Rusty Briggs knows his chances of finding a man while living outside Sweetwater, Texas, are slim to none. Few know about his little secret, but his ranch hands have run out on him, and the folks in town aren’t as hospitable as they were before the incident. He’s resigned himself to the fact that working his ranch will have to be enough, or he will need to sell and move to the big city…that is until he meets Trent Anderson.

On the outside, Trent appears to be a man with full access to silver spoons and caviar dreams, but his parents cut him off and tossed him out once they discovered he was gay. After living on the street, selling himself, and ending up in a destructive relationship, Trent pulled his life together and came out on top by using his compassion and intelligence—or so Trent thinks. Recently, Trent’s grandfather passed away and left him money as long as he met a few conditions, like living in Texas for ninety days. But Trent’s secret benefactor, Reed, is dissatisfied that Trent isn’t in Atlanta and wants him back. The only issue for Reed is that Trent is involved with Rusty.

Money, greed, lust, and power work to keep Rusty and Trent apart. They are forced to trust each other when life falls apart, but can they become close enough in ninety days to create a solid, trusting relationship, or will old relationships come between them?

The first word that pops into my head to describe Tempted in Texas is definitely "sweet". And while there are aspects of the story that I could have done without, overall I found this to be a good read that I would recommend to others who are fans of the genre.

The best part of the story? Rusty. He is far and away my number one character, and his emotions and actions (along with his hot and sexy self) make him a keeper for any book boyfriend shelf no matter who you are. While he does seem to fall really fast for Trent (they both fall really fast for each other actually), the depth of caring he shows-especially when he continually emphasizes to Trent that Trent is the one in charge-and his thoughtfulness demonstrate just how wonderful he is.

As for Trent, at times he seemed a bit too timid and more twink than I usually care for in an M/M story, but the way he is written and how his character and Rusty's interact and bond make it so that this personality type works for this story.

But when it comes to the predominant secondary character of Reed...at first his character's introduction into the mix was fine, but after a while with his repeated insistence on trying to come between Rusty and Trent and everyone getting wound up and then defusing again...and again...it just started wearing on me by the time I was done reading. And the addition toward the end of Rusty's every-now-and-then hookup Edan just felt like a bit too much to me.

I do wish we could have seen more of a conclusion with the terms of Trent's grandfather's will stipulations, and whether the getaway ranch/camp plans he was considering would come to fruition. It felt like the ending was a bit rushed without complete closure to the things that were brought up within the story.

This was a 3.5-star read for me, but would have been higher with a more satisfying ending (and less Reed and no Edan). This is for the 18+ M/M romance fans as it does contain adult M/M sexual content. Oh, and please don't hog Rusty once you read this...I'm claiming regular visitation rights ;-)

Save a horse and ride a cowboy? Well I guess that’s what Trent did when he is forced to live ninety days in Texas on the ranch his bigoted grandfather has bequeathed him subject to him adhering to the conditions set. There he meets his kindly neighbour Rusty who also happens to be a sexy as hell cowboy and gay. Result!

Rusty has been managing on his smaller ranch on his own due to his workforce leaving when they found out he was gay. Rusty doesn’t venture much into town or mingle with the townsfolk, he doesn’t need that kind of attention. But when he sees the guy in the flash car arrive at the neighbouring ranch he feels a need to go and support him. Especially as he has no electricity, furniture or food and drink. But once he lays eyes on the man he is hooked to wanting more in return from Trent.

I did like this sweet storyline and the relationship of Rusty and Trent. There wasn’t much drama which I have come to expect when a story is set in Texas where the drama tends to be about the bigotry of the locals. None so much in this book, in fact Rusty and Trent do not venture into town much at all. However trouble does come looking for them in the shape of Reed, Trent’s rich friend from Atlanta. I was a little confused about Reed as he came across as a likable, rich sexy older guy but then the storyline made me think maybe he is not meant to be that. It just got a little confusing as to his part in the story – the nice older guy or a jealous leech. I also thought the second incident with him was just a repetition of the first so the story kind of got caught in a loop which had me scratching my head. Another instance was when Rusty’s old hook up turned up which was a little predictable.

