Almost forty years after the end of the end of the war, Claire Baum opens a package from a stranger in Rotterdam, unleashing a flood of repressed memories from her childhood.

First of the Holocaust Survivor memoirs I’ve got to read. A perspective of the Holocaust given from a woman’s memories as a 5-7 year old. Amazing. Someone saved letters and pictures she and her sister had sent to their parents during their hiding and she used those to recount their experience. Amazing.

Personne n'a dénoncé tante Nel.

This book was about two young girls surviving the Holocaust and was written from one of their perspectives. It disgusts their memories and even showed some pictures of their letters. This book was more of a family keepsake scrapbook journal type novel compared to other autobiographies. That type of writing style isn’t appealing to me but if that’s something you enjoy reading then this would be a great book for you

Great testimony

This true story of survival by a Dutch Jewish girl during WW II brought back lots of memories. My mother also hid a family of four for 18 months in the Netherlands. The author's stories and explanations of her circumstances corroborated what my mom told me about her experience. My mother's name is also at Yad Vashem.
