4.75 "horror/thriller and a half" stars

"Cause it's a thriller night...and no one's gonna find you..."

Legends, werevolves, full moons...hocus pocus, bullshit. Welcome to Wolf River.
Enjoy your stay.

A man torn apart, a man secluded from his community cause he hides the monster within

When Erin, a private investigator comes into a little mystery town called Wolf River to uncover the real truth behind gross and horrid murders, things go rapidly wrong as she uncovers the hidden secrets, lies behind the mystery, the cover-ups, she irrevocably falls in love with the man whose secrets could ruin her...and his obsession for her only brings out more tension in their struggle to stay away from each other until it's too late for both of them.

The power of these cravings were undeniable. The human in me teased the thought of feeling something again - love, compassion, a bond with another. The killer in me wanted all of it with her being the cherry on topp. It frightened me to think of who might win.

"You want me - I'm fucking dying to have you. Stop denying what we both want and come let me taste you."

and the ultimate truth she could never had imagined as a possiblity becomes her ONLY REALITY, her life is on the line changing it from the core as she knows it, for eternity.

Our fairytale was just beginning. It was dark and twisted, founded in a cursed town, lined with the blood of the past. We were the monsters, and although I knew our future was uncertain, one thing was for sure.
I had found love.
It was real...

This is by far one of the most intriguing stories I have read in a MYSTERY/THRILLER genre.
It has horror element in it, but it's so phenomenaly wrapped up in action, filled with sequences of complex human characterisation described through literal physical transformation.
And yet it can be looked at as another way to portray the layerd, complicated and complex emotions, inner struggles and doubts that characters face at the crossroads while figuring the messed-up life out.

Once again, I am in awe of a fantastic writing, fluent smooth flow of the events, stirring action and pulsating vibrant emotional break through...

Erin goes to Wolf River in search of a killer that the town is putting off as a wild bear. Her first night there she's in an accident that sends her car off the road right near Alex's cabin. Alex has secluded himself from people every since he was the only survivor of a bear attack years before. But what the town doesn't know is that it wasn't a bear, it was a werewolf, and he's secluded himself from them because now he's one too.

Erin gets entangled in the towns secrets that go back far too long, and she finds herself needing Alex's help. There's an attraction between her and Alex but she's already lost a lot in her life and she isn't ready to loose any more. But Alex isn't going to let her go as easily as she thinks.

This was my first book by Alaska Angelini, but it certainly will not be my last. Wolf was a captivating story and I was sucked in from the first chapter. There was suspense, intrigue, and some very sexy times that brought this book together and made it great. I liked the way the story was told and there were little hints throughout the book as to what was really going on in Wolf River and it kept the story really interesting.

I'm used to reading Shifter books about characters that have been born with special abilities and can shift to different animals, so this book was something different for me. When I first realized that it was about werewolves that are made that way from being attacked I was a little taken back and unsure of how I would feel about that. But Alaska made it very believable, as crazy as that sounds, and I ended up really liking it.

Bottom line, this is a unique, and riveting story that any fan of the paranormal genre will like. The story had the perfect mix of suspense and heat, and Alex and Erin both were great characters. I can't believe I haven't read this authors other books, so I'll definitely be checking those out.

Wow! This book was action-packed and kept me turning the pages. I have to be honest and say I’m not a huge paranormal fan so I only read them every once in a while. But I am a huge Alaska Angelini fan, and this book is one of the reasons why! Who else can write about a werewolves and make it dark, sexy, and oh, so good?!

“Don’t go into the woods alone. Especially at night. Out of the darkest nights can crawl the deadliest creatures. Best to remember that if you’re going to be staying here.”

Staying inside, especially after dark, is nothing new to the residents of Wolf River. There are rumors of deadly creatures roaming at night. However, when Erin Billings comes to town to investigate an animal attack, she learns things the hard way.

After an accident when something knocks her off the road, Erin is even more determined to find out what is killing animals and people in this unusual town. She is immediately drawn to Alex, the one who finds her at her accident. However, Alex doesn’t let anyone get close.

“I was alone. I would always be alone. There was no hope for me. Not in life, and certainly not in love.”

When the two finally give into their temptation, it is hot as hell.

“I can taste how much you want to come. Give it to me, Erin. Give me what I want.”

But how can a man who relies solely on himself, finally let someone in? Will he, or will he permanently be alone?

