Small town cop Shay Brooks is frustrated with her attempt to rise in the ranks. Thrilled ten years ago to secure a job in her hometown of Connell, Washington; she now thrives for excitement and advancement. Renee Mills hires Shay to save her daughter. Renee believes her daughter, Beth, a straight-A student; dropped out of college to strip. Her mother blames the owner of the club and drugs. Shay goes undercover as a waitress at the club in hopes to save Beth and crack open a drug operation. An inevitable mutual attraction with the bartender, Dante Pierce, is a distraction. A suspenseful story about romance, family, and friends.
This quick reading was adorable.
It came with a tight group of friends, strong women, a caring mother, a dangerous investigation, and a sexy bartender.
Shay and Dante instantly felt the connection between them, but with so much at stake, they couldn't act on it at first.
This book was cozy and delightful, and I was so in need of that.

This book is part of the Miss Demeanor PI series and so far I am loving this series! It is fun to see women taking charge of their lives after being unsatisfied with the lack of promotions they are given working in various police forces.
This book centers on Shay Brooks, who was a police officer in the small town of Connell with no chance of being promoted. Shay is asked by Renee Mills to try and save her daughter, Beth, who has begun working at BARE - Business Associates Reserved Establishment. Renee believes that Beth is dating Rick, the owner, who has got her hooked on drugs and stripping at his club.
Yet, when Shay is hired to work in the club she doesn't see what Renee does but knows that something big is definitely going on. Then there is her attraction to the bartender, Dante Pierce, who may have secrets of his won.
This book really kept me on my toes with what was going to happen next as I was honestly surprised at how things were going and what was happening! I loved how everything tied together and was definitely engaged through the whole read!
Such a great series so far and I can't wait to read the next two!

TAKING CHANCES
This story kept me captivated as the mystery and suspense unfolds. This story offers so much, with a mysterious case, a group of feisty female PIs, several deaths due to drugs, estranged family members, a gentleman's club with questionable reputation, and even some romance. The plot twists kept me in constant suspense and the pages turning. So many questions to be solved, who do you trust and who are the unsavory characters. I always love seeing the good guys or gals win and the criminals getting their comeuppance. This PI story has a great cast of characters with witty dialog, some action, and a little steamy romance. I am excited to see this is a series and can't wait for the next book.

This was a delightful read and finished in no time. Shay has opened up with a couple of other lady cops their own agency. Not being able to climb the ranks gets old so their adventure awaits them. They get their first case with a woman wanting them to help save her daughter. Upon further investigation they find out where she is and enlist her uncle to help Shay get a position at this high end club called BARE. It actually stands for something well anyways she gets a job as a waitress. Oh I forgot she also likes her guns, I found that amusing sort of but good for her. Well you are on the investigation with her and things will come to light in pieces, also in the picture is Dante who works there with them each secretly eyeing each other. That is just some of it but you will find out just who he is and what is really going on. It flows well for a suspense with a curve thrown in there about Dante and the daughter they are investigating. Escalates quickly to danger but with a ending that will wrap it all nicely because she will have a secret operation with a hot date.

Shay Brooks was a small town cop who kept getting over looked for promotions just because she was a woman, so she left her job and went into the PI business with three of her friends. Her first job was to find a young woman who was supposedly working for a drug dealer in a strip club. What it turns into was nothing like what Shay thought. And what's up with the hunky bar tender?
This was a great short story in this analogy. I loved reading about the antics Shay gets into while trying to figure out what is going on and who are the good guys and who are the bad ones.

This collection of linked stories centers around a newly formed all-female group, Miss Demeanor Detective Agency. Book 2 is by Angela Ford. This is my first read authored by her, and she's found a new fan in me. I received a copy of this for review, and these opinions are my own. Shay Brooks's first client Renee Mills wants help in saving her 22 year old daughter Beth from a life of drug abusing stripper in a high-class gentlemen's club. What Shay discovers in a surprising set-up including guns galore, gorgeous guys, both good and bad aplenty, & a set up begging to be unraveled. Keep your scorecards handy to see where to place both Dante & Rick.

Angela Fords new short story - Bare - which is book 2 of the Miss Demeanor Private Detective Agency anthology is a good story which kept me guessing. Her heroine, Shay Brooks, is feisty and smart. Trying to discover why a young woman would quit her desire to become a lawyer to work in a men's club was beyond me, but part of the mystery. When Miss Ford puts all the ducks in a row, the story made sense and was quite compelling. Her characters are clear and brave and I highly recommend this story.

so what happens when a mother comes to the agency asking for their help to rescue her daughter .
why did the girl cut ties from her mother .
was it to save her or is there more to it than that .
and what happens when one of the agents falls for a bartender but is he really a bartender or something more . and what of the mothers daughter who works for a man who may be into drugs and so much more .
