What the heck!?!?.....NOT suitable for under 18!
I really liked the first three books in the series, but this one ......three stars is REALLY generous. First of all, this book seems completely unnecessary, the whole plot of this book seemed to be mostly filler.....and everything ended up basically where it started! There was no progress to the overall story (the bad guy, the relationship between Elena and Blake, etc.).
Secondly, Elena didn't grow as a person AT ALL....if anything she seemed weak, fragile and selfish. And finally, my biggest issue was the "sensitive sensitive content"...I'm still ticked off 2 days later!
WARNING SPOILER AHEAD!!!
The "sensitive content" was that a main character is RAPED by multiple guys (and there is plenty of description too)! I mean, WTH..... I was completely surprised and livid at this turn of events. For one, the event didn't add much to the story besides giving Elena another reason to close off from everyone a.d create a lot of drama. Second, if anyone had told me that this was the drive behind the whole plot in this book, I probably would have not read it. Thirdly, I don't read YA for graphic, horrific events.....there's plenty of that in the real world (just pick up a newspaper).....I read YA so that I DON'T have those kind of surprises!
I was so disappointed with this book, and would NOT let young teens read this. If this is the direction of the series, I'm not sure will finish it.....and I will definitely read a LOT of reviews before trying it.

It really kills me that not many people have read this series.
I want to tell you all about it but for the life of me, I just can't stop crying. I love this book like I would my own child and I didn't even write it, that is how personal it feels to me.
I don't have words. I literally don't have words. I lose my breath every time I try to put all that I'm feeling into coherent sentences for you to understand.
In all the past books I've said I'll write my review at the end of the series but here now, I have no idea how I could possibly do that.
I'm afraid that nothing I say could possibly do it justice but I will try.
And succeed I must.
This "review" sounds so over the top and I'm sure one day when future Umaiya reads this she will cringe into Oblivion but I still manage to console myself with the thought that I mean every word I've written here and that I truly will love this series unconditionally forever no matter what happens in the next book.

Moonbreeze is simply
Our journey begins with Elena still learning to cope with her new role as Princess of Paegeia. This isn’t an easy role for her as she’s still immature and still knows so very little about ruling a country. But hey, who does at eighteen years of age? She seems to be making more enemies than friends. And to add salt to the wound, her stupid dragon, Blake, is still resisting her new role as his rider. I really love how she finds her strength to stand up to him. I love Elena. Her character feels so real. She isn’t perfect but she does learn from her mistakes. She isn’t a damsel in distress. And she always finds courage in the end.
Part two was definitely hard to read but I’m glad that Ms. Woods chose to include it in Moonbreeze. It really brought depth to the series that most YA writers are too afraid to include. Not only did we get to experience this life-changing event with Elena and her recovery, but we also saw truly how ugly things are outside the kingdoms' walls. Adrienne Woods did such an amazing job capturing the darkness of this place and the urgency to take down those in-charge.I wouldn't change a thing and commend this author for daring to include such sensitive topics in this novel.
A shining star in Moonbreeze is definitely Becky. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve always liked her character but had favored Sammy. In this novel, I simply loved Becky. She is fierce; a fierce friend and fighter. While some may argue that she is very brash, I disagree. She stands up for what she believes in and never backs down. She’s the most honest character in the series, and I simply adore her. (I also enjoyed seeing a different side to George, too.)
As always, the series delivers in character development. And I did not see the turns and twists coming. I really really loved how everything came together in the end.
And the best part… Lots and lots of Blake. I had been eagerly awaiting more Elena-Blake time since Frostbite and their time on the mountain.
I could not put this book down to save my life. Even with work and a fairly lengthy essay to write, I still managed to stay up until 5 and 7am. To say Ms. Wood’s writing is addictive is a serious understatement. She truly is a gifted writer.
Things I am hoping are included in Starlight:

I may not agree with most of the reviewers but i really didnt like the book that much.I have liked all the previous editions and was waiting impatiently to read this one. But was disappointed :o( The story is elongated ruthlessly in places, lots of drama, seems the author have taken some inspiration from bollywood movies. The only thing that remained unscathed of my previous reading of the book is Blake, he is still the amazing character. I didnt like Ellena at all, only thing she did was mourn, lash at her friends, made promises.
I just didnt get why was no one letting the other finish their saying, lots of confusions and fights would have ended just there. And there was this set of promise everyone was making, ellena to tabitha, blake to everyone. O GOD !!!
This book had been much shorter , more crisper and much less drama and over flowing emotions (of Ellens) .

