This book is about Mary, Edgar and Mr Blood as they receive a letter telling them to solve the Crow Hall mystery. As they enter the dark house Edgar goes missing, Mary and Mr Blood search for him. As they discover the house itself sent the note and kidnapped Edgar they then realise the fact that birds nest high. After discovering Edgar half eaten they save him and return to the hall after finding the true secret they leave never to return to Crow Hall.
