This book in the series is really like a stand alone. It’s content is different from the first word. I liked the toughness of Maias and all that she endured to find her HEA. It’s a fairly short book.

If you’ve read any of the Shifters Forever After Dark series, you know about Maia a woman who was rescued and worked at After Dark before leaving suddenly. In Foreplay, we catch up to Maia and find out why she left as well as her motivations for going to Rome. I really enjoyed the pace of the story as well as the way the HEA played out—on many levels. I think of all the books I’ve read so far from the entire series, this one had my favorite ending—so far. . .

As much as I adored this couple, it felt like a chunk of information was missing. I would like to know more about Franco. I get that things happen fast and we’ve had hints of something being up with Mais for a couple of books now. Her story filled out nicely, but in the end, I felt I knew almost nothing about her mate. A few stats got tossed in, name, where he grew up, but that’s about it. Overall, I enjoyed the book, but this one was pretty forgettable. It lacked the heart of the rest of the series so far. Solid 3 stars. Guess ya can’t win ‘em all.

Maya and Franco...we jump into their story, practically in the middle. He's been following her for long enough to know her through and through. She's been running long enough that she takes quite a bit of convincing to trust him.

Quite enjoyed it. Love shape-shifter stories although I thought the title a bad choice but I guess the author couldn't think of another word beginning with "for."

This was a bit darker than the other books. I loved it. I was wanting to know Maia's story. Its really a sad and kinda tragic story. I felt really bad for what she and her twin sister went through. Although her sister was stuck with that sicko Manuel, she was sold to the underground fighting or lent out anyways. He totally wanted her back, sadistic prick that he is. Maia now works at a strip club and strips and meets Franco. He's had a colorful past as well and is basically an assassin sort of guy and mainly surveillance. His mark for a long time was Manuel and he saw Maia and he just knew she was his. He's kept tabs on her and watched her from afar. Fell in love with her without even meeting her. Which when you think about it...kinda stalker like! LOL. Besides the point though. Although he wasn't exactly a gentleman to her, he's a good guy and protects her with his life. Maia's lineage will surprise you but I am not giving that away. :) One downer is that I do wish they had more of a relationship or rapport on a personal level. There was just so much heavy stuff going on that the romance really didn't exist in this book. That's the only negative I can say otherwise I loved it. I love Shifters Forever and can't wait to read whats next!

Love the complicated story of Maia. She has had to flee Brazil leaving her twin and nephew in the hands of a very evil werebear.
Maia is a were leopard and now she is hiding in Rome by dancing in a strip club, wearing makeup to hide all her scars, hoping that Manuel will not find her... She also is hiding from the famed Tiero's because she thinks they would never accept her into their folds if they found her and knew she was the daughter of one of them. But little does she know that she's had a shadow for years, keeping her out of the clutches of the monster.
Franco has been shadowing Maia for years, not allowing her to know that he is there...He has seen all she has been through, but most importantly he loves her and so does his panther, but now he may have to let himself be known to her because he is feeling the thirst for blood every time she goes on stage.
Will Maia finally feel the love she has been denied all her life in the form of a black panther and of the white were tigers that control Italy, her family? Will she be able to rescue her twin and her son?
Very riveting and suspenseful story,

Maia is running from her past, Franco is watching his future. Both have secrets and trust will not be easily won. This is not quite as light as the other books we have seen from Ms. Thorne so far, as it delves deeper into the darkness that can be found in most living beings. Several twists and turns keep the pages turning and some truths about the past are brought to light. Both main characters were very complex creatures drawing you in and keeping you guessing. Maia's introduction in past storylines left a lot of unanswered questions for me. She would be mentioned but then forgotten making me wonder at her placement in the big picture. I have to say that once again Ms. Thorne threw me a curve as Maia's importance was revealed in this exciting tale. I love how the different series all come together to give you a better picture of this wonderful world created by this great author.

Another great book by Elle Thorne. Everytime I sit down with one of her books, I just consume it. Maia and Franco's story is different than what we are used to. Maia is on the run from a man that put her in caged fights and holds her sister by blackmailing her with their son. Maia escapes and goes to Rome where she thinks she is safe from Manuel. He has been following her around the world to get her back, but in walks Franco who knows she is his mate after following/spying on her for years. He has been tasked with killing Manuel, and since he knows everything Maia has been through Franco has no problem carrying out the task. But in the end he also helps reuniting Maia and her sister with their family.

Foreplay is book 4 of the Never After Dark series by Elle Thorne.
This book tells the story of Maia and Franco. I love this series. The characters are great. The story is awesome, interesting and very well written. If you like shifters this is the series for you. Ms. Thorne has written another good story. I highly recommend it.

Exciting and heart meltingly good
Suck a great premise! What wouldn't you do to save your family? This story is a quick hitting, raw story that will really touch your soul. Maia is is fierce, fearless and bold. Her backstory is sad and will make you angry at what her character has gone through, but admiring of what she can do. This story read fast, the action kept popping. I really enjoyed reading it!

Finally Maia's Book!!!!
I can't believe we are finally finding out all about Maia. It's been long in the making. She is the strongest of all the alpha females. She has lived through Hell and she is still going. Elle did such a wonderful job with Maia. I can't wait to see what's in store for her throughout the series.

Fantastic
Wow, this book was full of suspense, adventure, love, and revelations, I absolutely loved it! Poor Maia and all she has been through, but finally there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Best of the series. Complete back story and then a little chase. Taking care of a bad guy. Nice little bedroom scene to end it.

Read this a while ago, no clue why Goodreads doesn't have it makes as read still. Pretty decent, but a bit darker than most of her books.

What you read in the description is what you get plus a tad more action. It was good though.
