone else that was mentioned.

Overall, this was a good evening read that was filled with a little bit of romance, diving and flying action, and mystery. I would recommend it to those who enjoy a fast pace read with guessing who the mastermind is behind everything.

Once again the author has written a super charged action packed book that is hard to put down. I could feel the cold water as it splashed on Sylvies' body as she swam in the ocean. The breathtaking scenes are so vivid you seem to be there as she scours underneath for any signs of life. The series , Mountain Cove continues with a superb cast of characters.

Sylvie is a scuba instructor who goes to a small town in Alaska to find out what happened to her mom. How can a plane just disappear without a trace? Sylvie wants answers and will not stop until she gets them. Her character is a very strong determined young woman who will stop at nothing to find her mom. The other main character, Will, is a bush pilot from Mountain Cove. He decides to fly over where his moms' plane went down to see if there is anything the searchers missed. Is it a coincidence that Sylvie and Will are looking for the same downed plane? What happens to Sylvie when she is scuba diving where the plane went down? The details are so powerful that I could not stop reading. Is there someone who doesn't want Sylvie to find out the truth from that fateful day?

The book is masterfully written with intrigue , unforgettable action and twists that will surprise readers . I love how the author crafted a mystery with a bit of romance into the story. The story is not rushed and keeps readers interested with a plot that keeps you on the edge of your seat. This is one book that mystery lovers will not want to miss.

What does a scuba instructor who won’t fly & a bush pilot who won’t scuba dive have in common? Both their mother’s were killed in a small plane accident in the Alaskan waters which reeks of foul play! When these two meet, Sylvie is running first from a crazed diver underwater to a man with a rifle on land. Billy “Will” spots her from the air and knows he can’t just leave her defenseless! What ensues is a race to find out who the killer is & what he’s after.
While this is the 5th book in the Mountain Cove series and I’ve only read the first one, the story stood well on its own. I was glad to finally meet Sylvie, the missing half sister of the Warren clan. I also enjoyed re-visiting the other characters and the town of Mountain Cove! It had the elements I love in a story; suspense, a little mystery, hints of attraction and eventual romance between the hero & heroine. It had my heart pounding in several scenes as both Sylvie and Will raced to find evidence needed in their mother’s murder to put the killers behind bars. And since I didn’t know who did it, kept me looking over my shoulder right along with them! The author did a nice job with a realist story, relatable characters and vivid sceneries (especially underwater ones), and enough suspense to keep me engrossed in the book. I look forward to the next installment of this series!

**I received a complimentary copy in exchange for my honest review which I have provided here. Thank you Elizabeth for the kind of suspense story that keeps me coming back for more!**

I was hooked by the 5th page!

The suspense story in this novel is a stand-alone plot line. One of the main characters does carry over from the previous books. The main characters from the earlier books in the series do make appearances and there are details of their lives that are caught up. That said you get to decide if you want to treat it as part of a “true” series or not.

I absolutely love both of the main characters in this book. Their individual life stories are slowly revealed and really explain their hang-ups and doubts. They both have trouble trusting others and yet they are thrust into a situation after situation where they have to trust each other even though they have just met. Danger stalks them around every corner. They both had deep seated fears that they had to face and overcome. It was wonderful to watch their struggles and learn to trust.

The plot is incredible at keeping the reader focused and turning the pages. I knew all along that something major had happened before the start of the book and I knew I wouldn’t be satisfied until I knew exactly what it was. Before the revelation of it there was a major shift that I wasn’t expecting. I loved it though.

I received a free copy of this book from the author in exchange for my honest opinion.

TAILSPIN is the fifth book in Ms. Goddards's Mountain Cove series, but it easily stands alone. I hadn't read very many books in the series so I have no idea if it has continuing characters or not.

Sylvie is desperate to find the wreckage of the plane where her mother died. She doesn't suspect foul play at all -- at least until her life is threatened by an unknown diver intent on killing her. She manages to escape, but only to find herself running for her life as an unknown rifleman chases after her. When Will lands his plane she isn't sure if attacks are to be added from the sky now too or if he was her hero come to rescue her.

