This book was a basic birth-type book written from a more natural-less intervention POV. Every once in a while, the author threw in some LDS related commentary, but I wish there had been more.

She only spent about 1/2 page on NFP/FAM which was disappointing and while much of her breastfeeding info was outdated, the books and resources she recommends were top-notch (keep in mind this book was published in 1996, so I expected some outdated info).

All in all, if a woman is looking for a more spiritually-centered pregnancy and birth, i think she would be much better served by the new book, "the Gift of Giving Life"
