This was a rule Starr Fields could follow. After searching for years, she finally found what she thought was home. A place where she could go in, keep a bar between her and the customers, pour drinks, make good money, and go home. A place where she didn’t have to worry about her mama’s boyfriends thinking she was fair game. A place where she could simply be.
Bryant Harrison was new to Karim, Texas. After years of moving around and buying one company after another, he threw a dart on a map and decided to move his home base from New York City to where it landed. Now he had every failing business man in town trying to get him to take their problems away.
One glance was all it took for these two to know this was going to be more than a casual meeting. Their feelings were growing quickly as the air became crisp and the leaves changed color. As Halloween approaches, it would seem the unknown monster that hunted Starr wasn’t going to just watch from the shadows for much longer.
Can Bryant be her Knight in Shining Armor and save her in time, or will she slip away as quickly as they fell in love?

I was loving this story until the far-fetched plot twist with a sicko came up. After that I couldn't wait to be done with it so I could read something else.

This book is a part of a multi author series where each book is a standalone, yet they all take place at the same exclusive club. I think this series is a really cool idea. I liked this novella. It is a quick, sexy read with some serious suspense in it. It is a fun read and now I want to read all the other books too! This one focuses on a bartender in the V.I.P. section of The Club. Starr Fields has had a nomadic existence growing up. Her mom moved her around a lot and had a revolving door of boyfriends who took too much interest in Starr. For that reason, she took off at 18 and has been bouncing around until she landed in Karim, Texas. Now that she found a great job that she likes, she is making this place home. She never really got why women got all fired up about sex. She never seemed to get that out of it. So she just doesn't bother dating or any of it. She can appreciate a sexy looking man, but that's about it. Until one night when she locked eyes with Bryant Harrison is an incredibly successful businessman who has decided to move to Karim, Texas from New York City. He has come to buy up another business, so when the owner of the business takes him to The Club, he wasn't expecting to find his mate. When their eyes met, it was electric. Neither one was looking for it, but the chemistry is off the charts. Unfortunately, someone else has their eye on Starr. It is someone she never expected to be crazy. Starr is in real danger, but can Bryant save her in time? This book is a great quick read that grabs you and leaves you wanting more. Go check out the series, and grab this book. It is perfect for a suspense read.

I have a love/hate relationship with Novellas. I love them because you can read in one sitting. I hate them because you can read them in one sitting.

Starr Fields have found her happy place in a small town- Karim, Texas working at "The Club". She loves her job tending bar and being the highlight show as well. Who knew she could feel safe at a BDSM club but she does. She keeps to herself and just want to "be". Ricky, another co-worker has always be very helpful and if he had his way, would want more that friendship. But Starr is grateful, RIcky isn't one of those "pushy" guys wanting more.
Bryant Harrison- a very successful business man decides he needs a change and throws a dart onto a map and moves from New York City to Karim. Who does that???? Bryant is invited to "The Club" and decides to attend. Best idea ever. Now he can't get Starr out of his mind after her Hoop routine.
But someone has other ideas as to who Starr belongs to and it's not Bryant.
Again for a novella, this book packs a lot of story and it's a great one.

This was an exciting story from beginning to end! Loved it!! Ever meet someone and felt like it was love at first sight? Starr and Bryant can't deny that there is something between them. They agree to just let it happen but someone else has dark plans for Starr.
There are some mature/violent scenes in this book so proceed with caution.

Too short:) wanted more. Hope M Stratton writes a novel about Starr and Bryant. Would enjoy reading more of a back story on Bryant. Recommend this novella to everyone.