This book really could have benefited from a real editor. There were so many unnecessary scenes. Not to mention the rape scene and the subsequent reactions from characters was completely inappropriate and not necessary. The author is creative and I have enjoyed reading her books, but this one just rambled. Cutting out many of these scenes would have made the book a lot better. She should have spent more time building up the plot for the next book which I assume has to do with the orbs they're collecting. (Yet another plot that was included and abandoned without any real reason).

I must say that Elena drove me absolutely insane in this book. Even before the incident happened. Yes, I do understand where she is coming from. But does she have to be so selfish, blaming everything on everyone else. Like I know what she has been through, but it really isn't others fault that she decided to run away and get herself in trouble. Ahhhhhhhh, so frustrating. And how could she ever make as promise like that to Tashiba? Sometimes she really just drive me crazy, especially in this book. Not to mention that last scene. Just because she is insecure and have lots of doubts and theories, does it mean that she has to make other believe what she thinks. The worst part is, even after she caused all that trouble by telling others her "theory", she still blame it on Blake. Come on girl, can't you see that he is no longer consumed by evil? And the world doesn't spin around you. Not everything that went wrong is someone else's fault, half of the time you are to blame too. Agh, I really hope she will not be so self centered in the next book. Where is the old Elena? The one that cares and understand others? So frustrated.

I LOVE LOVE BLAKE !!
even though he's an asshat, a big one I might add but there's just something about him *sighs dreamily*
I loved how far this series have come, I totally disliked Elena in the beginning, she was always whining and stuff and yeah yeah I know she's been through a lot but she reminded me of Elena Gilbert a bit......
but I kinda love Elena now, I love how much her character has developed and how strong and determined she's became.
AND CAN BLAKE PLEASE COME BACK TO HIS SENSES!!
I WANT THEM TO BE TOGETHER! I CANT WAIT TO SEE THAT AFFECTIONATE AND ROMANTIC SIDE OF BLAKE...
I'm really looking forward to Moonebreeze and it's a wonder I'm still alive because the wait is seriously killing me!

This series is taking over my entire freaking life. Literally, its all I can think about every second of every day. Its tearing apart my heart, my soul, my life, my love... I can't even begin to describe how much love I have for this series, and I don't know how I will go on after its finished....
Elena annoyed me to absolutely no end in this book, not going to lie. Especially the last half of it. While I really loved all the things that happened in this book, and the huge plot twist that happened, all she would talk about is "its a spell" "its not real" blah blah blah.
Okay, now on to the main part of this book... ETAN?!?!?! HOLY CRAP!!!! That was a huge revelation for the series, and what she went through destroyed me. Broke my heart into a million pieces, and then some. This book has very very sensitive subjects in Part 2, with somewhat vivid rape scenes, so if you have a hard time with things like that, I suggest skipping the scene. There are flashbacks to it, but they aren't as bad as the actual scene with it. So just be cautious, and you won't miss anything if you skip it.
Anyways, back to the story... Her adventure in Etan was nuts. Absolutely nuts, and I'm so glad she now knows what is happening there so she can save everyone. It breaks my heart to know what those poor people and children are going through with everything, and the feasts are absolutely disgusting. I'm just glad she had someone to watch after her while in the palace.
Now I need to talk about Blake.. My Blake Leaf, love of my life, my heart. I am so glad we finally heard his reasoning and thoughts for everything that has happened between them in the entire series. That was probably my favorite part in the whole book, and I'm glad we finally know the truth. Elena needs to suck it up, and realize that it isn't a spell. Its real, the Dent is real, and he loves her. MY SMOL BABY!! (Not so small I guess, because well, Rubicon..)
Overall this was my absolute favorite book in the entire series so far, and I love watching Woods get better and better through every book. I seriously do not know what I'm going to do after this series is finished, I can't imagine a life without these books... Its going to break my heart even more to know there will never be another one after Starlight. Great job Adrienne Woods!

