Thoroughly enjoyed reading the first four books of this series, it was great reading about the interaction of the boys and their friends. The later in life Romance was great too.
All of Me I wanted to take both Ivey and Jeff, hug them tight, and promise that nothing would ever hurt them again. I realize how terribly unrealistic that promise is, but it’s still what I was feeling for most of this book. Normally, a secret baby is a theme that’s difficult for me to believe in. Yet this story gave me the right elements for me to be swept in their drama and to believe. I loved the crazy, quirky townsfolk and now I want to dive into the rest of the series. Somebody Like You Billy and the whole crazy, loving Turlock family are my favorite things in this book. Brooke was not an easy character to like. In the beginning, she had my sympathy for the way her former boss treats her in the opening scene. However, her attitude quickly wore away at my consideration. She’s so aloof and guarded that even as the reader, I had difficulty connecting with Brooke. I loved seeing the sweet care Billy took to show her that he wasn’t the man she thought he was, and how he gently worked his way past her defenses. The happy ever after they’re able to achieve is absolutely beautiful, I just would have preferred to see more of the big mental changes that made it possible a little earlier in the story. Now I desperately want to know more about the rest of the Turlock clan. Until There Was You I adore a second chance! And while this book isn’t one in the conventional sense, that’s the feeling it evokes. Wallace and Gen have never been a couple, but they’ve been “the one that got away” for almost as long as they’ve known each other. But, Wallace at least, has fought his feelings for all that time because he doesn’t want to jeopardize his friendship with her brother. I loved Gen’s strength and independence. I wasn’t entirely on board with some of her manipulative plans, but since most of them go sideways in some pretty spectacular ways, I can forgive them. Wallace is like the mountains: strong, steady, enduring, and about as quick to change. He’s felt responsible for the success and happiness of the people around him and so he’s carried a burden that wasn’t always his to own. When it comes to Gen and his own feelings, he has the emotional sensitivity of a root vegetable. He needed some sense knocked into him and I was glad to see it happen. I loved seeing their happy ending and I can’t wait to read what happens next. Anywhere with You Second chances are like catnip to me. They will suck me in while I’m not watching and before I know it, I’ve lost hours of my day. Joe and Kailey struck me as a pair that were in desperate need of another chance to get it right. This story relies heavily on characters that were introduced previously in the series. I recommend reading the first three books in the series before this one to understand the dynamics and history between them all. I hated to see what it took to make Kailey realize that she might have been running away from the best thing in her life, but at the same time, I loved all the growth she went through coming to that realization. Even Joe had some growth to do in order to make their second chance work. That was one of the things I liked best about this book: it took both Kailey and Joe making changes for it all to come together.
Though each story is a stand alone, they interconnect with repeating characters. The town of Starlight has seven books in the series. But the first three are here.in the first story was about A woman and man who broke up when he to school to be A doctor. She came back as A midwife. The town takes sides on the dueling couple. What happens when her past comes to light and he is deviated? The second story is about a retired, due to injuries, baseball player buys a vineyard. And hired an old friend. Who happens to be the one he left behind. The third is about his brother who is trying to finish a job for a very picky client. Who happens to be his best friend sister. And keep her away from her ex. But she has a secret that is too funny to say here without giving away the plot. There is a fourth story here about the local pilot and a Hollywood starlet. Can they get together and who will end up moving to save the relationship?
This book came in a 3-pack of Ms Bell's books, so all I spent was my time. I slugged my way through the first book (yes, it felt like a fight, & I don't know why I did it), but didn't bother with the other two. The characters are sketchy, the plot boring, and everything is entirely predictable -- yes, I know romance stories, by their very natures, are somewhat metric, but not to the point of knowing what the next sentence will be. Actually, I think the one star is a gift!
I got the 3-book pack that includes the first 3 books of this series. I enjoyed the first two. They are cute romances, with an interesting sub-plot (midwives in hospitals, starting a winery), there is some will they/won't they drama and side characters I enjoy seeing. The third book doesn't have an interesting side plot and the will they/won't they is over the top. I am somewhat curious about characters in the follow ups... But I have about 700 other books to read first.
I enjoyed this series set in Napa, one of my dream destinations. The romance of the storties was good. The only drawback for me was the incorrect usage of cliches. I almost stopped reading this book because of that. Overall, a light read that left me with warm, fuzzy feelings.
Love these characters! Small town but lots of incredible people, would love to find a real place like this. All characters have some flaws but nothing you can't get past. Need to get book 4 soon.
All three of this books were awesome. The stories were great & well written. It would be hard to pick better than the other.I would recommend these to anyone.I will reading more of this author's books.
Enjoy the vineyards and the small town vibe woven throughout the three books. The families and friends make the stories believable and interesting. Loved each couple and their journey to each other.
I do wonder if the author proof read this series or whether she left it to others. Spelling errors, repetarive and confusing the characters names and using the wrong ones. I can see why these were free. I liked the characters though.
Love the way Heather brings her books and characters to life. I also like the idea of becoming friends with the characters I am reading about. Loving this series. Characters are relatable with everyday real life problems and obstructions to happily ever after.
The storyline caught my attention but I pretty much skimmed the entire first story. I'm not sure if I'll continue and read the last two books in this series.
This is a deliciously fun box set that I thoroughly enjoyed. You get not 1 book, but 3 romance books. They're all three awesome, and not a clunker in the bunch. It truly is a 5 star set, and every book in the set is 5 stars. There's a wonderful cast of characters in each book that makes each one special.
