Monica Banks and Tyler Green have spent the better part of a year being sarcastic, caustic, and halfway in love with one another. What will Monica do once Tyler gets tired of waiting and makes the first move? Little does she know, he’s not just looking for some short-term fun. With Monica, he wants forever.
Gunnery Sergeant Tyler Green never made apologies for who he was, and wasn’t about to start now. People either accepted him just the way he was, or they didn’t. And he’d always been okay with that. Then he’d met her and his world was turned upside down. Monica Banks captured his attention from day one and had never let go. Patience was never one of Tyler’s virtues, but he knew that Monica would need time to get used to the idea of being with him and everything that came with it. Telling Monica how he felt about her was all Tyler could focus on and after a year of holding back, he was done waiting.
Staff Sergeant Monica Banks had experienced loss as a young child and promised herself she would never love someone enough that she would lose herself. Watching her father mourn the loss of her mother had colored her view of love, and what it would mean to ever lose that person. And then, Tyler Green had walked into her life. Like a bull in a china shop, he crashed through every barrier she erected, tearing down her resistance little by little. Soon, he was the only man she could see herself loving.
Tyler and Monica must find their way to each other, all while battling their own stubborn will, dealing with an obsessive stalker not willing to let Monica go, and understanding that loving someone with everything you are, doesn’t mean sacrificing yourself in the process.
The characters I write will not be perfect. None of us are. They will make mistakes. All of the hero's will have redeeming qualities, but on the outset, you may not be their biggest fan. My heroine's will be the kind of women you want to hang out with. They're the women next door, down the street and around the corner. They are the ladies you would want to spend time with on a Saturday night drinking a martini.
I have been an avid reader of romance novels since the age of 14 and know what appeals to me as reader. My goal is, and will always be, to provide that same experience for the women and men who read my novellas and short stories.
I’m a former Marine and served for 8 years, so strong military men will always be a favorite topic of mine. I will continue to write stories with military heroes’ front and center. I’m also a fan of Alpha-males and strong women who love with everything they have.
Pfffftttt, apparently I did continue reading this one. I just did so I can rant about it. Because it didn’t get better after my first exclamation of disbelief, at the 20% mark. I just couldn’t allow myself to suspend disbelief regarding this story. The woman is in military, trained to go to combat, but yet, when she is being harassed by some civilian ass-hat, she doesn’t kick his balls and send him packing. Nope, she calls for the MP to come rescue her. But of course, who comes to her rescue, not the MP, nope, in comes superhero. He saves the day, picks her up and takes her to his cave, where he and literally everybody but herself (remember, she is in the military!!!) can protect her from the civilian boogie man. And while she’s there, squared away, they have plenty of time to get romantically involved. While she is contrary. And he talks to her like she is a child (because she yelled at him at a point. And he, of course being a dominant can’t have his woman yelling at him. Dude, please, get a grip). She finally abide to him, because it’s so good to not always be in charge and let loose and have somebody take care of her for a change. Major eye-roll at this point.
Ugh. Writers really need to stop with their half ass tries to write BDSM-ish-stories and just stick to the things they know. So repeat after me: a jerkish overbearing dude does not a Dom make! So yeah...nope.
OMG Tyler is the ultimate alpha in my eyes yes I love the other two books but yea Tyler has it hands down. This book touched me because it happens in real life. There are some looney tunes out there and you don't have to encourage them for them to latch on to a crazed fantasy. Monica was so stubborn but oh she had Tyler to contend with. Loving someone right will win every time especially if the secretly love you too. Come find out what Gunnery Sgt Tyler Green did to show Monica that she was the one for him.
Loving somone doesn't mean you sacrifice who you are. It means you find yourself with the person you love. This is Tyler and Monica's love journey. I enjoyed the story. However Monica really was a "brat"! I rally wanted to shake her. I thought it was very sweet how Tyler pursued Monica. <3
This is a nice story. Book 3 of the series and can be read as a stand alone. I have not read book 1 or 2 but I need to go back and read them after reading about the characters in this book. Written as a mutli pov.
The story line was nice, the characters were engaging and their dialogue flowed well. However, I did notice some continuity errors as I read that jumped out to me as a beta reader. It slowed down the reading a bit but I was able to pick it back up rather quickly.