For me I would have liked to have had more angst and drama interwoven with the sweet that was Rusty and Trent, as they were definite winners.

As I say a lovely sweet romance, light on the drama but heavy on the love between two lost beautiful men. Three and a half stars.

My Rating: 3.5 of 5 Stars

Rusty lives in Texas and he's gay. That about sums up what Rusty has to live through day in, day out. His misery is knowing he will never find someone who will love him and be loved by him. Sure, he has a friend who drops in once in a while, but that's physical and does not involve the heart (or so he thinks). Just as he is resigned to a lonely, loveless life, Trent drives into town.

Trent had it all, money, looks, education, he got it. He lost everything when he came out, it seems he was not good enough for 'rents for rent. To survive, he went into activities he is ashamed of knowing he will never find anyone to love him for who he is, not what he became or was.

When Rusty met Trent, there was an attraction. Their tentative romance came out of the need to just be with someone. The trust was another story, as someone from the supposed past comes in the picture and gives them both a problem they never wanted to face.

Rusty and Trent. They gave each other the chance and they clicked.

Feel good books are meant to be enjoyed, and I really enjoyed this one. There was angst, romance, a bit of conflict, and a secret that could potentially destroy a happiness. Fairy-tale like, set in a place where it would take time for people to realize this is 2015, going 2016, Trent and Rusty's story is romantic and hopeful.

Some guys are just not cut out to be cowboys. Some guys have that natural swagger. That natural boot-wearing way about them. Some guys don't. And don't want to. Ever.

Rusty is not one of those guys. He is a real life, tight jean wearing cowboy. He loves his ranch, the work, the life.

...all he wanted was a fresh cup of hot coffee and some food that was made at home and not out here. That was a lie; he wanted so much more.

What he wanted was for the life that he loved to be someplace that accepted who he loved. Not the small minded, small town he lived in.

Trent has a heart for helping runaways. In the big city. Where he can be accepted for who he is and do the work he is called to do. But he finds himself taking a time out from his life to spend 90 days in Texas. He has to endure for 90 days to get the inheritance that will make his dreams come true.

What he never dreamed of was the sexy neighbor. A man who makes him dream of a new life. Who helps him see his life and his future in a new way.

Sexy isn't a body size. It's a personality trait.

I love that line! Ms York has done it again. She has given us a love story, a super sexy love story with characters you care about and want to be happy. Rusty and Trent are quick to love. They take us from convenience to happily ever after. In a quick read that will leave you wanting more

Tempted in Texas by author Sara York is a sweet romance I really loved reading. We have the story of Rusty and Trent.
Rusty is a gay cowboy in a small town. This makes his life really hard. He is doing all the ranch work by himself. He really just wants a special man in his life to share the ranch life with. He just doesn't have the time or know where to look for Mr. Right.
Trent is openly gay. He has to live in the town for 90 days to for-fill his grandfather's will request. He works at a shelter and the money he would get from his inheritance will go for that. So he is very motivated to stay.
I really liked Trent, he is kind, loving just a little bratty, and just a fun all around character to see unfold.

I love how Ms. York has great character connections. Her men in this book really feel well rounded and full of life. That makes me love them too. I also like how even though the bigoted town thing has been done before, it was not pressed too hard in this book. I really like that most of the concentration is on the characters and their love. This is the book you pick up when you want to believe true love does conquer all.

What would you do if you were set to inherit a fortune from a man that hated you? What would you do if you were forced to live in a small homophobic West Texas town for 90 days, afraid of people retaliating against your lifestyle? Luckily Trent didnt have too much to worry about.

Rusty is a born bred Texas rancher. When he drops by his Great Uncles law office, the first thing he notices is the man sitting across from his Uncle. When he finds out that Trent is his new neighbor, he goes out of his way to make sure he's comfortable and taken care of. The rest is history.

