Well I was completely sucked in by this one. I loved how Kylen gradually opened up and gradually started feeling again. I felt the other characters took a back seat in this story but I liked learning more about Kylen. I loved the Imps and felt that they brought quite a bit to the story. I can't wait to find out what happens next.

A good read..

I don’t know if I’ve ever read a reaper book but I have to say that this was pretty good. I absolutely loved Kylen. He was kind of torn between being good and being evil, and then he saved Olivia in a back alley and that was that. Olivia was dying from the last stages of cancer and she was in the alley when she tried to help two other people who were having their souls taken by demons and the demon turned on her. She had a great bucket list, too.

Of course, I loved all the other players: Deacon, Ruth, Nate and Maeve, they were all great secondary characters. And it was one battle after another throughout the book. It was kind of exciting through the entire story. And it was a great love story.

There was definitely explicit sex in this. And swearing, too. And the F-bomb was used 7 times.

Overall, I did enjoy the whole book. I will move on to the next book even though I wasn’t completely thrilled with the narration.

As to the narrator: At first I was thinking I wasn’t going to be able to listen to this because it seemed like Michael Rubino was in such a hurry to finish the book, he read sooo fast it was just crazy. But I kept listening and he finally slowed down. The men all had their own voices but the women sounded pretty manly. It was OK but he really needs to practice his women’s voices.

REAP & REDEEM is a must read! When I was unable to read, my mind was running with thoughts of what would happen next. After reading REAP & REPENT, book 1 in Lisa's Reaper's series, I was left curious and wanting to know more about Kylen. I got just that in REAP & REDEEM, with lots of gore, action, and sweet romance. Lisa is one talented author to keep your eyes on. I would be lying if I was to say I'm not counting down the days until book 3 releases, because I am.

I strongly recommend REAP & REDEEM and if you haven't already read it, get REAP & REPENT and get ready to snuggle up for an all out fun series.

Loved this second book! So much is happening with the Demons and them taking over people. Kylen was a Reaper taken over by a nasty demon to do his bidding. When Ruth and Nate save Kylen and Deacon you would think that things would get better, but Kylen meets Olivia when she is attacked by a demon trying to take over her body things take a complete turn around for the tortured Kylen.
On to the next book!!!

I loved this one as much or more than the first book. I loved Kylen in the first book. I KNEW something was gunna go down, but I was not expecting to fall in love with him more than Deacon. It's of course that bad boy that's broken thing... We all want to drool on them and then fix them. LOL And Kylen is broken, badly. He is coming back from being possessed by a demon for the last century. And he did it willingly. To save the one he loved. And boy does that basically warp his brain LOL or I should say his heart, but I can't because we all know he had one. He wouldn't have ended up where he is now without that heart. And I loved that FINALLY him and Deacon are ok. And even Nate is good with things, and that's because Nate is gunna have his own crazy drama by the next book, but I'm getting ahead of myself.

So, Kylen saves Olivia from sure death and torture. He however does not expect to continue saving her life, in ways he can't explain. And the sharing of energy is causing a bond between them. And then he can't seem to let go, but he won't get close either. He's a reaper, but not really, not with all the demon left overs stuck in him. And Olivia is everything good. He knows she needs to stay away from him with her life literally dwindling away, but he can't help himself. And Ruth is all about making sure he is there for her, because Ruth wants to find a way to help Kylen as well. She knows he's worth saving. And then there's Olivia. She is dying, like right now. And so her last days are spent basically up-heaving everything she has ever known. Human are not alone, and cats are not always kitties. LOL this is my favorite part LOL. It's funny with her and the "cats". And she is exactly what Kylen needed to not only fix himself, hell, she calls him on his bullshit, but to heal as well. And in turn, he gives her everything she asked for in her dying wishes. I seriously cried with that damn list. I think my heart both broke and burst of happiness in that moment. Sorry can't tell you :)