~please note I have nothing against the author and this view is based on my opinions after reading the book~
If there is one piece of advice I can give the author it is this... stop with the "giggling". (I remember that this has been a constant issue throughout this series, although this book was an improvement from the previous book).
Your book has a good storyline but the constant "giggling" of characters makes the book lose its maturity, makes the characters (mostly Elena giggling over something or rather) look childish when they shouldn't and thus makes the characters and book seem like a bit of a fluff (a joke).
Other than that I enjoyed this book (although it does need a better editor due to unnecessary scenes etc) and would have given it a better rating if characters weren't "giggling" like little children so much for no apparent reason.
I look forward to the next book. Hopefully with less "giggling".

I enjoyed all the dragonian books. The writer has a great imagination and the plot is fast-moving and exciting. However, there are many things about how the book is written that annoys me. The book's characters giggle a lot (very annoying) and in mostly inappropriate scenes. I think all the books in the series could have benefited with a semi-decent editor. The writing and prose does not flow well and the conversations sound so stilted. But all in all, it was an enjoyable book. I give it a 2 for bad writing, 5 for having a great plot/storyline.

Man, what a book. It was all things engrossing and OMG. I honestly can't talk about this very much without spoiling anything... so you've been warned.
At 80% of the book I was hoping for some turn around with Elena. Blake was so nice... but he honestly needed to try harder. ARGH. The down fall of this book was that it so focused on forcing Blake and Elena's relationship that we hardly got anymore plot. I was expecting the twists and turns I've come know love about this series so much but they just weren't there. So just know that Moonbreeze focuses a lot on Elena's inner monologue and gives you glimpses into the Rubicon's mind. It's very much a relationship book.
ARGH. But I love the series and I'll be reading the next one!

Unfortunately, the descriptive gang rape ruined everything. Seriously? YA book, a sweet fantasy serie, fun, cute, adventurous up until the fourth book introduces a gang rape - 7 dudes raping a girl in detail. And the awful part is that we are reminded of it every ten pages with more details the girl remembers. Come on.
I mean I swear the book could have been the same, the story not needing change if her powers would come through right before 7 guys raped her. But no - the great amazing idea was for her powers to come back when they finished raping her. Mm. The writer could have made the story with trauma if they tortured her, chased her, there is trauma there too, no need to rape the poor girl and traumatize all the readers so that every time that poor girl closes her eyes she remembers how the guys unbuckled their belts and licked her. Jesus.

I have so loved this series – until now. After a fantastic end to the third book, the adventure comes to a grinding halt in #4.
The fact that #4 is twice as long as #3 in the series should have warned me as #4 does not continue the series focus on the Academy, the dragons, the who is Elena mystery and, of course, the budding romances. Instead #4 begins with 9 long chapters of Elena learning to be a princess while Blake has “disappeared.” No plot advancement, just 9 chapter of irrelevance (including the overuse of the word “giggle” which, I swear, was on every page of those 9 chapters at least once if not twice!)
After the 9th “chapter” is an Epitome, or basically a review of the first three books. Fine, let’s move along already. But what do you get when you turn the page you are abruptly at Part 1. Excuse me? Part 1? What were the first 9 chapters then? Part 0? Anyway, Part 1 then begins with yet another review of the story and characters and where they are and what they’ve done. (Obviously, the first 9 chapters were never meant to be printed and published so do yourself a favor and just skip to Part 1 if you decide to read the book.)
Irritatingly as the book plods on, Blake’s continued absence is unexplained, his actions wretched – who’d want to be “dented” to this guy? I actually began hoping Elana would just dump him. But it gets worse, way worse with brutal and bloody beatings because Blake, and apparently his father, can only be kept in line by beating them to bloody pulps while Elena becomes an unlikeable whiner … up until the story takes an even darker left turn into Wyvern land and, oh yes, rape. No spoiler here – just a WARNING: one of the main characters is not just raped but gang raped by 7 guys. How on earth can this book be called “young adult”???? And if the author wanted action or a traumatic event, she couldn’t think of anything else? Seriously?
Obviously, the story does a meltdown from there as all the characters we’ve grown to love try to help the one brutalized – more long and depressing chapters. Frankly, I was ready to ditch the book. It was only my attachment to the characters and wanting to see them get their “happy ending” that made me read (rather skim) on with no serious story advancement until – brace yourselves – Part 5 when something starts happening again.
The question is do I really want to read the final installment after this total destruction of the story founded in the first three books? I know one thing for sure, I will NEVER read another book of this author’s outside this series. If I want rape and blood, I can get that on the nightly news. We read books to escape into another world, not be to be dragged thru the mud of such violence. I cannot imagine how this book ever got approved for a young adult category – is this really what we want our teens to be reading????? VERY DISAPPOINTED after such an awesome start to the series.