Questions abound with no obvious answers as Sylvie and Will are kept running. Is Sylvie's stepfather behind the attempts at her life -- or someone else? Sylvie's stepfather seems to be the only suspect in the story, so it did seem pretty cut and dried. Not in a predictable way. However, surprises are in the works, including why Sylvie's mom was running, where she was going, what she was doing, who she was meeting and so much more. And maybe, just maybe the obvious suspect wasn't the one behind the attacks.

Tailspin (mountain Cove #5 )
By: Elizabeth Goddard

Tailspin is the fifth book in Mountain Cove series, but if you have not read the others, nothing to worry about this one stands along good by itself . Wow, what a sort of suspense, mystery, and romance Elizabeth Goddard has weaved us. She had me hooked right from the start and did not let go till the end. I caught myself holding my breath several times. Ms. Goddard keeps you in suspense and guessing till the end. Love the characters Sylvie and Will. Sylvie is a master at scuba diving and Will is a bush pilot. Both of them has their fears. The story and the character are so real you feel like you are right there with them. Can Sylvie and Will find what they are looking for? What dangers are hiding in the deep waters?

This is the 5th book in the Mountain Cove series, but it can be read as a standalone. I also definitely recommend reading the entire series. This author certainly knows how to write suspense and action stories that keep you on the edge of your seat from the first to the final pages. This book is wonderful combination of faith, suspense and romance, and is another one from this author that I loved. I was given a copy of this book in return for an honest review, and it is one that I definitely recommend to the reader who enjoys good Christian romance and suspense.

Action Packed from Beginning to End!

I loved the story of Will Pierson a bush pilot and Sylvie Masters a rescue diver. Sylvie mom was killed in a plane crash and she is wanting answers. Sylvie doesn’t understand what scared her mom to head to the last place she would ever return to Mountain Cove, Alaska. Will is searching for answers as well as his mom was the missing plane’s pilot. Sylvie is diving in the area she believes her mother’s plane went down. As She is diving someone dives down to her. Soon Sylvie learns that the diver is out to kill her. As she is fighting for her life Will just happens to be flying by and sees her being chased by a killer. Will rescues Sylvie and soon they are in the fight of their lives.
I couldn’t put this book down! It’s action packed from beginning to the end! I highly recommend this book! You will not be disappointed! Happy Reading!

I have read newer books by this author so I started checking out her older LIS Harlequin books. I love "series" books so fortunately I was able to find all of her Mountain Cove books online to read even though this is an older series (2015-2016).

This series is set in Alaska and the author did a beautiful job with the imagery of the area, along with describing the beauty and danger that can lie between the mountains.

Each book in this series has its unique story and characters but they all tied back together with some of the characters mentioned in previous books and were located in the same Mountain Cove, Alaska area.

I really enjoyed this fast paced, suspenseful, romance series and would highly recommend! I read each book in less than a day because they were so fun and easy to read.

Too girlish

Could have been a great story but to me it is just too girlish, which I guess that is what the author intended... writing her story for the female audience.
I read a LOT....300-400 books a year and I like to try different authors although I do have my favorites. I've lately been reading numerous female authors but most of them are just too girly for my taste.....no offense intended.... I have discovered some great female writers such as Dana Perino, Jamie Lee Grey, and lots more but my favorite female author is LUANA EHRLICH. If you've not read any of her books, check it out.

It was a very slow boil romance with a bunch of action. The ending was a bit lackluster tho...and they did not kiss once!! NOT ONCE ! But that being said I personally enjoyed the book and would recommend it to some of my Christian friends that are into that sort of book. I would give it a 7 out of 10 stars personally ⭐️

Well, isn't this just delightful wall-to-wall peril! Sylvie almost gets murdered for the first time on page 6, and she and her subsequent rescuer proceed to nearly die about seven different ways in the first quarter alone. There's barely even time to think about the mystery between all the near-death experiences...which is exactly what I came for. I love it.

