On the way from Delhi to Jaunpur in eastern Uttar Pradesh is the dusty town of Badshahpur. Even in this nondescript settlement, people receive money via mobile transfer from family members working in distant cities. There are computer training centres offering diploma courses in Bhojpuri, Hindi and English. Here is an example of India's numerous remote towns that have skipped the stage of basic learning and landed straight into digital literacy as they strive to keep up with the times.
In his last book, A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, writing with Srijan Pal Singh, draws upon examples ranging from entrepreneurship in places like Badshahpur to a sophisticated missile programme like Agni to show how it can be 'Advantage India' in the final lap of the journey to 2020--the landmark year by which he had envisioned the country could transform into an economic power. Abdul Kalam, was one of India's most distinguished scientists. He was an Aerospace engineer, professor, and chancellor of the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST), who served as the 11th President of India from 2002 to 2007. During his term as President, he was popularly known as the People's President.
Before his term as India's president, he worked as an aeronautical engineer with DRDO (Defence Research and Development Organisation) and ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation). He was responsible for the development of India's first satellite launch vehicle,the SLV-3 He is popularly known as the Missile Man of India for his work on development of ballistic missile and space rocket technology. Kalam played a pivotal organisational, technical and political role in India's Pokhran-II nuclear test in 1998, the first since the original nuclear test by India in 1974.
He has the unique honour of receiving honorary doctorates from thirty universities and the country's three highest civilian honours - Padma Bhushan (1981), Padma Vibhushan (1990) and Bharat Ratna (1997).

Amazing book! There are few books which gives you an impression that, why haven’t i read it before? It’s exactly that kind of book. Really thought provoking and practical book from Mr. Kalam. Now I wish to read every book by him!

A nice book to read. This books gives you an insight to look and think about something in a diffrrnt way. This books explore the hidden Advantage which can be the Advantage for India. The discussion between a buffalo, Thourium & a fighter plain at the end was unique way to explain how we are running behind things which having a low presence at India ignoring the things which having a large presence.

The book is written in line with modern aspects of India towards progression of mission 2020.The book has covered all the vital aspects of Indian economy.Our beloved Dr. Kalam has stressed upon indigenous solutions in achieving nation's development. He had also highlighted how we had in thepast been able develop end to end home made missile development,nuclear power along with space programme like IRNSS amidst lack of support from top notch nations.
Dr Kalam had mentioned A-B-C Model of production in Indian style.Moving ahead in the book you will find newer ways to deal with political challenge and the need of hour in transforming administrative services based on generalist and specialist approach.This book is a must for everyone including youngsters, politician, civil service personnel,journalist,doctors. The chapter on 21st century political system is a must for politician. It had stressed upon party manifesto which is outcome oriented with clear cut vision.Currently all parties lags such kind of manifesto.
There is no word to describe the greatest of our dearest Dr Kalam,with his last bequest to the nation he had proved this again in this book.Finishing this book review with the lines he spoke at European Parliament which has the power to transform citizens,its nation and the world -

Excellent Book to give insight about how to build future India by transforming contemporary societies with various reforms at multiple fronts. It talks about reforming various policies at structural level and come up with various new multidimensional institutions to transform our demographic dividend into skilled workforce and future entrepreneurs. Another gem of a book by our late President. As we can understand that Dr. A. P .J Abdul Kalam discusses about the important problems or challenges faced by India in present times. It also discusses about the solutions to these challenges. But the question remains is the message reaching to right people?

Advantage IndiaA From Challenge to Opportunity- A P J Abdul Kalam and Srijan Pal Singh- It is a motivating well researched book about how India can achieve status of a developed nation by solving development issues like 1-Productivity, 2- human resource development, 3- health and nutirition, 4- Going Digital, 5- New political structure for better administration, 6- clean water and less carbon di oxide in atmosphere for all, 7- housisng -dwelling for all. The book describes various journeys made by the author to educational institutions round the world, discussed the aboe issues with students and leaders. The book covers historial story, analyses statistical data and lays down targets to be achieved. The book concludes about how the world should unite and find solution to problems like climate change, develop a universal knowledge platfrom which can shared with all- students, universities, government agencies, educationist, industralist and others to make a peaceful world. One striking fact which has been shown is that Indian reserach is not linked with industry. It is need of the day that there must be close connection on what products are necessary for the future and how research can focus and develop these. It is a class book which is a must read for all.

Disadvantage...India. The book puts on rose-colored glasses when looking at India’s problems. The west stopped India from becoming nuclear but India stubbornly persisted in creating weapons of massive destruction independently - while still leaving millions of citizens in poverty...hurray. A small tea shop owners is heralded as a creative entrepreneur instead of being seen as an individual locked into a low-income life. It seems the only way for India to gain an advantage (for Mr. Kalam) is for it to trounce on the world’s resources and and less developed peoples as other nations have. Material advantage, not ethical or moral advantage, seems to be the soul concern to Mr. Kalam. Th India proposed in the book looks a like a polluted, violent, and competitive future where each country continues to think solely about its own advantage only.

The last book of Dr Kamal is a good refreshing read especially who are more concerned of future Indian policies and it's implementation.
