Honorata bolja od prvog dijela! Tonto i Lothar su najbolji likovi. NJihova razmjena rečenica je genijalna :) (Stvarno nije dijalog, to je razmjena rečenica)

Much better than the first one
This story keeps getting better. When I saw the documentary 'the greatest movie never made' about his unfinished project of bringing Frank Herbert's Dune to the big screen, I felt sorry that Jorodowski vision. But maybe it is for the best because any fan of Dune would've been disappointed at how much it deviated from the source material. Since then, Jorodowski has spent a considerable amount of time working with artists and other writers to bring his distinct vision through a new medium: via graphic novels. This has had better results, giving us, sci-fi fans and comic book geeks, a story that feels both familiar and unique. There are clear influences from Dune and other sci-fi classics, but these don't overshadow Jorodowski space opera -a space opera that is much more violent than the former.
I found the first volume to be a bit pedantic. It was an introduction, hence there wasn't much revealed about Othon's descendants except for the origins of this caste of warriors violent tendencies. This volume expands the universe, introducing the alluring Honorata and her son, a humanoid who's been molded into the cold and conniving warrior worthy of his father's title. As before, the story is being told by two meddling robots who, in Shakespearean fashion, serve as the comic relief to an otherwise bleak tale.
This is space opera is a roller coaster from start to finish. Starts off slow but then it goes through many ups and downs. Before you know it, you are hooked and like one of the robot narrators, you want to know all at once. But as Tonto (the robo-bard of this epic tale) would say, all good things come to those who are willing to wait.

I see many of Jodorowski's aborted Dune project on display. some Greek tragedy influences, stellar art, a fun plot, although the panels with the robots providing comic relief are very skippable

Paleochrist!
Othon von Salza wünscht sich nichts sehnlicher, als dass ein Nachkomme die Linie der von Salzas weiterführt, doch, wie wir im letzten Band gesehen haben, ist das nicht ganz so einfach. Als er aber bei der Rettung des imperialen Zwitterkinds seine Loyalität beweist, erfüllt ihm die dankbare Kaiserin einen Wunsch, den er nicht zu äußern wagte.
Die Welt der Meta-Barone fasziniert immer mehr. Die ferne Zukunft, in der ganze Planeten nur von Robotern bewohnt werden und die Technik so fortgeschritten ist, dass sie für uns gemäß Clarke's Drittem Gesetz von Magie nicht mehr zu unterscheiden ist, zieht den Leser in den Bann. Nicht nur die Technik ist allerdings fremdartig, auch die Kultur und die Biodiversität, und dies ist etwas, was die Reihe von vielen anderen SciFi-Reihen unterscheidet. Jodorowsky glänzt erneut, wie schon im großartigen L'Incal noir, in Welterschaffung. Das vergleichbarste in Atmosphäre ist vielleicht noch Dune.
Nicht vergessen darf man Zeichner Gimenez, der die verrückten Ideen Jodorowsky kongenial inszeniert, die emotionale Kaltheit und gleichzeitig die Fremdartigkeit perfekt in Bilder gießt. Besonders die "prétresse-putain" Honorata, Hauptperson des Bands, ist eine Augenweide.
Die Wortschöpfungen dieser Reihe werden wohl in meinen täglichen Sprachgebrauch am Computer übergehen, vor allem das wirklich tolle "Bio-merde!".

J'aime beaucoup les deux petits robots qui se racontent l'histoire.
Tout ce volume me fait penser à Dune. Quand on connait la relation de Jodorowsky avec Dune, ce n'est pas bien étonnant, mais tout de même...

En esta entrega las ilustraciones no dejan de sorprender y saber que para crear un metabaron se necesita tanto un guerrero fuerte como una mujer astuta hace que sea más creíble el amor y a veces la falta del mismo puesto en la estirpe.

¿Cómo puede ser que continúe "La Casta" si el único Metabarón sobreviviente terminaba como terminaba al final del #1? Ah, porque Honorata tiene.... Claro, ya veo. Nunca una explicación tan bolacera me resultó tan interesante y bien puesta. Además, dentro del contexto de la historia, tampoco es que sea inverosímil. Me gustó reencontrarme con varios personajes del #1 cuando pensé que la historia iba a agarrar para otro lado, y que a su vez le dé espacio para desarrollarse a los nuevos. Nuevamente la dupla chileno-argentina de guión y dibujo hace maravillas, y el punto flojo me sigue pareciendo los diálogos, pero quizás por rápido acostumbramiento, quizás por no querer perderme lo importante, me chocó menos que en el tomo anterior. Eso sí, Tonto y Lothar me siguen pareciendo bastante boludotes e irritantes. Bien por Jodo si esa era su intención.

Mesmo depois de Othon ter ficado castrado e sem descendência possível salva o filho andrógino perfeito do casal imperador de 100.000 piratas e a imperatriz promete uma prenda que o deixará feliz . Um dia aparece honorata de uma seita de sacerdotisas shabda-oud que seduz othon e pelo qual ele se apaixona. Com uma gota de sangue dele honorata consegue gerar um filho, Agnar, mas as suas escravas loucas de ciúme tentam matar . Nesse momento othon salva honorata com um dardo de epífito que torna o seu filho mais leve que o ar.
A frustração de othon que a casta dos metabarões guerreiros vá desaparecer faz com que othon treine o seu filho durante 7 anos e que a seita shabda-oud que obrigou honorata a seduzir othon para gerar um andrógino que pudesse substituir o do imperador, faz com que eles tenham de se refugiar pois serão perseguidos por honorata ter traído a sua seita.

