New team, same mission. Steve Rogers has formed a new Avengers unity squad compromised of humans, mutants and...Inhumans? A new threat to the Avengers is revealed. Wait, is that Deadpool on the cover? Is he seriously an Avenger now?
The Terrigen Mist Cloud has led to countless amounts of individuals undergoing terrigenesis. The majority of these people had no idea of their Inhuman heritage. This has lead to Steve Rogers Avengers unity squad to add an Inhuman to the team. Unfortunately the very thing that empowers Inhumans, poisons mutants.
Uncanny Avengers #1 is an interesting issue because Steve Rogers has put together quite the unexpected team. Any long term team that includes Deadpool seems questionable. Having a mutant and an Inhuman on the same team also provides some stressful situations. I imagine that story dynamic will be fully examined in the upcoming issues. It's a good start to this new lineup and hopefully the story remains interesting.
Uncanny Avengers is the third volume of a title originated by writer Rick Remender, who wrote the first two volumes, and Uncanny X-Force, its sort-of spiritual predecessor. The concept is the same as the first two volumes, this is unity squad assembled by Captain America. In the third iteration, Rogue is promoted to field leader, in place of a geriatric Captain America who remains as cheif strategist and runs the operational aspect of the team. This brings our Southern belle to full circles; long time readers would remember than in her first appearance, she took on the Avengers as a member of the Brotherhood.
In issue one, despite this being a unity team, it remains a concept foreign to this group. Spider-Man quits in a huff, unwilling to work with Deadpool, who has become indispensable to the team because of his newfound fame and marketing billions. The team acts a third faction, with Synapse representing the Inhumans. This creates friction with Rogue, who's suffering from Terrigen poisoning thanks to the Terrigen Mists that made mutant endangered species again. Meanwhile, a new Inhuman threat sprouts in Boston.
This is essentially a Deadpool team-up book featuring the Avengers. The writer of the regular Deadpool series, Gerry Duggan is scripting this book as one, adding to the over-exposure of the Merc with the Mouth. There's a lot to be done and this reader wished there were more characters added other than the Human Torch or the newcomer Synapse. This reader felt it needed a whole lot more Avengers cache. Still, Ryan Stegman's art saves this book from becoming a total bore.
This exceeded my expectations on SO many levels. The Big Bad was genuinely threatening and the interplay between the different team members in the face of such a menace was in turns hilarious, touching, authentic and terrifyingly chaotic. Recommended.
No. Read this book to see what all the hype was about with Rogue and Deadpool making out but it’s just so bad and the art does not fit. Probably just skip to the issue I’m looking for and never look back. Seems this was the time when the PTB’s were pushing the mutants out since they didn’t have the film rights and it showed in the stories.
Beda halnya dengan Fant4stic, Marvel mendukung marketing film Deadpool dengan menghadirkannya kembali dalam serial baru dari tim jadi-jadian buatan Steve Rogers tua, Uncanny Avengers.
Sayangnya, Spidey ogah gabung kalau Rogers tetap ngotot merekrut Deadpool.
Bubye deh, Spidey - Deadpool pairing up!
Eh, tunggu bentar, kayaknya ada seri Spiderman Deadpool deh.
What a "wicked pissah" indeed. This book was le suck. Aren't #1 issues supposed to be good jumping on points? I get it, I haven't been reading marvel for about 2 years now, but dang, is it really necessary to put Deadpool in the avengers? Oooooooook
Storia sconclusionata.
