Most Evil II is Steve Hodel's follow-up investigation (2009-2015) into his father's potential murders and introduces new evidence and additional linkage obtained by him over the past six years.
Included in that evidence, is the solving of the Zodiac’s forty-five year cryptic cipher, which gives us the answer to the question asked in Most Evil, “Were Black Dahlia Avenger and Zodiac the same serial killer?”
I'm totally convinced. Much of the book was so repetitive that I figure the author compiled a bunch of articles or papers or something without editing out redundancies. He also has an agenda, and says about 42 times, all the police have to do is give him an hour or two, and makes it sound like the cops don't want to solve these cases because they don't want to meet with him. I'm pretty sure the cops have plenty of cranks who would like the police to give them an hour or whatever, and I get it that they aren't interested in this one guy and his theories. How many other people bug them about their own pet theories?
Again, I totally think he is right. But he's not the only person out there with someone they are positive is the killer that happens to be someone else.
I enjoy following the clues Steve continues to lay out between connecting the Zodiac and the BDA murders. Great Read I recommend to anyone that is a fan of true crime stories.
Most Evil II: Presenting the Follow-Up Investigation and Decryption of the 1970 Zodiac Cipher in which the San Francisco Serial Killer Reveals his True Identity by Steve Hodel is another book that he has written regarding his father and link that he has connected his father with murders that have happened. It was an interesting but by the time I got to the end I was actually a bit tired. It seemed to repeat a lot of the same information that I have read before. I just wonder if Steve Hodel had all of this information about his father, why hadn't he come forward while his father was alive rather that after he had died. Anyway, for those of us who love mysteries, intrigue and suspense then you must pick it up because there is some very interesting information that is found between the pages. I gave if 4 stars and recommend it to all.
A persuasive case for the Zodiac killer's identity. With the "Grim Sleeper " about to be convicted it would seem an effort to follow up the author's work with DNA evidence would be a worthwhile effort.