Tyler is a great character but a little confusing at times. He is so in love with Monica, there is no doubt about that. He is also a strong dominant in and out of the bedroom it seems but he almost reminds me of Russell in his behaviors (possessive, domineering, obsessed). Monica is a sweet girl who seems strong at times, but is willing to let Tyler walk all over her. She lets the love her parents shared cloud the possibility of having a HEA for herself.
Tyler being the protector that he is, helps to save the day. He becomes Monica's hero, her lover and her best friend. Even though they have known each other for over a year (as acquaintances only) things seemed to move really fast.
"Sacrifice" was a great read. Tyler and Monica had danced around each other for over a year. Monica was very attracted to Tyler but was fearful of loving any man too much, and that her heart couldn't take it if she lost him. Tyler was tired of the dance, and his intention was to bring things to a head with Monica. Lucky for Tyler, Monica's co-worker went crazy stalker on her and quickly pushed her right into his waiting arms. Tyler, however, seemed to be not too far from crossing the border into crazy stalker territory himself ( "You are mine, Monica, I'll never let you go!" ). And Monica, being a SAIBW (strong and independent black woman) wasn't going for that too easily!
Tyler was intense but I loved his and Monica’s love story! Even though they had known one another for one year, they fell in love in less than five days! Circumstances helped to expedite their proximity and feelings for one another yet I enjoyed how their story as well as the interplay with their families flowed. This was an enjoyable read and I look forward to the remaining Heaven on Earth romances to come.
This is the third book of Heaven on Earth series. Book #1 is Escape to Heaven. Book #2 is Redemption.
I had many emotions when I read this book. Anger at Russell. Sadness for the loss of parents. Happy to read what has been up with the other characters from the previous books. Joy when I got to the end.
Another thing I saw in this book is a lot of adjectives to describe the heroine and the hero. Monica was definitely beautiful, strong, fiesty, successful capable woman. Tyler was definitely irresistible, intense, engaging, sensual, pushy, seducer, protector, friend, and Alpha wolf. There was only one thing I could not stand about Tyler is that his personality was all over the place. One minute sweet and the next so very pushy where it had to be his way or no way. I would had been fighting just like Monica did. With Tyler like this, we got to see Monica push back.
I really enjoyed this series. Love this family and it is growing bigger with every book. I hope there will be more so we can see how Daniel, and Noah are doing. I would love to see more about Tony, too.
☆☆☆☆☆ I give this book 5 out of 5 stars. Would I recommend this book? Yes! Author? Yes! Would I read more from this author? Yes!
I was happy to see that another one of the brothers had met his match. Tyler is such a tough guy to figure out and he needs a women with a mind of her own who can appreciate his kind of love and attention and keep him on his toes. Monica is a marine, she is tough, loyal and has relationship issues. Sparks fly when Tyler who is a protector peruses Monica who doesn't think she needs protecting. This was a great addition to this series. So far all of the girls have needed saving of some sort which highlights the guys intense protective needs. It was a fast easy storyline that overlaps with the other books so we get to see the characters in this series that we love. I like that the author makes sure to involve past characters especially since these guys were so close and strong family unit. I had a couple of issues, one was the bad guy, the whole situation seemed rush and I think it would have drawn out the suspense more if it lasted longer then it did. The second was that I thought Monica was going to get to confront and take care of her problem and she did not act as I expected. I was a little disappointed with her but it did not take away from the storyline or wreck it or anything. I really enjoyed the story and look forward to seeing what brother finds love next.
All I could think the whole time I read this was "I wish a man would talk to me like this!"
I don't think I've ever read a hero more perfect than Tyler Green! I would be a completely happy woman if this man jumped out of the pages of this book and started talking to me like he talks to Monica. I found myself sighing out loud on several occasions. And Monica...who doesn't love a strong and capable heroine with a hint of vulnerability? I swear the author took thoughts right out of my head and put them in Monica's. It was so easy to fall in love with both the hero and heroine.
I loved the story line as well. I enjoyed the initial sparring between the two antagonizing each other. But as you get into the meat of the story, the danger mixes well with the times of ease and relaxation with both "families." Nothing is out of place and everything is in the story for a purpose. There were times of hot, steamy romance, levity with the family, and physical danger. Definitely a page turner!