Instead #4 begins with 9 long chapters of Elena learning to be a princess while Blake has “disappeared.” No plot advancement, just 9 chapter of irrelevance (including the overuse of the word “giggle” which, I swear, was on every page of those 9 chapters at least once if not twice!)
After the 9th “chapter” is an Epitome, or basically a review of the first three books. Fine, let’s move along already. But what do you get when you turn the page you are abruptly at Part 1. Excuse me? Part 1? What were the first 9 chapters then? Part 0? Anyway, Part 1 then begins with yet another review of the story and characters and where they are and what they’ve done. (Obviously, the first 9 chapters were never meant to be printed and published so do yourself a favor and just skip to Part 1 if you decide to read the book.)
Irritatingly as the book plods on, Blake’s continued absence is unexplained, his actions wretched – who’d want to be “dented” to this guy? I actually began hoping Elana would just dump him. But it gets worse, way worse with brutal and bloody beatings because Blake, and apparently his father, can only be kept in line by beating them to bloody pulps while Elena becomes an unlikeable whiner … up until the story takes an even darker left turn into Wyvern land and, oh yes, rape. No spoiler here – just a WARNING: one of the main characters is not just raped but gang raped by 7 guys. How on earth can this book be called “young adult”???? And if the author wanted action or a traumatic event, she couldn’t think of anything else? Seriously?
Obviously, the story does a meltdown from there as all the characters we’ve grown to love try to help the one brutalized – more long and depressing chapters. Frankly, I was ready to ditch the book. It was only my attachment to the characters and wanting to see them get their “happy ending” that made me read (rather skim) on with no serious story advancement until – brace yourselves – Part 5 when something starts happening again.
The question is do I really want to read the final installment after this total destruction of the story founded in the first three books? I know one thing for sure, I will NEVER read another book of this author’s outside this series. If I want rape and blood, I can get that on the nightly news. We read books to escape into another world, not be to be dragged thru the mud of such violence. I cannot imagine how this book ever got approved for a young adult category – is this really what we want our teens to be reading????? VERY DISAPPOINTED after such an awesome start to the series.

Moonbreeze. I liked the start of this book much better than the last book, Frostbite. I couldn't wait for Elena and Blake to finally come together. Had all of these glorious imaginings of how things would go. But come the middle of Moonbreeze, I was sad. The warning on the book's synopsis about "sensistive content" was not a joke. AT ALL. I wanted to cry. No one died. (Well, no one undeserving of it.) But there are worse things than death. From that point on, the book was harder to read. It made sense and HAD to be treated the way it was. But I didn't enjoy it as much as the first half.
And then, overall, Elena was a little bratty and immature. Blake was Blake, which in this book, after being claimed, meant he was an amazing guy. I just wish they could have figured things out sooner and not gone through so much drama.

