In the Florida Keys, trouble is brewing along with the coffee. Friends Madison Westin and Fabiana Merceau search for the mastermind behind gruesome warnings showing up on their doorstep. Fab’s infamous new partner and Madison’s reappearing ex-husband complicate matters in this sexy and humorous action-adventure, the seventh installment of the Paradise series. Can they slip the bonds of protective custody and solve the mystery before they are Kidnapped in Paradise?
Deborah Brown is the author of the Paradise series, Crazy, Deception and Trouble Florida Keys mysteries, which makes the reader laugh, cry and cheer...

Kidnapped in Paradise by Deborah Brown is a 2015 Paradise Books publication.
Madison and Fab are better than ever in this seventh installment of the series. The gang is back for more fun in the sun, but this time the characters and side cases introduce us to the zaniest criminals so far, but the main focus is on the return of Jax, Madison's ex-husband, who is nothing but trouble and likes to pull Madison into the fray right along with him. But this time he really is in over his head, and Madison and Fab are in for the most hair raising experience to date.
When it comes to this series, I always want to read the newest book right away, but I try to save it so there isn't such a long pause between books.
The one thing that stands out about this series and sets it apart, is the character growth and changes that the recurring cast and crew go through with each new book. However, when I get ready to settle in for a visit with Madison, Fab and the gang, its like touching base with old friends. The plot is always refreshing, the pace is steady and the mystery is always puzzling.
Madison and Fab were in rare form this time around as they found themselves in a big trouble, the worst trouble ever, and were able to figure their way out of their dire circumstances. Now, of course the men in their lives are less than thrilled and their over sized egos are going to have to adjust a little, but at this rate, I can see Madison and Fab becoming famous someday.
This is another well written mystery adventure story by Deborah Brown. When I finish one of these books I always feel like I have been thoroughly entertained and can't wait to see what the gang will get up to next.
You would think it would be difficult jumping into the 7th book of the series when you haven't read any of the others but it surprisingly wasn't. I wanted to read because it took place in Florida and I'd read the reviews on previous books and the series looked good.
We have an ex-boyfriend, current boy-friend, best-friends, and a whole lot of trouble. The book was action packed and not easy to put down. I found myself laughing a lot and if I'd had a paperback it would have been perfect for the beach. (kindle goes no where near the beach!)
Sometimes latter books in a series can seem tired but I really enjoyed it. When I have time I'm going to start from the beginning and read through the entire series.
I just finished reading "Kidnapped in Paradise" by Deborah Brown. Madison Westin and Fabiana Merceau have been getting really horrible things left at their house. This is the seventh book in the Paradise series by this really wonderful author. These are 2 old friends that have a great time and the reader has a fun time reading about it. I really enjoyed this book and it is a great summer read. I give this book a 4/5. I received this book for a review and all opinions are my own. - See more at: http://dealsharingaunt.blogspot.com/2...
Let’s start with Kidnapped in Paradise is book seven in a series, as you can tell above. I have never read any of the previous six so I can wholeheartedly say you can read the book as a stand alone. Did I want a book eight when I was done? Without a doubt. Am I going to put books one through six on my want to read list? You know it.
I have always wanted to visit the Florida Keys. The description of this location made me want to buy a bikini - not a thought I have had since probably junior high - and head south right now. Of course, I am sure I would find the weather in such a beautiful place not as great as I am making it in my head. I’m okay with that. As much as I will always say I’m a mountain girl, the water draws me in just as much.
The characters in Deborah Brown’s novel are witty and gorgeous. Of course, all those who spend time in the Keys are supposed to be gorgeous. How else can they wear bikinis? Madison and Fabiana are friends who, I presume, met in one of the previous books. Evidently Fab broke into Madison’s house and stayed, spoiling her cat in the process. Both have boyfriends. If you know me, you know how I hate that term for grown men but these four are young enough I guess I’ll let that pass. Madison also has an ex-husband who plays a prominent role in this book. The opening scene introduces you to these five characters and lays a pretty good path for what is to come.
I kept waiting for the kidnapped portion of the title to be fulfilled. I’m not saying it didn’t happen. I’m saying I anticipated it being a first part of the book and I had to wait. The opening scene with someone tied to a chair was not the “kidnapped” that the title focuses on and I am glad for that.
I pick up books to escape from my real life. When I get one that too closely focuses on reality, I am not as happy about spending time reading it. I am very happy I read Kidnapped in Paradise as it is just what I am looking for in a novel. It takes me away from my daily life and puts me in a different place.
I have read several of the Paradise books and I was looking forward to reading this book. The Paradise books are full of action and mystery but are also quick, fun reads.
