This is great resource of just about everything anyone seems to have tried to improve sleep. Personally, I didn't learn anything new, but it reinforced some of the ideas I already had in mind, which pushed me to start doing them instead of thinking about them. The rest of the stuff in the book sounds like hocus pocus to me, but the placebo effect is a useful tool too. The tips that worked for me was the sunlight during the day and dim or red lights at night. I was dimming the backlights on my devices but not the rooms I was in, and going full dim after dark has really helped. I also make it to bed by 3am every night now (this recommends going at 10om; I am not about that life!).
What I DON'T like about this book is that it's often a resource of other resources. This would be fine if the author explained and then said find more information here or there. But, in many instances, it's literally a mere mention of a solution and then a link to a video or someone else's book. This book has a lot of links to videos, other books and products. I found this very annoying because I bought a book to have a self-contained resource, but to get everything this promises to offer, you'll need to click on a lot of links!
This book has a lot of good suggestions about how to fall asleep. It tells of a wide variety of tools from ones that could be useful to ones that could be dangerous. I learned I need to breathe better to sleep better. I probably also need a better pillow and mattress. I learned I could use more sunlight earlier in the day and less sugar/chocolate throughout the day.
The author of this book appeArs to have done extensive research. He offers many suggestions to help you be successful in your quest for a good restful sleep. Many suggestions are common sense and easy to incorporate ... Limit liquid intake before bedtime, elevate the top of your bed 2 inches higher than the foot of the bed, eliminate all light in your bedroom while sleeping ( or use red light rather than white or blue). He mentions many resources and encourages the reader to try the free simple solutions first and if necessary go on to others that have a cost. Buckwheat hull pillows are made and sold locally here in Nova Scotia, so I look forward to following the suggestion of using a buckwheat hull pillow. I have the e book version and it has many links to resources, explanations and exercises. I give the book 4 stars and recommend this book to anyone suffering from insomnia.

Some really helpful information in this book. It has made me aware of all the things I wasn't doing to ensure a good nights sleep and I am now getting better quality and much more sleep as a result.
I have had insomnia for nearly 40 years and have read many books and articles on the subject. But, this one was the most comprehensive one I've ever read. I am trying several of the suggestions and am already doing somewhat better. But as the author says, give each one a few weeks to see if it works. If not, then try something else. I learned about so many things I had never heard or read about, such as the Himalayan Salt lamps, the importance of nose breathing and the Buteyko Method of breathing, etc., etc. What a book this is. I plan to re-read it again in a few weeks to refresh myself on all that is in here
This compendium of sleep suggestions is complete with many useful methods for the insomniac. Also included are numerous links to products and more detailed methods. I didn't see anything that I did t already know of, but nonetheless, it is beneficial for this author to put it all in one place.
In the final analysis though, it's up to the insomniac to put these into effect and stick with a method until it either works for him or not.