Now with everything going on, there's a serious war being played between heaven and hell. A fallen angel is working with Lucifer to bring hell to earth, and then to take down heaven. And the earth and it's human are caught directly in the cannon fodder area. Humans and their souls are going down left and right. There's some good gory parts in here and some excellent action scenes. But I won't lie, there's a really really steamy romance scene as well. And a little twist for Ruth and Deacon so you won't forget about them, and a totally fuzzy and unexpected surprise for Nate. I believe Bo is my new favorite character in this series LOL And we also get to meet some excellent new Reapers. And another twist with Grim, and Rashnu, who made me cheer. Yeah, it's a great moment for Kylen and Olivia but it's a downward spiral for Nate and a really surprising twist on the bad guys and how evil they can be. So, if you can't tell, I love this series and I totally think if you are looking for a great paranormal romance, or a wonderful new twist on Reapers, or just some great writing, I say go for this one! And make sure you read the first book otherwise you might be looking at some things a little weirdly. LOL though you really would be able to pick up this one and jump right end, knowing that there's something from before, but not be lost as a dude who won't stop for directions *giggle* So, 5 REAPER PAWS!!

He was consumed with what could only be described as…emotions

Just as awesome as book 1 Reap and Repent! It was interesting to get to know Kylen and I loved that his story was a current one and a forward moving one. What I mean is that via his dreams, mostly, do we get to see flashes of his prior life or his time before we meet him in book 1. The rest of the time is a current storyline that also continues from book 1. I liked that more so, because I really didn't want to re-live Demon time with him! He sure is one broken, shell of a 'man' who is trying to deal with the guilt of his past 100 yrs or so & adjusting to life as it is now. Then he saves Olivia (I’m already dying. What did I have to lose?). I was so heartbroken over Olivia! She is such a sweet woman!! Their story is a great one, that has some great funny moments to offset the little darker or sad tone to this story. With lines like “As it was, they were playing a game of supernatural Whac-A-Mole” & “You Scooby-Snacked five demons and thirty souls?” how can it NOT be funny! Lisa comes up with so many of these hilarious lines that I am hard pressed to stop sharing them all with you! Would be much easier to just read the book. Besides a lot of these are hilarious because of the situation or the people involved with it. I wasn't sure if I liked Kylen and while it did take me most of the book to change my opinion of him, well let’s just say that he is one awesome dude! What’s that saying? Behind every great man is an even greater woman? Well that applies to here as well, except that you need to add a LOT more into Olivia's description, and it takes a long time to think of Kylen as great, or at least to me anyway! Lisa truly is a Master Storyteller!! Between the cover & the blurb, I was completely entranced so when I started to read the story I was transported into Reaper World and enjoyed every minute of it! I love Lisa’s Reapers with all of the originality & creativeness that she has put into this Reaper World of hers! I hope that there will be a LOT more books to come!! I don’t think I could ever have too much of Lisa’s Reapers!!

>Subject - Reap and Redeem

>I received this book from the author and from Paranormal Romance and Authors that Rock. This is the second book in The Reapers Series and ends in an HEA for the two main characters in this particular book. The story, though, is far from over.

>Kylen is a Reaper who had been possessed by a demon for a long time. Book 1 in the Reaper series had his friends save him from possession, but he is not the same. Think of it as post possession post traumatic stress syndrome. Olivia is a woman suffering from end stage cancer, who inadvertently is attacked by a demon one night. Kylen saves her and slowly falls in love with her.

>The difference in personalities between Kylen and Olivia is very pointed. Kylen is one step away from evil with a dark personality that rarely speaks. Olivia is all light and happiness, even though death shadows her every move. Watching them get together is the highlight of the story.

>There is a lot of gore due to the demons being killed, eaten, disintegrating, what have you. The romance is beautiful, but there is only 1 descriptive love scene. Actually, any more love scenes wouldn't have fit in with the story. There is a definite Christian religious angle, as well.

> This book is for an adult audience due to descriptive sex and lots of gore.

Even though the demon that possessed the reaper, Kylen for so long has been killed, what remains of Kylen, is not the same. All those years took a toll on his mind and body, and in ways he still feels the tethers that tie him to evil. Everyone fears he will soon be lost to the dark side. The burden of losing the only woman he ever loved tears him apart, he has lost faith, and hopes his job of now killing demons will be done soon as well as his own life. Drawn by screams in an ally, he saves a young woman from being possessed and takes her to safety. Still on his path of destruction, his thoughts begin to take a turn as he repeatedly allows his energy to flow into her and heal her.
Olivia’s days are quickly numbered. The cancer has spread and there is no hope. Trying to fulfill her written down bucket list, she only has a few left to be marked off. One she never thought she would be able to accomplish was #60 on the list, save a life. She just hopes in her last hours, she can save Kylen before it’s to late, for both of them.