Madison Westin and her best friend, Fabiana, are always getting into trouble. Their boyfriends, Creole and Didier, and their mother’s boyfriend, Spoon, often have to get them out of scrapes but only when absolutely necessary. Fabiana is able to get them out of almost any situation with her sweet talk or her gun, whichever is appropriate (in her mind).
This time Madison and Fab are in trouble because of Madison’s ex-husband. Creole tries to put them in protective custody but he should know better. They have a mystery to solve! Of course, they can’t solve a mystery without getting into some trouble.
Deborah Brown’s writing flows well and is easy to read. This book is full of action, suspense, and humor. No matter what is happening, there’s always room for a little humor in the Paradise books.
Anyone who likes women’s fiction, mystery, or suspense will like Kidnapped in Paradise. Even though it’s seventh in a series, it does stand on its own. I highly recommend it and I hope there will be more of these books in the future.
I received a free ecopy of this book for an honest review.
I absolutely love the Paradise series, and Kidnapped in Paradise definitely didn't disappoint! Madison and Fab are at it again, and as always they can't stay out of trouble.
In this book we were re-introduced to Madison's ex husband Jax (even though I'd be happy to not meet him again), and we spent a great deal more time with some of the peripheral characters. We saw a lot more of Phil and Spoon, and I like them so much better for the extra time that Mrs. Brown spent with them!
I think it's hilarious that Fab decided that a lighthouse was the perfect office and had one delivered! This is so crazily Fab that no one else could pull it off.
This time around Madison and Fab get dragged into a mystery because part of a dead body is left on their doorstep, and they have no choice but to try to figure out why (much to the chagrin of the men in their lives!)
If you haven't read any of the Paradise series before I strongly recommend you try it. You'll definitely want to go back and read the rest of them!
I received this book to review through Beck Valley Books Book Tours, all the opinions above are 100% my own.
The Paradise is one of my absolute favorites. I have every single book in paperback thanks to the lovely Deborah Brown. This latest one is number SEVEN and it is by far the one that had me gripping the edges of my seat the most. Madison and Fab are always getting themselves into some sort of mess and this time is no different. It’s actually even more of a whopper than before. This will make everyone’s lives different. If you have read all of the other books and are following my reviews, then you will be just as mad as me when Madison and Creole’s relationship is affected. Mad face would be here if I could make one!
This series always has me coming back for more and more suspense, but I think if I were a character in the book my emotions would be more a wreck than theirs. This one is a big ball of “oh my!” and “no way!”. I wouldn’t have it any other way though. I absolutely love this series. With only seven books showing anywhere that I have looked and no leak of something being added to the series in the future, can I just insert here that I am devastated. I need more!

This story is about Madison Westin and Fabiana Merceau who are friends that are trying to figure out who is leaving bodies or body parts on their doorstep. Creole and Didier, Madison and Fab's boyfriends, insist that the girls go to a safe house. The girls finally agree but escape then are kidnapped. Another complication happens when Madison's ex comes to town wanting a place to stay while he conducts business.
These women are so much fun! They can't stay out of trouble. They are doing retrievals for Brick and have help from so many people along the way that I don't know how they can keep everything straight. Fab's boyfriend is a model and Maddie's boyfriend is an undercover cop who both think they know what the girls are doing but rarely do.
Even though this is the first book I have read in this series it didn't matter that I missed the previous books because I could understand everything just fine. The action in this book is fast paced and hilarious. Maddie and Fab are always scheming and somehow come out on top and alive!
I have read all the previous books in this series and can’t wait for more! I love this series!
Madison and Fab are such a great pair of friends – the perfect friends. And their boyfriends? Hot, hot, hot.
As always, they find themselves in more trouble this time around and not only do they find it, they step right into it. They just can’t stay away from it!
I thought a few books back that we were done with Madison’s ex husband Jax, but he shows his mug again in Kidnapped in Paradise. He’s another one that can’t seem to stay out of trouble.
In Kidnapped in Paradise, I feel we get to meet some new people and get to know more about some of our usuals.
Gunz has been around before and we get to know his… personality (or lack thereof). We definitely get to interact with Spoon much more and I have to say, I really am starting to like him. Phil is much more present too.
I really, really enjoy the entire Paradise series and have my fingers crossed that there are more to come. I am certain Madison and Fab can find more trouble to find and I am curious – what happens to Crum?
I've read every book in the Paradise series thus far, but this one had me on the edge of my seat! Literally, on the edge of my seat, talking to the characters like they could hear me and gasping along the way.
Let me tell you that the mess that Madison & Fab manage to get themselves in this time, is definitely a doozy. Something so complicated that it wreaks havoc on everyone's lives. Including Madison & Creole's relationship! (Enter cursing now.)
I'm really not a romance reader at all, but I have been rooting for Madison & Creole every step of the way. And honestly, that's what keeps me coming back to the Paradise series. Of course all of the murders & whodunits get their fair share of credit too (& decapitations?!) But really, I want to see if wedding bells are in the future! Hint, hint...
