The fourth volume in the popular Simpsons Comics Colossal Compendium series is bursting with classic comic strips featuring everyone’s favorite family—The Simpsons—and includes a collectible, one-of-a-kind, pullout paper craft of one of Springfield’s favorite landmarks.
It takes a whole town to pack a colossal compendium with loads of laughs! First up, Bart and Lisa vie for Lard Lad Donut Kid of the Year! Then, Homer and the barflies battle marauding wild beasts as members of the Springfield Bear Patrol; Mr. Burns commandeers the Springfield public beach in the middle of a heat wave; Ralph gets left home alone, Duffman shows his esprit de corps by carrying his message to the ends of the universe; Milhouse takes on an impossible mission; Cletus lays down the law in the backwoods; and McBain faces his archenemy . . . “MENDOZA!!!” And as if that wasn’t enough food for thought, why not try your hands at building your very own KrustyBurger fast food franchise from the ground up!
This fourth volume in the Colossal Compendium series contains a minimum of 5 comics, chosen carefully and specifically to work together to provide a deeper, darker meaning. The series boasts upgraded heavier paper, an increased page count of 176 pages, and includes a unique and collectible paper craft: KrustyBurger restaurant. As the series progresses, fans will be able to assemble their own three-dimensional version of the city of Springfield and usher in a paper paradise!

Simpsons Colossal Compendium Volume 4 contains these comic books: Bart Simpson's Pal Milhouse #1. Duffman Adventures #1. Li'l Homer #1. Maggie #1. The Malevolent Mr. Burns #1. Ralph Wiggums Comics #1. Simpsons Comics #194 and #198. Simpsons Summer Shindig #5, #7 and #8. Simpsons Winter Wingding #5 and #8. The Wonderful World of Lisa Simpson #1.
Simpsons Comics Colossal Compendium Volume 4 by Matt Groening is a great colossal compendium but also a great comic version of an addition to the Simpsons universe. This book starts with a competition to become the Lard Lad kid of the year between Lisa, Bart, and many other kids all around. Eventually Bart comes out on top and wins the competition having unlimited doughnuts. Followed by the tale of the failing bear patrol and a side of the legend of the boy who would not take a bath. With small funny stories everywhere and a great superhero comeback story following Duffman and his initial failure to save the life of the party. Then as the ultimate "buzz kill" supervillain comes in to murder the ongoing party, but he proves to fail when Duffman comes in to save the day. I reccomend this book to Simpsons lovers and comic book lovers. Or somebody in need of a great read.
Another solid entry in the world of Simpsons comics. I appreciated that this one didn’t have a larger overarching story and the longer story it did have (the last one) was just long enough to be entertaining and tie two characters’ stories together. I liked the smaller McBain stories that culminated in one story too.
Some had weird art styles I didn’t take to and other stories had promise but fell apart at the end. Averaging out my score for each story I got an exact 3.5/5 for the whole compilation, which feels right.