I thoroughly enjoyed this story. It was dark and twisted. It was sexy and steamy. It was action-packed. It was full of emotion and love. Even if you are not a huge paranormal fan like me, I think you will enjoy this book if you like your books hot with a dominant alpha and a strong heroine! ~ Tiffany, 4 stars

This was about a town, Wolf River, who has had a rash of mysterious killings. Believed to be a bear attack by most, one of the victims father (this is the second child he lost) decides to bring in a private investigator (Erin, the female MC). The town is shrouded in mysterious tales of things in the woods that none of the towns people will wonder around the woods at night. Spooky.

Ok so the story started out intriguing. filled with mystery, a loner guy (Alex -- who we already know is a werewolf off the bat), and his attraction to Erin. Alex is a loner ever since he was bit and turned by an unknown werewolf, which the same werewolf also killed his friends. So he has been searching for this werewolf for sometime. These werewolves are not like the ones I usually read about. Would I want to be in a dark alley with any of them?? umm NO. They eat people. They are not sexy or suave or hot. They are killers. In fact 3 young boys went missing 12, 13, 14 ish in the story and guess what? One of the werewolves got them and was munching on their intestines. Ok yeah so this werewolf was a deranged one but Alex had to fight this "wanting" to kill and eat Erin.

So when the story started to reveal who the maker of Alex is and who the other werewolves were it just stared to really go down hill for me. It just didn't make sense to me. I didn't have that "Ohhhh now i see" moment. It was like WTF?

I will say that the author does really write a great sex scene.

From the first paragraph to the last, Alaska Angelini had me hooked, caught and completely captivated. Wolf brings you a world where obsession, lust, danger, and mystery all combine into one fantastic mindblowing story. It had my heart pounding and my mind racing the whole time. Alaska Angelini has completely made me crave the paranormal again, first with her Marko Delacroix Series, bringing back the darkness to the vampires I had always loved, and now with Wolf. Wolf has everything I wanted and more, bringing back the creatures of nightmares that I have been missing for years.

“Blood. Hers-mine. It perfumed the air, mixing with earth and pine to make the most mouthwatering fragrance I had ever smelled.”

Erin is a former detective turned private investigator after losing her partner and fiance. She's called to investigate a cold case of a dead girl that local police are calling it an open and shut case of a bear attack. Erin soon discovers that the small secluded town of Wolf River seems to harbor it’s own secrets and superstitions about the long list of missing people and supposed animal attacks. As her growing attraction to one of her suspects Alex Villani grows she starts to feel there might be something more the to the stories, but will her determination to unravel the town secrets put her in danger of becoming another name in the town legends.

“He had a fire inside of him that called to me. For the first time in forever, I didn’t want to consider the consequences. I just want to burn.”

Wolf kept me guessing the whole time up until the end. I fell in love with Erin and Alex as they were both broken but incredibly strong in their own ways. Watching them battle their inner demons and then giving into them was amazing to read. Both characters had explosive chemistry and it showed in all their interactions. The more I dived in I felt more connected to both main characters as Alaska once again put me in a world I didn’t want to leave. I’ve already read this story three times and I’m still just in love with it as the first read through.

“You’re going to want to come again soon, but you’re not going to. You’re going to wait until I say. I want to taste you again. I want what’s mine.”

So if you are looking for a paranormal that brings you a super hot, dirty talking alpha with a dark animalistic edge that will have you melting where you sit with an equally intriguing story that will keep you on the edge of your seat, you have to get on this book ASAP. 5 stars are not enough for this story.

I don't know where to begin to even make my review say half of what I felt while reading Wolf. Alaska put me in a world unlike anything of hers that I have read before. I was literally hanging on every word that she wrote trying to figure out where she was going with this story. I love all of her work and how she puts twists and turns into each chapter that you have no clue what the outcome will be and she gave me that and more with this book. Erin is such a strong character for what she has been through in the past and I understand why Alex was drawn to her from the very first moment since his past was also horrible. Since Erin is trying to find out what has been killing all these people, it puts her in harms way and I felt my heart stop a couple times right along with hers. My mind was spinning trying to figure everything out. All I can say about Alex is just WOW. He's hot, alpha and just so sexy he will have you melting on every word. Once him and Erin meet, sparks fly and the attraction is off the charts. Bravo Alaska!!! Get ready to devour this after you one-click.

From the first poetic line, to the final chapter, Wolf had me glued to my kindle.

I've been a fan of Alaska Angelini since Slade: Captive to the Dark, and been anxiously awaiting each new offering since. With each book, Alaska Angelini’s prowess as a writer grows in depth and skill, and that mastery shines through on each page in this story.