May 3, 2020Luego de terminar con una gran interrogante en el tomo anterior (¿Cómo Othon, el tatarabuelo, podría tener descendencia luego de ser mutilado en su zona genital?), Tonto narra a Lothar, como Othon gana la gracia de los Emperadores de la Galaxia a salvar a su hijo de los piratas, la llegada de Honorata, quien logra engendrar descendencia a Othon, el flotador Agnar; el secreto detrás de esto y como Honorata cría a su hijo en soledad por 7 años para demostrar que es digno sucesor del Othon. Tambien vemos como nace la tradición de las mutilaciones en esta poderosa estirpe de guerreros

Alejandro Jodorowsky'nin Meta-Baron serisinin ikinci kitabında, artık soyunu sürdüremeyecek hale gelen ilk Meta-Baron Othon'un bu unvanı nasıl kazandığı ve kendisine ihanet etmesi için eğitilen Honorata ile birbirlerine aşık olup nasıl bir çocuk sahibi olduğu anlatılıyor. Hikaya giderek artan bir tempoda Othon ve Honorata'nın çocukları Ahgnar'ın nasıl yenilmez bir savaşçı olduğunu göstererek final yapıyor.
Bu arada tüm hikayeyi bize aktaran robot Tonto ve onun iri yarı robot dostu Lothar hikayenin içinden çıkılmaz anlarında bir parça nefes almayı sağlıyor.

So I'm guessing that Jodorowsky basically throws here all the inspiration / ideas he had for his Dune adaptation which work in theory, but amount to nothing more than an edgier, brutish rip-off of the moments and characters from that book.
Hopefully he can move on and do his own thing in the next chapters because the world-building and illustrations by Gimenez are absurdly stunning and deserve a narrative on par.

Des naissances improbables, un baron complètement grandiloquent, des femmes qui ne sont au service que de l'homme. Heureusement Honorata dépasse son rôle destinée à satisfaire le baron et devient le maître d'armes et de pensées de son fils. Un parcours initiatique très difficile pour ce fils rejeté. Un Paul à peine caché. A suivre.

The art is still gorgeuous but this took too much sword & sorcery direction for me. Usually I'm can focus on plot, art and leave the rest aside, but here I had real problems with the characters. The young would speak about toxic masculinity. There are so many bad mental models here that the story is just nonsensical

Sempre più che splendidi i disegni di Jimenez, ed anche la storia non è male, seppur con caratteristiche comportamentali inaudite per gli esseri di oggi. Ma, dopotutto, è una storia fantascientifica, quindi tutto è plausibile.

The artwork is phenomenal and the story is just all kinds of messed up but it just flows so well.

Os grandes guerreiros não surgem do nada. Não surgem apenas de pontuais situações violentas. Surgem da intensa aprendizagem em enfrentar a dor e suprimir os sentimentos e, então sim, surgem de sucessivas situações pouco comuns, combinações raras e pouco prováveis que acabam por originar resultados excepcionais.
Neste caso a casta conta com o entrelaçar com uma temida Shabda-oud, uma linhagem de guerreiras e feiticeiras temidas com fama de conseguirem hipnotizar os comuns mortais. Sem receio da morte, Honorata é oferecida a Othon que se apercebe do espírito implacável da Shabda-oud e que a elege como sua companheira, apesar de desprovido de genitais.
Nada que uma feiticeira deste calibre não consiga contornar e da união de ambos resulta uma gravidez, alvo do ciúme das escravas de Othon, antigas amantes do guerreiro que se viram afastadas com a entrada de Honorata em cena. Loucas de ciúme tecem um plano para terminar com a gravidez e com a própria Shabda-oud. Um plano que não será totalmente bem sucedido mas que fará da criança um espécime anormal que Othon se nega a educar. Resta-lhe a mãe implacável e fria que o irá preparar para a prova de sobrevivência em que terá de enfrentar Othon.
A junção das duas linhagens produz uma criança capaz de negar a dor extrema, um futuro guerreiro capaz de sacrificar o que lhe é mais querido, que aprende a afastar-se dos sentimentos e que desconhece a expressão de amor, seja materno ou paterno. Apesar da extensa tecnologia do Império a guerra persiste e, entre vícios e corrupção, surge uma casta de guerreiros honrados mas duros que não se deixam subjugar por ninguém.

Othon, ättefadern
, slutade och berättar den fortsatta historien om Othon, hur han kom att bli Metabaron, och hur han finner Honorata som möjliggör ättens fortsatta överlevnad.
Det är fortfarande en storslagen space opera med vingslag av Dune i mixen, och Gimenez visuella stil fullkomligt sprakar på sidorna. Den mytos som byggs upp vidareutvecklas här i och med Honoratas roll som en Shabda-oud (häxa/prästinna) och ger fortsatt kraft åt släktkrönikan.
Givetvis finns även ramberättelsen med den nuvarande Metabaronens robotar kvar, och används på ett fruktbart sätt även denna gång.
På det hela taget en mycket trevlig läsning och jag väntar nu med spänning på att album nummer tre skall släppas på svenska.
