Titan Comics, in association with Universal Pictures and NBC announces the launch of all-new Heroes graphic novels, to coincide with the upcoming series Reborn
The new Reborn graphic novel series is being created in close collaboration with the team behind the actual show, which is premiering on NBC in late 2015. The saga behind the 2006 breakout series "Heroes" will continue this fall as creator Tim Kring returns to the fold and develops new layers to his original superhero concept.
This highly anticipated 13-episode event series will reconnect with the basic elements of the show's first season, where ordinary people were waking up to the fact that they had extraordinary abilities.
Funny how things turn out. I thought art one the comics done for Heroes Seasons One and Two were great and stories were somewhat uneven. (Probably because the comics tried to introduce stuff that was going to be used on the show, but sorta fizzled out when they did.) But since seasons one and two were web comics, they were sorta restrained by pacing issues.
But here... they did the smart thing going with a print comic. More space means the story was allowed the space to do what it wanted to do, have room for its own themes characters and stories. It gave it the time to linger. Which ISN'T a bad thing.
It's weird to say this but the worst season of the actual show probably gave us one of the best comics based on the series.
