They say that leaving is difficult, but Adam Stevens proves in this cleverly woven volume, Rainbow Reader – Brown: Reconnect, that coming home is also fraught with its own kind out trouble.
After over a decade of dreaming, planning, saving, working incredibly hard, and living apart from his partner for years at a time, Georgie is finally back on home soil and reunited with his Warren, ready to purchase that parcel of land and make the Homeless Youth Ranch a reality. Even on the drive home from the airport it seems his destiny if following him as he comes across two teenage boys foraging in a dumpster for food and helps connect them with support.
Following the years of physical distance between them, the intimate reunion between Georgie and Warren is understandably awkward while being filled with longing and regret over their lost years, but more than anything the re-igniting of their passion and connection to each other. One can only hope that Georgie has returned before the distance became insurmountable.
During the last years of Georgie’s Chinese trials, Warren’s family have lost most of their amassed wealth and prestigious belongings, however they have rallied their connections from years in corporate business behind the cause and managed to stockpile quite a collection of donated items, with the promise of more to come. As he is now the sole provider for his family Warren maintains his position across the country, leaving Georgie once again, with a promise to return and visit soon.
Georgie, along with some of his new friends, take possession of the land and start about the business of settling in and setting up operations. The new ‘Ranchers’ begin building close ties with their local community and make a start on the hard labor required to ensure that the Ranch is one day self-sustaining and giving back to their neighbours.
As Rainbow Reader – Brown: Reconnect draws to an end, all the myriad of lessons Georgie has learnt over the course of his life’s struggles, studies, and adventures around the globe appear to be paying off and falling into place. While he prepares for the fulfillment of the dream for his life’s purpose I eagerly await the last Rainbow Reader – Silver and Gold: True Love’s Kiss, and look forward to Georgie finally achieving the sense of ‘home’ which he has yearned for his entire life.
Is it possible for your dreams to begin coming true just so that they can fall apart again? Let’s wait and see what the future holds for Georgie.