**I received a copy of this book for review purposes, all the opinions above are 100% my own.**
Kidnapped in Paradise is Deborah Brown's latest installment in the Madison Weston saga. Per usual Madison is too trusting for her own good and winds up getting both Fab and her in heaps of trouble. I absolutely loved having a new Madison adventure to enjoy during my last few weeks of summer vacation.
Both Fab and Madison have big, slightly scary boyfriends, but even that was not enough to keep the girls in check. I think I might just listen to an undercover Fed if he told me to stay put. But then again, my days are never as action packed as Madison's.
Jax makes an unwelcome appearance again at Fab's house, and as usual trouble followed him around like a lapdog. I sometimes wonder how people manage to bring out the worst in others. Jax is one of those guys that manages to be that person for everyone he encounters. The smartest thing Madison ever did, in my opinion, was to divorce his sorry butt.
Another fabulous installment of this series. Madison and Fabiana manage to get themselves in trouble yet again. Madison's ex, Jax, is back in town, looking for a place to hide and dragging the girls into his situation. From a severed head on the front porch, to being kidnapped, to being in protective custody, life is anything but boring.
All the usual family and friends are present, providing us with humorous incidents and secondary plots. Mac and Shirl provide me with lots of smiles and laughs!
Madison is still growing and maturing through each book. It's good to see her think things through and be less reckless than when the series began. And the relationships between the girls and their men also continue to grow and strengthen.
I received this book to review through Beck Valley Books Book Tours, all the opinions above are 100% my own.
My heart never beats so fast while reading the Kidnapped In Paradise
I never stop admiring Madison and Fabiana's friendship the most. These friends will do everything to make each other safe and even in death. Their friendship pulls them through the deadliest scenario they ever been together.
Through good times and bad times, Madison and Fabiana are always be there for each other. It makes me a little teary-eyed when they part ways after the dangerous ordeal they ever experienced. I LOVED these two girls. They are so brave. I wish I could have a friendship like them.
Ms. Deborah Brown really drill me so good and so deep with this series. This is my favorite series. I will feel sad if this series is over. I need more of Madison and Creole. I want to know their happily every after even with Fabiana and her boyfriend. Please do not let this be the last on the series, Ms. Deborah?
Madison and Fab get into lots of trouble in this one--and their macho boyfriends are not amused--actually none of the males they know are amused in the least and they all get involved in this one. But Fab and Madison are a team and they somehow manage to not get killed!! It all started when Madison's ex husband shows up--then a head without a body appears on her doorstep......now you really don't think these two would just sit back allow the guys to figure this out do you? Of course more then this is going on--lots more!! What a fun read!! I loved it!!Kidnapped in Paradise
Deborah Brown adds a new thrilling addition to the Paradise series with Kidnapped in Paradise. Our heroine, Madison, and her friend Fab are once more in the thick of things. Complications, trouble and a little humor always follow this duo and sometimes lands right on their doorstep. Love the interaction between all the unique characters. As The girls try to find clues about who is leaving warnings for them. You will follow the adventures (sometimes misadventures) as they solve the mystery before them. Both gals have a special man who are sometimes clueless as to what their women are really up to. Kidnapped in Paradise has a nice sprinkling of humor, romance and of course mystery. Ready for the next one anytime.....
I really enjoy Deborah's writing style, and it's been great to watch the characters develop through the series. We get to keep up with even peripheral characters like Brad, Julie and Liam, or like the couple that owns the local mortuary. Although some characters, like Jax, Madison's trouble-magnet ex-husband, we're not too happy to see again.
The crazy capers that Madison and Fab get into make me laugh. Personally, I wouldn't think of a lighthouse being a portable object, but Fab manages to have one moved to use as her new office. This time around, things get hairy, as the girls manage to cross the wrong bad guys, and end up in some sticky situations, including being 8 miles from shore without a lot of resources.
Another hit by this author. While this is the seventh in this series, it can read as a stand alone. Although, I would suggest reading the others in this series, for you enjoyment and to learn more of the main characters. I have enjoyed this series. The H/H are engaging, challenging and passionate. The premise of love is a plus and the element of danger is ever present. Well written with interesting characters and an element of mystery and danger. Paradise can be dangerous. A another enjoyable read by this author. Fans of Cozy Mystery will enjoy this read.

4.5 stars Finally another fun and dangerous adventure for Madison and Fab, the private detectives with the greatest ability to get in trouble. Their boyfriends try to keep them out of trouble but with little success. In this episode reappears the former husband of Madison and brings with him many problems. It's fun to see the reaction of Creole in front of the possible rival. Even this book is compelling and engaging as the others, it is really hard to put it down. It's the seventh book in this series but you do not have to have read the others to enjoy this one. I can not wait to return soon to visit Paradise.
