Great overview of EOs!! Helpful information for new essential oil users, including how to dilute, diffuse and use neat. Also includes recommendations of which oils to use for certain ailments. Great read!!
This eBook on essential oils was better than the last one I read. This author apparently had a competent editor to help him get rid of a majority of the typos and other errors the book by another author had left in his book. Essential Oils is arranged neatly into six chapters, plus an introduction. It tells what essential oils are, a history of their use, how to find pure essential oils, how to use them (aromatically, topically and internally), safety precautions and how essential oils work in our bodies.
In addition to this eBook, the author also has a website and other publications and offers an online course for folks who want to learn more about essential oils. I found it highly irritating that this book was full of links to said publications and website. If you are going to cover a topic, cover it thoroughly in one book. Don't send people to get further information from some other source when you could just as easily talk about it right there! Talk about "shameless self-promotion"!
The best part of the book is in chapter four, where the author finally gets down to the nitty-gritty: telling you how to administer the healing qualities of essential oils. The author talks about diffusers, sprays and other ways of getting essential oils into the air; putting it onto your skin through hot baths, compresses, massage, etc.; and then how to administer food-grade oils in drops, capsules, drinks and food. Chapter six is better still, when the author tells you specifically what oils to use and how to help with weight loss, detoxification, breathing, digestion, general immune support, pain relief, sleep aid, skin care and mood management.
If you are interested in essential oils and are just getting started, this is a well-written, easy-to-read and understandable primer on the subject. While the frequent links and ads to the author's other resources are irritating, there is some good, useful information to be had if you are willing to overlook the shameless self-promotion.
This book gives you everything you’ll need to know about essential oils. How to search for flowers herbs etc to make your own oils and all the how to instructions. It will help you determine which oils are best for you and what you want to use them for in your life and how to heal what ails you. It also goes into which oils ( olive, jojoba etc) go best with your essential oils to make your best soaps, scrubs and lotions. You can’t go wrong with this book for making the most effective use of the world of oils
This book speaks to the correct use and importance of getting pure grade oils and why. There is an annoying link that you think is taking you to the recipe for the ailments they are talking about but it takes you to the same as for a coffee cup.
I would have like to have had some actual recipes but still found this information helpful and interesting.
Useful information, rather accurate with good advice and suggestions for methods of use, could include more safety measures as well as contraindications, however of looking into the free course and ebook they are unavailable.

Decent overview. Not much actual How-to instructions.
This book gives a decent overview of the basics of Essential oils: history, quality, terms. The book is abt 25 pages and only abt 5 discuss the specific oils and their use. Non of the links to reference material or the free book work. Overall the book is is laid out well and easy to read. I'm just not sure that the information is useful. There is not much actual How-to instruction included.
Safely use oils, how they work with different applications, history of use, lots of info normally skipped over in lue of recipes. Oils for the most common ailments and how best to ingest. Great resource. Also includes 7 day video tutorial and downloadable recipe book. I feel the author is a reliable source of accurate information.
I did learn a few things I didn't already know, and they didn't charge for the book. That is why I rated it so high. After learning that it was a ploy to get your information, so they can recruit you into selling do Terra Essential oils, I was disappointed. Although I do wish the Halls well in their adventure.
The suggestions of different essential oils for various issues, seems very knowledgeable and helpful.
The authors seem to be quite knowledgeable about which essential oils to use for various issues, ailments, reliefs, and remedies. It's well-written and seems to cover many of the basics. It would be a helpful reference book for my library.
Typical run-of-the-mill book, some good pieces, but most of this information can be compounded into pins on Pinterest. I would recommend for someone that has absolutely no basis in using essential oils, anyone who has read a few blogs or a book this is very basic and no need to read.
IF YOU HAVE JUST STARTED YOUR RESEARCH! It is well written, but title a bit misleading. Says you can have the recipes, and you can, IF YOU SIGN UP for their class and more information. I'm not willing to give out my info, to have someone to either take advantage or to hound me to BUY more stuff.
All I can say is I know where i can go to find an online resource. Very minimal on the details for this beginner. I'm back to searching for a book with practical information on what different oils can be used together and the recipes, if you will, of how to use them together. I just didn't find this to be very useful to me at all.
This is a fast read that is packed with knowledge that can help one to understand and appreciate the value of essential oils for quality living. A handy guide that you can keep going back to for detailed uses of these gems that we are blessed to have from nature 's bounty.
Definitely a beginners guide for essential oil usage. This book offered various uses of essential oils for different situations. However, no specifics were offered such as X amount of drops per Y. I would have found that detailed information useful as well. The link to the free seven day course and fifty recipes came up as a 404 error for me.
The book covers many situations where essential oils are helpful. It gives applications as well as recommended oils. The information is very brief and leaves one with questions and curiosity.
Anyone who wants a quick intro and resource for essential oils. Gives list of oils for general everyday use. Will be referring to this book in near future.
I just purchased essential oils and I wanted to be able to do more things with besides just using a diffuser. There are great recipes and instructions for how to use oils for improving health and wellness.
Some of the links in the book did not work. This includes the author's own book and course links. How does one find high quality essential oils? The book is helpful in some respects, but leaves more questions than answers for me.
A lot of this e-book is generic information that you can find anywhere. None of it was new to me. I appreciated the end of the book, though. A list of issues or ailments and then appropriate essential oils is helpful.