What can I say? TEMPTED IN TEXAS is truly a wonderful love story. The love and emotion between Rusty and Trent can be felt from the start. Through insecurities, past lives and people trying to come between them, they stay strong and true to they're love for one another.

This is my confession: This book goes to show you that you can find love anywhere and when you least expect it.

I was given this book by Inked Rainbow Reads for an honest review.

This was a good romance story. I liked how the story had Rusty and Trent meet. Rusty just being neighborly to the new guy and Trent being surprised Rusty was gay. I liked that they spent time together until declaring their love for each other.

The conflict with Trent's friend Reed adds tension to their relationship along with a misunderstanding with a friend of Rusty's. Both issues add a nice twist to the story.

This was a very nice story and I would recommend reading this book.

Tempted in Texas is a short read that is jammed pack with a lot of angst, drama, and sexy guys!! You are not only drawn in by the characters but the over all story. Trent and Rusty are two completely different people but yet they have one think in comment.. They both just want to live their life.

Trent has to go to texas for 90 days to inherit the ranch his grandfather left him. His whole plan was to go there spend the time that needed to be there to get the inheritance, then sell it and move on. But that was before he met his neighbor Rusty. Rusty sparks something inside Trent that hes never felt before and makes him start questioning himself and what hes doing.

This was a short sweet love story between Rusty and Trent. Rusty works alone on his farm because everyone left when they found out he was gay. Trent’s grandfather left him his ranch with a catch. There was a little drama but not much. This book was more of a feel good book, not something that would get you all hot and bothered. It was sweet and not very long, I guess was expecting more drama or angst but not a bad M/M romance book.

A nice short sweet story. I Read this fairly quick, and was drawn into the characters and their story. I loved Trent & Rusty together and was happy with the low angst read. I can't say I would be jumping at the bit to recommended nor will I be in any rush to re-read, but I don't regret reading it.

My first book by this author, & I will def be looking for more.

Pretty good

I liked the book, it was pretty good, but it didn't seem like with the situation in that town that their lives would work out so well. Also it seemed like every 2 pages they had sex which actually got boring.

Unfinished

I liked the premise. The characters? I had some issues with them. It was okay that one was so stereo typical and one was so not. After all opposites do attract. But the continuous need for reassurances got a bit old. Trent was almost too stereo typical. He got a few eye rolls. The thing about Texas ranchers not being good at expressing feelings, not a huge fan of that excuse for not communicating. It seems to me if the dude is aware enough to use the excuse, why not fix it? Then after I struggled to get to the end of the story, I felt it was unfinished. Too many loose ends. An epilogue would have been nice.

Atlantan in Texas

Young men on adjoining ranches and it's instalove. Lots of angst as the backstory is revealed, coupled with self-image issues are helped out by great passion. York writes sympathetic characters in a harsh and unforgiving environment, throwing in connections from the past. Good plot, but not true HEA-like resolution.

I love book. What a way to start a series. Two vastly different characters who come together beautifully. Trent's willingness to sacrifice so much for the shelter. Rusty so emotionally starved. Beautiful. Can't wait for more.

Tempted in Texas is a quick read, however Sara York packs quite a bit of drama, angst and of course the sexy, in the story of Reed and Trent. While they are opposite characters, she really made them click.

Rusty has a ranch in Texas that he pretty much works himself these days. His ranch hands left him and after a slightly embarrassing incident, he isn't everybody's favorite guy in town. Speaking of town, it's small and not yet accepting of Rusty's gay lifestyle. So life alone on the ranch it is for Rusty at the moment. Sure he has a fling when his buddy swings by a couple of times a year, other than that Rusty is by himself since his neighbor died.

The neighbor that recently died happened to be Trent's grandfather. Also a gay man, Trent has had a tortured past and is now steady on his feet and helping others. His grandfather was unaccepting of his lifestyle, so Trent was surprised to hear about the will, as well as the terms and conditions specified by the old man. Live in the house for ninety days and everything is his. Sounds simple to Trent, so he heads from Atlanta to Texas to finally earn some quick money the easy way. Or so he thinks. Once at the house, Trent realizes he isn't in Kansas anymore and may be out of his element more than he originally thought after seeing the handsome man in a cowboy hat at his door.