I recommend it to those who love mystery funny, humorous with bizarre and wacky characters.
I absolutely love Madison & Fab! Their friendship and their adventures. These two can't stay away from trouble and I love it! I love how there’s nothing that will keep these two down. Not even being kidnapped. I have read the previous books in this series and I love to see how the characters evolve. I also really like that in this story not only did I meet new characters but I got to know past characters a little more. This is a book with a steady pace & a puzzling mystery. This is another well written mystery adventure story by Deborah Brown and I can't wait for the next one! I did receive this product discounted or free of charge in exchange for a review, however all opinions are 100% honest based on my own experience.
When a severed head appears at Madison’s front door, she becomes paranoid. Why has she been targeted? Does it have something to do with her ex showing back up? Then after a fully intact dead body appears, Madison and Fab have to go in hiding. But nothing can keep those two down. Not even being kidnapped.
I like the way all the recurring characters have continually evolved. Dickie and Raul have become endearing for sure. There was more dickering between Madison and Fab and that was great. With all the nonstop action going on, Madison found herself reflecting on her life choices. I think a change will be coming. I can’t wait.
I have not read ANY of the other books in this series. This is book #7 in the Paradise Series. I was able to read Kidnaped in Paradise as a stand-alone book, although after finishing I really would like to go back and read the other ones to see what kind of trouble these characters have been getting into. I enjoyed reading what new things were coming Madison and Fab’s way as I turned the pages. An unexplainable event happens in which Madison and Fab have to figure out why it happened and who did it. Throughout the pages they encounter many people and situations. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did.
I can't give enough praise to Deborah Brown for her great series. Trouble is always finding Fab and Madison. I really enjoy reading about their adventures and can't get enough. This is a series I hope never ends. This book will pull you in and not let you go. I finished it fast because I couldn't wait to see what happened next. Really great read! It gets harder to review this series because I can't say enough good things about it.
I’ve been lucky enough to be able to read all of the other books in this series and I couldn’t wait for this one! These girls, Madison and Fab, they just can’t stay out of trouble. They not only found it in this book, but they stepped right into the middle of it. We got to meet new people in Kidnapped in Paradise, which was great!
I really really enjoy the Paradise series, and I can’t wait for more books, to tell us what other types of trouble Madison and Fab can get into! A+ Read.
This is my first 'Paradise' book and I loved Madison and Fab - great, gutsy heroines. The pace of the story never lets up for a moment as the girls go from case to case whilst the main plot involves Madison's ex husband Jax who has managed to get himself into a great deal of trouble. I found the book a great escapist read, perfect for taking to the beach or whiling away your commute. I'll be checking out the other books in the series.
If you think that you're going to be reading a typical suspense novel, you're in for a big surprise. You will be taken on a wild ride where you have to keep up with the energetic duo Madison and Fab. This is a whirlwind of twists and turns with a bunch of little stories that lead up the the making of one story. Not one story is left unfinished. The creativity and humorous mind of Deborah Brown is not to be missed.
Having now read 7 of the current 14 titles in this series, this one is my least favorite. I thought that it jumped around too much, and that the ending was way too anticlimactic. That being said, I'm still going to give the next 7 a chance, because I really enjoyed the first 6.
This is one of the times where a little more explanation and resolution would go a long way to a better book rating. I was good with the series but have been noticing that the author tends to really skim on important conversations that really help with developing of relationships. I am not sure if it is because the main character Madison hates confrontation and conflict in her interpersonal relationships or if it’s the author overall that won’t include them. Either way things feel incomplete at times. Like nothing was resolved and the ending of the book is a good example. Something major happens to the relationship between the MFC and her boyfriend but they don’t talk about it at all it’s like 2 lines of let’s just sweep this under the rug. I need more resolution than that I hope other installments cover conflicts better than this
This story is the most ridiculous in the series so far. Nothing that Madison and Fab do makes sense. A head is left on the porch, a dead body in the yard, no explanation, yet they are offended to go into hiding to save their lives and do more stupid stuff because they are supposedly bad asses. They are more like spoiled brats.
I do enjoy the setting and most of the cast of characters and the books are easy reads with some LOL moments but this installment was hard for me to finish. Yes I will continue with the series because it is included in my Kindle Unlimited membership but if I were purchasing each book this one would end it for me.
Almost rated this book two stars; in fact, I did, then went back and changed it. Still like the characters in the story, and it really is just an entertaining, short, no-think read for me. This one just didn't quite hit the sweet spot for me. There was just something about how slowly the story developed, that kept me from grabbing on to it. I'm not going to quit the series, but I'm just not going to be in a hurry to read the next one ... and the ones after, if this trend continues.