Kylen Larsen is fighting demons--the very real ones escaping hell to wreak havoc on mankind, and the internal ones, the memories of his own century-long demonic possession and the death of his Valkyrie lover. So far, he’s been fighting on the side of good, but he’s been skating so close to the line of evil, he can’t help but be tempted.
And then he saves Olivia Evans from demons only to find out that she’s dying of terminal cancer. He can’t let allow another person to die—but he’d can’t allow himself to love again either. In his torment, will he be able to resist the pull of evil?
Wow. What a read. I was hooked with the first book of the Reaper series, Reap & Repent, and I loved Reap & Redeem just as much. The characters are well-crafted and the plot moves swiftly. By the end, you can’t put it down. The stakes can’t get any higher than the battle of good v. evil. The imagery of the underworld this book evokes is amazing. A fast-paced, gripping read.

The Reaper Series brings us into the world of reapers, death, grim and gory and in the flesh, mostly. Each of the three books follows a different reaper, so they can actually be enjoyed individually as well as read together as a series.
Book 2, Reap and Redeem, is a little darker, since our main Reaper here, Kylen, has been enslaved by an evil power and has lost his love. Enter one damsel in distress, Olivia, and you’ve got a formula for trouble….or maybe it’s exactly what he’s been looking for! I felt the relationship between our hero and heroine was a bit more believable in this second installment, as their circumstances for coming together were rather unusual and would lend themselves to a more hurried romance.

I read Reap & Redeem, which is the second book in this series, as part of an anthology - Supporting character Kylen had a promising setup up here - especially since that fact that he is going to lose another woman(this one is dying of cancer when they meet) that he loves is a heart string 'tugger' - but this story was pretty ambitious for the space. There is a lot going on in the background for the larger series arc and the transition in the romance - which is the key to making a short story romance work for me - is just too abrupt to 'sell' me. I am really interested in the next up leading man but I wish that the setup for the conflict for the next leading lady had been different. Overall this ended up be more on the okay side.

From the moment I met Kylen in Reap & Repent, I needed to know more about him and luckily, Lisa Medley provided. The opening scenes of this book blew me away. Kylen is deeply disturbing, but addictive with his devil-may-care attitude and troubled past. He struggles to see the reason for hope in the battle against Hell for human souls, but he finds a very good reason to fight on--a dying woman named Olivia.

There's so much struggle and soul-searching in this book. Added to Lisa Medley's voice and humor, it makes for a thrilling read. The second book in the Reaper series doesn't disappoint. Plus that cover = perfect!

Another brisk adventure into the world of Reapers, magic and demon slaying. It’s adventuresome, well paced and has just enough steam to spice things up nicely, without overwhelming the story as a whole.

While darker in tone than the first book, it is certainly just as entertaining a read. And habit forming too. My only problem is having to squelch my impatience for the next book.

The mark of good story building is when the characters and their world take up residence in the reader’s head and start spinning new stories all their own.

This is good story building.

*I was provided with a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.
I have really enjoyed reading about Kylen and seeing more on how he is becoming the man he was meant to be. We get to see the story follow as it did from Book 1, but with the side road of learning and seeing things from Kylen's Point of View.
Saving someone else, Olivia, although not on purpose... he finds a mission that is true to his heart.
Grab and start, you wont want to put it down!
I laughed so much. I love the authors wit and that it comes through so easily in the story.

Book 2 review

I was given this book by the author and Paranormal Romance & Authors that Rock for an honest review.
Book 2 picks up where book 1 left off. Only now even more demons have been let loose by the fallen angel and the team has to try to clean it up. My favorite quote is "like playing wack - a-mole with demons." I really started to like Kylen about half way through the book. Lots of action and fighting. A good read and can't wait for book 3

Review of reap and redeem.

Much better than book one. I wasn't sure if i would like this series but it is surprisingly good. This installment covers Kylen's redemption and falling in love but we still have the other main characters playing a main role. Written very well.
I recommend and plan to continue with book three.

Upped intensity from the first one.

Things get even crazier in this installment. Super fast pace, some are saved another lost but not without a sliver of hope.