Trent and Rusty are different as can be, but once they get to talking, realize they have more in common than not and there is an instant mutual attraction they decide to explore. Running the farm and back and forth between the two houses, Rusty and Trent get a good little thing going between them. Enter the wrench to throw in the relationship, Reed.

This is the only character I didn't like in the book. Not because he was "the bad guy", but he was a grown man in his fifties, yet seemed to be extremely immature and whiny which I found annoying. That said, Reed comes in and tries to ruin everything for Rusty and Trent, testing the newly blossomed relationship in more ways than one.

Tempted in Texas was well written and a great start to the series. I'm curious to see how the city boy and country boy end up making all of the plans they have work in the future.

Jen's Review

When I started reading I was quickly pulled into the story. I really loved the premise and was eager to see how it would all play out. Rusty being a cowboy living on a ranch, longed to have someone to share his life with. Living in a small town that doesn’t support homosexuality was really prevalent within the story. When Trent, a city boy in his fancy pants and fancy car comes into town looking to fulfill his grandfather’s terms on his estate, things get a lot more interesting for Rusty.

What I loved about this story was the idea that Trent’s grandfather thought if he put in some ridiculous stipulation into his will that it would fix Trent. Like forcing him to live on the ranch if he wanted his money was somehow going to make him ungay. And Trent thinking it would be a quick 3 months where he’d come out of it the same man he was going into it. What I loved the most was the fact that Trent’s grandfather had it half right. Trent did change but not in the way he would have liked.

I really loved Rusty’s character. I loved that he was patient and always aware of Trent’s insecurities. He never pushed more than Trent would give and was always supportive. They have some unbelievable chemistry, and even though their relationship starts out pretty quickly their connection was believable. I really loved them together.

What started out strong for me unfortunately took a turn and I found myself losing interest. When conflict arises and people from their past start to show up, I just had a hard time buying how easily things were just over looked or forgiven. The way things were resolved just didn’t work for me. It was just too nice, too easy, to clean. When I think about real life and how most people would handle situations like that it just didn’t sit right with me with how it unfolded in the story. The ending totally put me off and not because it wasn’t sweet because it was it just didn’t fit in the moment. This very well can be a case of it’s me not you as I’m sure many fans of Sarah’s writing will enjoy this. There are many things I loved within the story but it just didn’t completely work for me.

Tempted in Texas by Sara York Tempted in Texas is a pretty quick read yet it packs a punch! Rusty owns a ranch in Texas and after an embarrassing incident he isn't the most popular guy in town. The small town doesn't really accept the fact that Rusty is gay either. He does have a fling a couple of times a year when his friend comes by but other than that he is pretty much on his own since his neighbor died. It was a bit sad for me! Here is this great guy yet he has resigned himself to the fact that he is always going to be alone.

Enter Trent whose grandfather happens to be the Rusty's neighbor that passed away.  Trent is surprised when he finds out about his grandfather's will as well as by the the terms and conditions specified by the old man. Live in the house for ninety days and everything is his. His grandfather was less than accepting of the fact that Trent was gay. On top of that Trent has a tortured past that leads him to accept the terms of the will. He heads from Atlanta to Texas to earn some easy money.

Of course nothing is ever that easy! Trent and Rusty are as different as day and night yet they have a lot in common and not just their instant attraction for one another. The pair begin to work together between the two ranches and then Reed gets thrown into the mix. He is in his fifties and acts more like a whiny two year old at times. All in all this was a good read and I got the feeling that as unaccepting as Trent's grandfather was his will just went to prove how much he loved his grandson and thought of Rusty. Bringing Trent there was a way for him to not only provide for him but also help Rusty with his loneliness.

3.5 Heart Review by Dennis

Trent hasn’t had the easiest life but he has come out on top, or at least better then where he’s been. His parents showed no compassion towards him when he came out to them, throwing him out of his home, and also stopping their financial support of his education. He has had to do things that he is not proud of but he did them in order to survive.