Wolf is the story of Erin, a former detective turned private eye, who travels to a secluded town in Wisconsin to solve a mysterious murder. Faced with a deep-seated town legend, endless suspects and an unexpected attraction to a man with secrets, Erin’s determination to solve a murder, may result in her own.

Wolf is a different spin on paranormal romance. It's content relies on storyline, not the occult to keep you glued to your seat.

If you are interested in a paranormal romance with a dark twist, an amazing storyline incredible sex scenes, then Wolf is the one-click for you.

This is a 3.5 read. The reason it didn't make it to a 4 is it had segments that I felt were too drawn out leaving me skimming.

A good tale with a strong female lead, who, let's face it became fairly annoying. The mystery element was well planned, complete with sexy tall, dark and brooding love struck suspect.

A good solid novel with go for it sexual feats.

Alex's story pulled at my heart strings. To live as a human for the majority of his life and because of circumstances beyond his control, he is now only part human. He believes living as a recluse is best for everyone. Until bodies start stacking up in their little town. Erin accepts a case from victim's family. The enncounter leads her directly to Alex and major drama her first night in Wolf River.

With this case, Erin takes on more than she can handle. Town secrets, manipulation, and the chemistry with Alex to name a few. How much more can she handle? She needs Alex's help but she wants it without the "other" benefits. Alex is set on convincing her otherwise.

I've read quite a few paranormal stories and Wolf is one of the best I've ever read. The story is very believable and I love how both characters evolve throughout the story. The scenes are realistic, the chemistry is super hot, and there is a maturity present which add another dimension to this paranormal bestseller!

I absolutely believe this story is worth a second, third, and fourth read. Alex is a true alpha male and his skills are definitely legendary! #teamalex

Wolf was a great read!! WOLF (Wolf River Book 1) by Alaska Angelini

My first dive into Alaska Angelini’s world and I must say I wasn’t disappointed.

Alex’s isolation and Erin’s grief draws these two together. I enjoyed reading along as their relationship evolved and developed. Alex is a hot and sexy Alpha full of mystery, with secrets and suspicions surrounding him. Which in turn made things more challenging and intense for Erin, as she works through her case and the bond they are developing.

I enjoyed how Alaska weaved the story along; making for a very engaging read. I would love to know more about how the relationship developed between Alex & Erin. Although this is a standalone, I wonder if and suspect that Alaska has more in store for Alex/Erin & Wolf River (and let’s not forget Caleb)?!

Five plus plus Fantastic Stars! Erin is sent to Wolf River to investigate a girl's death. From the moment she arrives she notices things are not normal. Alex is definitely the alpha male and protector when it comes to Erin. Erin and Alex have a strong attraction to one another. When they are together all I can say is hot, hot. Soon she will discover the secrets of Wolf River and will be unable to leave. I have read several books by Alaska and loved them all but this one I'd have to say is my favorite. Her writing takes you into the world of the wolves and you feel every bit of their pain. I highly recommend it!! I can't wait to read more by Alaska.

I received this book as an ARC for an honest review. This book was read and reviewed by Annamaria for Alpha Book Club.

Erin has been sent to a town called Wolf River to investigate a killing of a young girl. People say bears, others say wolves but folklore says it could be werewolves. Erin doesn't know what to think, all that she knows is that she will do everything in her power to solve this case. What she doesn't expect is to meet Alex, the town recluse. 10 years ago, Alex was attacked in the same manner as the girl was but he survived. Erin knows that there is something different about him. She is instantly attracted to the dominance that Alex portrays but she is hesitant and scared at what she feels towards him.

"The emotion was one I hadn't felt in so long that it had me taking a step back. The action was mirrored with Alex taking three steps forward. Regardless of my conflicting responses, the fear suddenly overpowered everything. The look on his face...it was as if he knew my body was betraying my instincts."

The chemistry between Erin and Alex was electrifying. Even from the very beginning I felt that they were well matched. The feelings that they have towards one another was real to me, it wasnt rushed in the amount of time that these characters had to fall in love. Alex pushes her but I think it is needed so that she can understand why he does the things that he does. She has to step back and think about things. But make no mistake, Alex wants her though, any way he and his wolf can get her.

"Temptation. It rages a war within me. I could tear her throat out right now if I wanted. There was nothing I couldn't do to her helpless form. The fact that I wasn't harming her as of yet was the only thing leading me forward"

But he understands why she feels the way that she does about her feelings towards him. He understands that she is scared and that she needs time. She still has to solve the murder in his town and to keep his secret about his wolf. There are more attacks and it has to be now more than ever for Erin to figure out what is going on in this town before it is to late for any of them.