Usually when I feel something rated an extra half a star, I round up. I did not this time. SPOILERS:
I was/am so freaking mad that the author used a brutal rape as a way to help the heroine's development and as a plot device to a plot line that can only be described as a SIDE QUEST. The author has put Elena through other things just as traumatic and did an excellent job with those. This whole book was utterly pointless. We honestly could have gotten the same information and have our feelings for the main plot's climax without this book. Without the pointless rape. Without Elena and company being completely stupid. The third book had already set us up nicely with the feelings we were left with in this book. It was a real struggle to read this. I honestly skimmed most of it. But the parts that I enjoyed I really really enjoyed. I think the next one will be much better and more on track.

HOLY MOTHER OF PEARLS THIS BOOK WAS GOLDEN!!! ONE OF MY FAVORITES. WOODS YOU ARE AN ABSOLUTE GENIUS!! I CANT THINK OF ANY OTHER AUTHOR WHO WOULD EVEN COME UP WITH THAT KIND OF STORYLINE. BRAVO I LOVED IT IT WAS SO CREATIVE AND CLEVER!! THE FACT THAT I FINISHED THIS BOOK IN ONE DAY IS ABSOLUTELY GREAT AND YET SO SAD SINCE I HAVE NOTHING LEFT TO READ FROM YOU! I CANNOT WAIT FOR THE NEXT ONE AND GOD KNOWS HOW LONG I HAVE TO WAIT FOR THE NEXT!

I physically pained me to give this book 4 stars, PAINED!
I really felt like there was just way too much politics and not enough explanation of the big things. And honestly I am totally with Elena in thinking that the Dent was a spell. They said something about being in the background for 16 years but never being able to talk to her, or touch her but they never tell you what was happening or where this was at.
I also feel like Blake went from being a bad ass to being a sort of mush ball, I think I like the badass better.
Elena finally breaks all the way and decides that she is going to set Blake free, but as soon s she does he decides to kiss her which happens to be the way for them to Dent. Of course the side effect s of this is that he pretty much looks like he dies, so Elena high tales it out of there for, she ends up in a farm town where everything seems to be backwards. Its almost like the slavery times and she is sold to a man who actually tries to help her. Some awful things happen to her and she ends up back in Tith. At first she wants nothing to do with anyone because she truly believes that she has killed Blake, but once she figures out that she hadn't killed him she was just pissed that he didn't come for her.
In actuality Blake did everything in his power to try to find her but she was in a place that no one thought to looks since they assumed no one could get into there... Etan.
I wanted to be super duper in love with this book but it just seemed like a whole bunch of leading up to big things without nothing really happening. I still love this story though!

This was the 4th book in the series and i am still so in love with this series. Can it be made into a movie, because i would definitely watch it. I laughed, i cried, i got annoyed, pretty much felt all the emotions lol but i also felt them with the other books too. I'm gonna be sad when i'm done with the series because it had kind of taken over my life!
I really enjoy the way Blake is turning out to be and i cant wait to see what happens when him and Elena really do bond all they way and see what they can accomplish with freeing Etan and whatever else comes their way

I had a couple problems with this book. I still absolutely love this series and really enjoyed this installment. However, it felt like it had missed it's final editing round. I found so many mistakes in this book with just proper sentence flow and it was really frustrating. Also, Elena- my poor, wonderful stubborn Elena. Her attitude to Blake throughout the later parts of this book were so frustrating, but I did understand it. They just really need to work on their communication skills.