I really enjoyed this book, it's one of those books that you can't put down. Take that into consideration when you pick it up to read. Elizabeth is one of my favorite authors. Her work on suspense is incredible and I'm always thrilled to receive one of her books in the mail. This book is one of the Mountain Cove Series and I have loved everyone of them. This book is well written, action packed, and faith filled.
Sylvie Masters is a professional scuba diver instructor. She recently received word that her mother was killed in a plane crash in Alaska. Her mother was on her way to Mountain Cove, a place Sylvie never would have imagined her mother to go. Something was wrong with this whole picture, especially when you take into consideration the strange text message she received from her mother right before she took off. Sylvie is determined to find her mother's downed plane and find some answers. As she is diving in a cold water channel, she thinks she has found a plane but is attacked before she can identify it. She rises too fast and has a mild case of decompression sickness. Wounded she makes it to the shore of a small island but there is a shooter after her so she runs for her life.
Will Pierson is a bush pilot from Mountain Cove and is flying over the island when he sees a woman being chased by a rifleman. He can't leave her to die at the man's hand so he lands his plane on the water in front of the woman. He rescues the girl only to find out that she is looking for the plane his mother was flying when she died. God had to have put them together. His plane is shot and they soon have to make a crash landing. How is he ever going to get her to a hyperbaric chamber and keep her safe? Why are men trying to kill her.
This is a journey of their struggle to live while men are attacking them from every direction. Who is out there trying to keep them from finding their mothers plane? Is Sylvie's step father involved? How can they survive? God has a plan for these two and once they acknowledge His plan they see Him working to change their situation. God has a plan for you too. Acknowledge Him and watch Him change your circumstances. It will be far greater than anything you had planned. God bless you.

What a thrilling and suspenseful book! You will find yourself diving right into this heart racing, adrenaline rushing novel.

Mountain Cove, Alaska is the beautiful setting where we meet Will Pierson , a local bush pilot and Sylvie Masters a diving instructor who are on a collision course for a common goal. They are both searching for a downed plane that has taken the lives of both of their mothers.

Sylvie and Will find out they don't have all that much in common and seem to be total opposites. Will dislikes scuba diving just as much as Sylvie dislikes flying. Will was brought up in a modest hard working family and Sylvie became the step daughter of a very wealthy businessman, Damon Masters.

Sylvie finds her life constantly being in danger from unknown assailants. She survives almost being killed while diving and while running for her life, Will comes to her rescue. More harrowing incidents take place and both of their lives become endangered.

Will becomes Sylvie's personal bodyguard, confidant and rescuer, even though she is hesitant to involve him in her life. She would rather be in control of everything herself and its hard for her to trust others and rely on them.

The mystery takes twists and turns and I enjoyed how Sylvie got to meet her step siblings. I like how Will and Sylvie had to trust each other and let go of their pasts. A wonderful spiritual message is woven into the book as well.

A suspenseful read, a breath taking location, characters you can relate to and seeing that we can trust God with our problems and he will give us the strength to get through them makes this book a great read!

Sylvie Masters is desperate to find out why her mother died. Was it really an accident or was she murdered? And if so, by whom? She dives to find the wreckage of her mother's plane when someone comes after her in the water and nearly succeeds in killing her.

As she's running for her life, a bush pilot, Will Pierson, manages to get to her first and they learn that it was his mother who was piloting the plane that crashed into the sea. Together, they seek cover as someone continues to come after Sylvie and now Will. How they manage to escape--time after time--is the stuff legends are made of, but even scarier is facing down her step-father. Is he really behind Sylvie's mother's murder and the people who are intent on killing both Will and Sylvie?

The story is based on a very intersting idea and definitely did not give any hints about the answer to the mystery!

Sylvie and Will meet under very threatening circumstances and continue to stick together while trying to solve the mystery! At times I thought they were about to be tied on the train tracks with a train coming!!!!!!

Lost mothers, found brothers and sisters, phobias for the activities that the other loves - lots of interesting details drive the story forward.

Mountain Cove sounds like an interesting place!

While diving in Alaska for the plane that took her mother and her pilot to their deaths, Sylvie Masters is attacked. She managed to escape and swim to a near by island where she is pursued by a gunman. Will Pierce is flying his bush plane over the area and spots her being pursued and comes to her rescue only to have his plane shot. They get away but their plane develops problems and goes down. Thus begins this action-packed inspirational novel. In their quest to discover the reason for the attempts and to recover her mother's plane they are drawn together. OK intrigue but a rather stilted story. Sylvie bordered on TSTBR while Will kept telling us how strong and clever she was.