This story for me was just awesome! I was hooked from the get go. I'm going to be honest here. Shifters has always been my thing with paranormal stories. Something about the alpha and dominance just does it for me. I thought she portrayed that really well with all these characters. One thing too is that their vulnerability also made them all the more real to me. With being so engrossed in the story I felt that I had witness their emotion as well as they did. It had given me all the feels!!! I fed of that emotion between the human and wolf point of view's. It was a good distinction between the two because at the end of the day even though they are apart of the same person, I liked that they had two different personalities.

This story had all sorts of twist and turns that I didnt know what was going on until the end. This was one wild ride! I cant wait for more!!

Received as an ARC for an honest review.

I have read almost every book Ms. Angelini has written and this one did not disappoint. It is a beautifully written paranormal romance between human and werewolf. I love her vampire series and now I am hooked to her werewolf series!!! Okay now on to the review.

Wolf has our two main characters Alex and Erin, which by the way, Alex is the perfect hot alpha male!
"Blood. Hers-mine. It perfumed the air, mixing with earth and pine to make the most mouthwatering fragrance I had ever smelled."
I loved how the reader can truly feel and imagine how much Alex and Erin needed each other, not just physically but emotionally.
Okay, so Alex has been a werewolf for some years now and has isolated himself from friends and family since becoming a werewolf. Erin is a former detective now an investigator who comes to a small town to investigate the killing of a young girl, which the victim's father believes is more than just a simple bear killing. The plot has unbelievable twists and has you wanting to try and solve it to the very end.
Now, you have Caleb and Wolf. Yes, Wolf has personal chapters throughout the book which I honestly loved because it truly separates human from wolf, giving the reader the true separation of both characters and their struggles.
"My humanity was gone. The glimpses of everyday life I still received were vague. If I wasn't taken over by my wolf, the fog I drifted in left me stumbling through a routine I was quickly forgetting. I was doomed-infected with the one thing our kind feared the most-bad blood."
And now finally we have Caleb, the towns detective, who is the pinnacle character in manipulating the story in a way that can only be understood by reading Wolf.
I'm super excited to see where Ms. Angelini takes us next. Hopefully it will be based on Caleb. Happy reading! I know I did :)

I have conflicting feelings about this book.

Sooo... Erin is a detective, well a private investigator, she gets hired to investigate a murder in the area. She knows it's not a bear but she can't admit its a werewolf even if the legends and the police reports say otherwise.

Then there is Alex, a loner, and well..... a werewolf. We know right of the bat. So Alex is attracted to Erin to the point of obsession.

He knows he can't have her because, well he's a werewolf, and Erin doesn't want to blur the lines and sleep with a suspect.

I loved Erin, and I also I loved Alex.

So here is where I complain, no spoilers.

So the story is cruising along, Erin and Alex have dinner, one thing leads to another. He saves her life, then the do the thing thing.

My complaints was there was no build up, it was  like BOOM. Like I wasn't ready.

wasnt-ready

Now don't get me wrong the scene was banging, its just wasn't the right timing in my opinion.

I won't  say the mystery was surprising, I didn't see it coming, but the reason I didn't see it coming is because there was not hints. It wasn't like "Oh I get it". I had no clue who the bad guy was and I didn't get any suspects.

Lastly the ending. It was like the mystery is solved, the bad guys are gone, THE End.

11 need some more

So If this was smut, which I wouldn't have paid 4.99 for, then it would have been a solid 4 stars.

WOW!!!! Now this was a shifter/were read like no other, it's more than dark, it was gruesome at times and damn, I love every minute of it too! "Wolf" did not lack in any area of interest in my opinion, we get a great story, with heat, suspense, violence and awesome characters. I am totally hooked and will read every installment that comes out for the "Wolf River" series. I want more Erin, Alex and Caleb...

Welcome to Wolf River!

Not recommended to the faint of heart or squeamish! This is not your typical dark PNR read!

Wolf by Alaska Angelini is book one in her new Wolf River series, a standalone, and it does not disappoint. It had me glued from the start with it's mystery, suspense, and bloody hot sexiness that it made reading all the gory bits well worth it.

