Can't Let Go - A Contemporary BWWM Romance
*****$0.99 For A Limited Time! Regular Price will be $3.99!*****
Wedding columnist Rashida Quentin will never forget the day her ex-boyfriend’s wedding announcement landed on her desk. Her fallback guy, the guy she’d dumped just months prior when things became a little too boring and predictable, was suddenly engaged to be married. But it wasn’t just that. His fiancé? Ridiculously stunning local news anchor, Ayla Giovanni.
Suddenly consumed with jealousy, Rashida is forced to reconcile feelings she never thought she’d feel towards him ever again. What did Ayla see in Antoine that she didn’t? And did she only want him because she couldn’t have him?
But when Rashida meets Kevin Harris, the striking, charming, and somewhat elusive detective who happens to live conveniently in the same apartment building as Ayla and Antoine, she’s forced to straddle the line between moving on and never letting go...

This book rubbed me up the wrong way. Rashida finds out that an ex- boyfriend (Antoine) is getting married to Ayla Giovanni, a local news anchor. Old feelings for Antoine resurface, even though Rashida was the one to end the relationship.
So she ends up like stalking his apartment sort of thing and meets up with Kevin Harris, a local detective. They end up dating but it's so obvious by the way the author wrote Kevin's character, that he wasn't really THAT interested in Rashida. I mean jeez, there were times when I was like literally shouting at Rashida to kick that guy to the curb. I also wanted to kick Kevin up his backside to get things moving along. It wasn't until further along in the book that I knew why his character stayed in the story so long.
Throughout the book, there are situations that occur that sort of put Rashida in the company of her ex Antoine and/or his fiancée Ayla, that plus she's always thinking about him.
Kevin, by my judgement is supposedly the male on the cover of this book, poor Antoine is described as having coffee stained teeth that are also misaligned, has dry flaky skin which is prone to acne, a jacked hairline and receding hair, he's also short with sloped shoulders from his wrestling days at university but he manages to have a pair of serene shade sea green eyes and is one of the nicest guys a girl could want to date, well okay hold me back why don't ya.
I felt that it took too long to get to the conclusion of all this and by then it didn't really leave a lot of happy feelings for me in the end. Yes, a catastrophe was avoided but it left a sour taste in my mouth, but .............. everything turns out in the end.
I feel kind of bad for writing this review but this is how I felt about the book, by all means if you like the storyline please read it, perhaps you will have a different take on the story than I did. Everybody has different tastes so someone is bound to give it 5 stars compared to my 2, who knows I may even change my mind and award it more stars if I re-read it sometime down the track.

Wow
That was not your typical book. Poor Antoine (the only real victim).I have a severe dislike for Kevin, and Ayla isn't rating to far up there for me either.
I don't know if there is going to be a second book, if there is I plan to read it.

Love me love me not
Rashida didn't want Antoine until he was engaged to someone else. She was becoming obsessed with him now that he had moved on.

What the hell did I just read? Seriously?

The story was not well developed, the characters were all over the place with their polar personalities, I felt no chemistry whatsoever between any of the characters, and the editing leaves a lot to be desired. It was very confusing from beginning to end especially with the random name changes throughout. I had to skim through a few sections because I just could not get through it. I'm actually surprised I finished it.