Oh Tyler, my Tyler! I fell in love with Tyler and I think everyone who reads this book will too. Tyler is not an easy man and an ordinary woman who just goes along with everything he says. He needs someone who could give as good as she gets and Monica could be it! One of the things I enjoyed about this book is that we had an opportunity to check in and see how the characters from the previous books. Monica is tough and doesn't feel she needs anyone's help even when there is danger near her. Tyler has had enough of doing circles around Monica and moves in to claim his woman, but things could never be that easy. Monica and Tyler are evenly matched and are as stubborn as the other. Then there is their chemistry! Holy heatwave! Tyler is golden and will make you moan he is that good! Loved the story and the romance and suspense were evenly matched.
Adele and Stefano, Vanessa and Ethan, now Monica and Tyler; this rag tag family is growing by leaps and bounds. The Heaven on Earth series is such a pleasure to read. Both Tyler and Monica came in to their relationship with warts, as they both describe, but they complete each other. They teach each other how to be whole. The suspense in the story with Russell gives a perfect backdrop to their relationship. Great story.
This one got better as it progressed. I was worried at the start when the initial descriptions of Tyler had me thinking he would be one of those cornball sleazy freaky whips & chains guy. But he's just in it to win it with everything he does and Monica is the perfect match. Headstrong, independent, and downright combustible they are the perfect swoon-worthy couple. Who wouldn't want to be loved like that! 😌
Loved It, Tyler was one bad Gunnery Sergeant. He is my new book boyfriend😉😉😉. He staked his claim, took it slow for one year then all bets were off. He was coming after Monica. She was his and no one better get in his way. Loved the hint of BDSM 🔥🔥🔥. Monica a marine also didn't need a man to tell her what she could and couldn't do. She could take care of herself. Gunnery Sergeant Green was haven't it. When a stalker came after Monica all bets were off. This book and the first book are my favorite so far in this series. Kudos to the author
This book was a struggle for me. Monica and Tyler was just a corny pair. I didn’t get how Monica is this Marine who has been in the Corp for several years and was unable to handle that puny little Russell. Did she really ned Tyler to “protect” her. The Psuedo dominate and submissive relationship, it was sooo not needed. I also couldn’t get if they were interested in each other for a while why wait so long?
I gave it 3 stars because it the supporting characters. Let’s hope Noah’s story is better.
This is the third book in this series. I love how each one not on tells on of their stories but continued glimpses of the whole family. All around good series. Can wait to know all on their stories. I love how thus book touched on the stories connected to the last three singles in the family. Great read.
Enjoyed Tyler and Monica's story. Well written filled with strong characters with strong emotions! Love, romance, strength and protection when needed, family and support are all a part of this wonderful story. So happy these two found their happily ever after! Darlene Walker
I'm reading this series in order and let me tell you! They just keep getting better and better! And those sex scenes!!! Whew Chile!! Come On Now!!!!!!! There's not one complaint about this story except that I wish it had more chapters, I didn't want it to end. On to book 4!!! Happy Reading Guys!!!!!!!!!!
We’re once again in a story which portrays stalking, female abuse, protection, family cohesiveness, and above all a budding love affair!!! Thank you for keeping us aware of the abuse which is experienced by women, children and some males on a daily basis in one form or the other!!!💚🍀🦋
Loved it! Loved Tyler and how strong and sure of himself he is. Love Monica and her coming into herself; headstrong when necessary and womanly-copenhagen appropriate. Rules and boundaries in a relationship -powerful!
So, this has been my least favorite of the series. Still a good story, but not the favorite. It was hard to loose myself in the H and h love story. Everything happened so fast. The meeting, the conflict, the sex.. Too much..
Monica and Tyler were Marines. Being Marines captured my interest from the beginning. I think what made me like this story is that Monica was allowed to be a vulnerable woman. She was allowed to show her softer side and still maintain her respect as a Marine.
Tyler was what one would think of when they thought of a Marine. Strong. Protective. Shouting orders. The whole nine and then some.
Yeah once again another well written story by this author. The characters are so good and the story flows beautifully. A great way to settle down to be entertained.