The story is about Erin Billings, a former detective who now works as a private investigator. She's hired to investigate the death of a young girl in Wolf River. The reports say it was a bear, but she's asked by the girl's father to find out the truth. While driving through the woods, Erin hits something hard and is run off the road. Luckily, she is rescued by Alex Villani, the lone survivor of a previous "bear" attack that killed three others and the town's prime suspect by those who suspect that there is no bear, but rather werewolves.

Off the bat, there is a complete air of mystery with the way the townspeople are cold, as well as, how antagonizing Detective Perkins is around Alex which completely makes you keep wondering what is really going on all the way through.

Add in the fact that the "Wolf" doing the attacks even has it its on POV chapters...Alaska just really has you guessing for a while. Also, the suspense is gripping especially when Erin gets deeper into the investigation and more people go missing.

Now I must talk about my favorite parts about this novel... Alex Vallani and the wolves. Forget music soothing the savage beast...all Alex needs is the smell of Erin's blood and he's hooked. Completely obsessed. Possessive. And he is absolutely a very dominant alpha. Alex and Erin have great chemistry and I loved every minute of their story. Especially as the story of the werewolves in Wolf River grew and unfolded. Then there are the actual wolves in Wolf River, both terrifying and beautiful. I kept think of the movie The Grey with Liam Neeson when we Alex talked about the wolves hunting.

Overall, Wolf is a well-written paranormal romance that anyone who loves their shifter romances sexually charged, nail-biting, and filled with wolves. :) I definitely, happily, recommend reading this book.

Erin is a private investigator who has been contacted to investigate mysterious deaths in a town called Wolf River. The local sheriff's department has ruled the cause of death to be bear attacks, but judging by the reaction of some of the locals, that's not the truth. The minute Erin met Alex, they shared a mutual attraction and extremely strong pull towards each other. It's obvious that Alex is a loner and stays to himself, but once Erin discovers that he lived through a bear attack, she's convinced he can help her. Erin is determined to find out what is really happening in the secretive small town, no matter the cost.

Alex wants Erin more than he's ever wanted anyone or anything. He constantly has to fight the urge to go to her. Alex knows he's a danger to Erin and is more worried about her protection than his happiness. He soon learns there are more secrets in Wolf River than even he knew existed.

Alex is a great leading male character - hot, vulnerable, protective and dominating. He worried more about Erin than himself constantly and I fell for him immediately. I liked Erin's character well enough, although she was a bit too aggressive and stubborn on a couple of occasions which was annoying. I'm all for strong females, but common sense and realistic instinct shouldn't be overlooked. I liked the overall storyline and enjoyed the mystery that was slowly solved.

The description for Wolf states that it's a standalone book and although it ends in a good place, it ends in a place where it would be really easy to extend the story and give us more. Plus, it's listed as book 1 in the Wolf River series. Can't wait to see what happens next.

Wolf by Alaska Angelini is the story of Wolf River a small and remote community where many of the town’s people have been killed and those who live there are afraid to go out after dark. Some people want to say it is an extremely large bear and others think it is something more sinister. Erin a former detective now private investigator has been hired by the father of one of the victims to come to Wolf River to look into the killing. Erin is trying to get her life back on track after her partner and fiancée was killed. She is also dealing with demons from that relationship and his death. On her way to her cabin in Wolf River her car is knocked off the road and into a ditch by something large. She is rescued by the town recluse Alexander. He is a loner for a reason but something about Erin has him feeling things about this woman he hasn’t felt since his attack several years ago. On a hunting trip he and 3 of his friends were attacked by something which he has never told a soul what really attacked them but he was the only one who was left alive. This a strange tale of strange things happening not only to the town but to the people in the town. Is it really a bear or is the animal killing the townspeople really a wolf or a pack of wolves. This is not your typical werewolf book. There is a lot going on with many players. I can tell you I was left with a lot of questions and look forward to the next book Pay attention and sit back for the ride. I was given a copy of this book for an honest review. I give this tale 4 stars.

First off I wanted to say I was so honored when I was asked if I would like to read Wolf. This is a Paranormal about Wolf shapeshifters. I haven’t read very many Paranormals about Wolves. I know there are a lot of Authors that write Paranormal Wolf books but, I think most of the Paranormals are about Vampires and even Gargoyles at least the ones that I have read. So this was a pleasant surprise for me reading about Wolves.

I enjoyed this tale and it is Alexander Villani & Erin’s story. I will leave it up to you to read the Synopsis that Alaska Angelini provided about the book. I think the authors do so much better job of writing it than I can.