Rusty has grown up in Texas and has had a successful ranch life until recently, now that people in Sweetwater have discovered his not so secret secret, he’s gay. After most of his ranch hands have quit and the rest of the town has gotten less friendly he has come to the realization that staying is going to keep him single and lonely and moving means leaving what he loves.

Tempted in Texas is a very sweet tale of two opposites falling in love, Rusty the cowboy, and Trent the city dweller. Trent has to live at his Grandfather’s ranch for 90 days to receive his inheritance. While meeting with the trust lawyer in walks Rusty and there is an instant attraction for both men.

Sara has a well-written story that flows nicely and holds your interest throughout. My only real problem was that it left me wanting more. It left me wanting to know more about the characters, to learn more about them and for them to learn more about each other. Yes, there was an attraction between them and a heated passion for one another but beyond that I feel it fell short. I did enjoy Trent and Rusty together as a couple and I hope their story continues so I do get a chance to discover more about them.

Rusty living outside of Sweetwater, Texas knows it's not easy to find love. Following the incident almost everyone has left him including his ranch hands and the citizens of the town want nothing to do with him. Now he's wondering if running his ranch will be enough or will he have to sell it and move but then he meets Trent.

Trent appears to have it all, looks and family wealth but his parents cut him off once they found out he was gay. Life has not been easy for Trent lately, homeless, prostitution and ends up in a very bad relationship. With everything that he's had to endure he was able to turn his life around. Trent has now inherited a ranch but of course it comes with conditions and one them being that he must live on this ranch for at least 90 days. So he's thinking to stay on for the required time and then get the hell out of dodge, that was until he met his neighbor the hot and sexy Rusty.

This was a sweet Texas romance filled with hot guys, Texas life, horses and of course some angst. I enjoyed the characters of Rusty and Trent and the great love connection that developed between them. I was torn about Reed who is Trent's rich friend in Atlanta as he seemed nice but within the story I feel he was not meant to be so nice. I quite enjoyed the detailed writing of what life is like on a Texas ranch and the story flowed very smoothly. It was fun to read about how the country boy and a city boy make it as a couple and the plans they come up with to be together. If you enjoy a sweet Texas romance then you will enjoy Tempted in Texas by Sara York.

Rusty Briggs is a hard working gay man, who knows that his chances of finding true love are slim in his small town in the heart of Texas. He has managed to keep his deepest secret to himself all the while holding out hope that one day he will find that special someone.

Trent Anderson swore to himself years ago that he would never step foot back into the town of Sweetwater Texas. Unfortunately his grandfather had other plans for him. In order to receive his inheritance his grandfather stipulated that he was to spend 90 days on the family ranch. Trent has decided to do just what he needs to in order to full fill his obligations, get his inheritance, and get back to his life in Atlanta. What Trent never realized was that the sexy cowboy just next door is also gay, and very attracted to Trent.

This is one of those books that is filled with good sappy romance. When you start reading it you will immediately realize that two souls meet and are drawn to each other right from the start. It will wrap you up tight within its grip and just make you all warm and fuzzy. This is one of those stories that is great to wrap up in front of the fireplace, grab your favorite beverage, and just relax and enjoy the story. It is just a true love story.

Now, it does not go with out the typical relationship growing pains, but that is what just gives it a bit more character and depth. For a book that is very simple, it is really enjoyable to read, and will give you that warm happy filling of just being in love and the awwww factor. I hope you enjoy it like I did.

I received an ARC for an honest review for United Indie Book Blog

This is the story of two men both living two different lives but they both only want one thing and that is to live their lives. Trent is not all that he seems to be, his past is something that defiantly affected his future but he does not let that bother him, he continues to push to be more and not what others see him as. Rusty is living his life but it seems everyone around him has an issue with his life more than he does.
The chemistry between the two of them is very out there .The two of them seem to feed off of each other and make this a very good story. I enjoyed this story very much because the characters were very likable and enjoyable. I would recommend this book to any romance reader because it was more than a male/male book it was a love story that was full of passion and intrigue. The plot was there, the content was there and that mix was more than enough to make a great story.
Ms. York has written a very passionate story of love and romance .A story of growing and one of pursing what feels right no matter what others think. I really love this story and I know when others read it they will feel the love and the passion between the characters .They will experience what they go through to experience their HEA.So go experience the heat in Tempted in Texas because it is so worth it .

