RONE Award-winning author Casey Bond lives on a rural farm in West Virginia with her husband and their two beautiful daughters. She writes phoenixes – gloriously flawed and morally gray characters that fiercely rise from the ashes of their circumstances.

Worldbuilding is one of her favorite pastimes. She thinks thunderstorms are better than coffee and that watching a meteor shower is the closest thing to magic you might ever see. She’s a firm believer that every amazing book needs a world you want to wrap yourself in, a character you want to win, and a love you would fight for.

Casey is the author of When Wishes Bleed, Gravebriar, House of Eclipses, and Where Oceans Burn.

Fantastic! I wish there was more. I really enjoyed the story and the characters. The only problem was that it was short. The climax was like two seconds and I wish there would be been more but it was still a very enjoyable read.

Nice fast paced elemental story. I wish it was longer and had more character development, but it was an enjoyable read.

Liquid is a very interesting short story/novella that follows Merra, a girl that has the ability to control and manipulate water. I loved the concept behind Liquid but felt like it was almost a little too rushed, I really think it could have used another 50 or so pages so it didn't feel as though it was pretty much " here is the MC, here is some back story mixed with the conflict, and its over." This was the first of Casey's work I have read and while I wish it would have been longer I loved her writing style and am really excited to read more from her!

Meh

I like this author's other writing, but short form isn't for everyone, and it isn't easy. This novella was rushed, with things happening without any clear reason why. It's confusing to follow and unbelievable in many places. It could have been a longer novella for sure, with some of the scenes more fleshed out and some of the characters more sharply defined. As it stands, this reads like a freshman introduction to short fiction. Rewrite, clean up and sharpen, and it would be ten times better.

Short, Fun & Epic

What a fun little read!!
My only grief is that I would like more!

In this short story we follow a young elemental that just doesn't understand her gift and that she is so much more!
Always abused for her beauty and power, we watch her learn in a short time that she can love herself and others.
She just has to overcome her fear and embrace who she is!

You will love it!

This was a very intriguing short by Casey, I'm not surprised that I loved it. It is about a girl named Merra who can control water. I hope there is going to be more to this story