Alaska Angelini does write her books with a HOTNESS factor of 10 Stars and I love that she writes them with a BDSM element. And, I have enjoyed a lot of her books now including Wolf! There were some twists and turns to Wolf. Some I saw coming and others that I didn’t. I got my ALPHA male in Alex. There is a HEA at the end of this Standalone Novel & I can’t wait to read more.

I received a complimentary copy of Wolf for an honest review. I give Wolf 4.5 stars.

Awesome story!!

This author, Alaska Angelini, is not new to me...I truly enjoy reading all her books. I'm not going to tell you what this story is about but what I think... Wolf is an engaging read that took me on a mystified trek through a town that harbored secrets and much more. You can feel the energy of these two main characters, their attraction, their obsession and their appetite for each other. You don't know what hides around the next corner, which direction the story goes, until you get there. What my mind thought was happening, where it was taking me... nope not even close. I love reading a book that keeps me on my toes and guessing until the very end! I really hope we hear more about Wolf River....soon.

Reviewed on Behalf of Give Me Books

Wow! This book was action-packed and kept me turning the pages. I have to be honest and say I’m not a huge paranormal fan so I only read them every once in a while. But I am a huge Alaska Angelini fan and this book is one of the reasons why! Who else can write about a werewolves and make it dark, sexy, and oh so good!

However, when investigator Erin Billings comes to town to investigate an animal attack, she learns things the hard way.

Give me what I want.” But how can a man who relies solely on himself, finally let someone in? Will he or will he permanently be alone?

I thoroughly enjoyed this story. It was dark and twisted. It was sexy and steamy. It was action-packed. It was full of emotion and love. Even if you are not a huge paranormal fan like me, I think you will enjoy this book if you like your books hot with a dominant alpha and a strong heroine! (4 stars)

This book was HELL OF GOOD!!! I hold a high standard with my wolf characters and Alaska did not disappoint!! I'm really enjoying her work a lot. I'm working my way through her vamp series and decided to take a bit of a break after book 3. This book could even pass as a stand alone, so I didn't feel like I was hanging and even got closer for the main story. Definitely hoping for more in this series. Erin is not weak or naive...yes she does dumb stuff but not enough to be annoying. The wolf are like your classic wolfman style which is a nice change from the actual animal. Alex is a great balance of dominance and passion.

4 Stars!

A great start to what I can tell will be an addicting series with strong sexy characters , a fast paced mysterious plot, plenty of grit and gore and animalistic chemistry that lead to some scorching hot sex. I can't wait to read more!!

Loved it!!! First book by this author and apart from the editing/spelling errors and the fact that the H and hs relationship could have been developed more AND the fact that there was no epilogue, I couldn't give it the full 5 stars! Still an awesome read and I loved me some alpha Alex!! 4 ⭐️'s

Definitely fun to read. There was something special about Wolf River that was unlike any other. I loved the mystery. I spent the entire time trying to figure out who was doing what or why something was happening. And let me tell you, i was wrong every time. My only issue was that huge cliffhanger.... i need book two. I have to know how things continue after the big fall out.

OAN: I have to say that if werewolves can be called realistic, Alaska achieved it. There was nothing perfect about the way they lived and survived. There was no false sense of struggle before they miraculously gained control. I felt their pain. I believed the truth of their inner demons. What spoke to me the most was the anguish Alex felt that his love didn't recognize him. It broke my heart that month after month he lost her to herself. That's realism for you. She didn't turn and all of a sudden they were more in love than ever. No they struggled and through it all they held tight and took every blow full force. Now thats a story!!!!

Awesome start, I was so hooked! Action, mystery, romance… yum! And then, it got a bit slow. And then when I felt things were back on track again with good momentum, everything got solved within the last 2 pages of that book. It was too quick for me and some things just didn’t add up. Like Caleb ending up being a fairy godmother for Alex and Erin?! Or why Alex stayed away for a decade and then have apple pie with family now casually without any issues?! I expected some hardship there, fighting the urge to turn, getting territorial or pissed - but nope, all rainbows and butterflies! Everything was too smooth about the family reunion, given the circumstances. And at the end, Erin’s issue with Alex’s roughness did not make sense given her history with her ex-fiancé and the fact that she is a kick ass tough detective. I mean Erin, if you can’t handle Alex, send him my way *wink *wink

________

Steam: savage
Plot twist: did not see it coming, but it was too abrupt and too close to the end of the book, and things just didn’t add up.
Would I read this book again: no, though if there was a second book, I’d read it cuz I wanted more of Erin and Alex and I would hope that Erin “man up” to take Alex’s savage wolf without a hissy fit.