It was alright...
I thought this book would be really good and I had high expectations. I liked that you got to see more things from Blakes perspective and that you got to see the reasons behind his actions. I also thought parts of the story were good and it was a bit thrilling at times. The last part of the book was more enjoyable in my opinion.
What I didn't like about this book was that in the beginning it had a long recap of everything that had happened and that felt reallllyy unnecessary. Like sure if you haven't read the first books in a long time the recap might've been good, but as a person that is binge reading this series the recaps are really annoying and I think the book would be better without them. Another thing that REALLY bothered me was Elena, ugh how can a character be so annoying!! The way she just got mad at everything and didn't want to listen to people. How she just got mad at Blake because he couldn't find her, like wtf. Just because someone can't find you, you shouldn't get mad?? I'm just very irritated because of the way she is in the book. I hate when people don't communicate, don't even try to fix things and get mad at noting, hehe.
Oh and there was NO trigger warning for this book! At least not on the audiobook I was listening to! There's not even a warning on the goodreads description. Like dude, you Need to put these warnings on these books because things like rape can be super triggering! And there might be younger people reading these books. Like the first books were pretty innocent and then BAM you get to the middle of the book and you're scarred. The only way I knew the scene was coming was because I read some reviews about the book when I got irritated about the recaps. I'm at least glad that I had a bit of a warning and could prepare myself, but I can't imagine how it might be for those that don't know about it!
But other than that I think I enjoyed about 60% of it and I'm currently listening to the next book and I'm about 30% in and so far it's pretty good! So I'm going to continue reading that and I hope it'll be really good!

Moonbreeze is the fourth book in The Dragonian Series, but not the last one. I’ve waited to read this for so long. I absolutely loved the previous novels in this series and was really excited to read the continuation of Elena’s story. I can now say that I absolutely love her and Blake together. That Rubicon really frustrated me to no end through the whole series, continuously refusing to be Elena’s dragon, but it only made me anticipate more what would happen, and I have to say that I was not disappointed.
The author’s stories keep getting better and better. Her writing style is just so addicting and always makes me want to read more. I loved Frostbite, the third book in the series, but this one is my new favorite. It was action-packed and things kept happening. This book was definitely the longest to date, but I read it rather quickly and it was everything I wanted and more! I love the world the author created and the characters. She keeps popping out new ideas and plot twists that I would have never expected.
I learned a lot more in this novel. Secrets kept coming out to light and this book went into a direction I did not predict. We have a few chapters with Blake's point of view, which gave us insight about what really happens when a dragon Dents, and it’s definitely not a spell to enslave like Elena and Blake thought. We also understand him and his motives a bit more. Something really terrible happened as well and it was an emotional roller coaster. Let’s just say that both Elena and Blake are stubborn as hell. We see a lot of them together in this novel.
I recommend this to anyone who loves fantasy and romance books. You will not be disappointed. I’m already waiting for the last book in the series. Will definitely be reading it as soon as it comes out!

I am actually convinced Elena is one of the worst heroines I’ve ever read. Essentially this installment in this delightful series finds us essentially no where different. I am convinced this series could have been one book and we would have been better off. Elena and Blake have a destiny to fulfill, but it seems like we are leaving the fate of a lot of people in incompetent hormonal teenagers. First Elena wanted to fulfill their destiny, but Blake didn’t. Things happen in this book that are terrible from a human perspective not just a literary perspective. These things then isolate Elena for the millionth time. This I can appreciate, however Elena has a long history of shutting down and being terrible to her friends and those wanting to help her. She is a selfish main character who claims to put her people first, but actually does what is important to her. I honestly don’t know how her friends are friends with her. Sammy you can do better. Becky is pretty terrible anyways and needs to take a class on helping people through emotionally charged trauma.
I know I said these books were short and quick, but this book was about 500 pages too long. On to the last one and hoping that an entire country gets their crap together and stops trusting two dramatic teenagers to save everyone 🤷♀️

This book is so much darker that the previous books it seems. Just when you think things might go right again for Elena her world keeps being flipped around. My heart breaks for what she goes through in this. It was a lot to take in as a reader even.
This book has several major turning points. I really love Blake in this one. While I feel bad for Elena and was right there with her is some ways, she also frustrates me at times with how stubbornly naive she can be in this. I missed Cheng but liked seeing more Emmanuel.
2020 audiobook - Wow the scene where everything changes between Elena and Blake is so more dynamic and emotional this time! I didn't feel this one was as dark as it was. The narrator sounded too chipper at those times. So I very mixed thoughts on that. I loved focusing more on the farm and those Elena is with. I liked seeing how Blake earns her trust and what he goes through for her.