Trent has no desire to go live in Texas for 90 days. He desperately needs the money from his grandfather’s estate, not for him but the good it will do the shelter he works.
The stars of the how--oops-- I mean book: are Trent and Rusty. Trent has a few secrets. I loved that Trent wanted the money, not for himself but the good of the shelter back in Atlanta. Rusty is a sexy cowboy that is half in the closet. The last hand he had caught him with his occasional bed buddy and left. He knew rumors circulated about him, but no one approached him with it.
Characters that stole my heart---I wouldn’t say Reed actually stole my heart, but he was intriguing. A very wealthy man from Atlanta that came and dropped a bombshell on Trent. What will Trent do with this news? How will Rusty react? I did find Reed very intriguing and hope we see him in the future.
The story is insta- love (love at almost first sight). It is fast developing romance and scorching.
I thought it ended a bit abruptly and expected just a little more drama from the town but, all in all, it is a perfect set-up for a new series! I can’t wait to see what happens next.
If you like fast moving romance (insta-love), hot, sexy cowboys, contemporary westerns, a magnificent romance and some hot man-sex this is for you

Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian I Dig Good Books, I ws gifted my copy of this book for review.

Trent has to stay in Sweetwater for 90 days to gain the inheritance his bigoted grandfather left him. He planned to stay, sell up and go. But that was before he met Rusty, his neighbour. His hot, sexy neighbour who does things to him that no one ever has before.

Can Trent be really in happy in the place that holds so many painful memories?

I'm left with one word, and one only, nice.

It was a nice book, with nice characters, its nicely written. I just can't think why I'm left thinking nice though!

I didn't find a connection to Trent nor Rusty. I didn't like that, although mentioned from time to time, there was no visit to town, no incident or meeting that caused issues for the men. I was expecting something to happen in town, because of the way some minor characters acted when Trent turned up, but there wasn't any, and I wanted it, I think the book would benefit from it.

I even thought Reed was nice, after he got over his blip for Trent.

Some people will love this book, but unfortunately, I can't.

Sorry, but I did like it!

3.5 stars.

When Trent Anderson listened to the provisions in his Grandfathers will, he didn't know just how life changing they would be.

Rusty Briggs was a lonely cowboy, he has a once a year hookup but it didn't seem like enough anymore.

Sadly though, being the only gay man in town did not make finding anyone to love an option.

Trent had not had an easy time growing up, his family disowned him when they found out he was gay. Living on the streets had led him to do things he didn't want to but finally he thought he had found his place helping to run a shelter for kids.

Going back to his Grandfathers place and having to live there for 90 days just to gain his inheritance seemed like a small price to pay if the money could help the kids.

Having Rusty as his neighbour turned out to be the best thing for both of them, the attraction was instant and despite an annoying older friend trying to muscle in on the deal, they were both falling in love.

This was a nice, comfortable book to read with just the right amount of passion.

I instantly liked both the men and wanted a happy ending for them.

Yet again another great read from Sara York.

Rusty & Trent!!! Love them!! They are such amazing characters. You can’t help but love them both!!

Rancher vs. city boy? Gay in small town Texas? Money vs. not so much money? How can they make it work? Well, you have not not care about the unimportant things and care very much about the really important stuff. Can the rancher bring the city boy to the country? Can the city boy learn to ranch? What a wonderfully told story!!

The book is so simple. But this day and age with all the different types of genre’s out there and even the different types of stories in each genre….it’s refreshing to read a book that’s got lots of heart, some hard times and even slightly controversial but still HOT!!! It’s not a long read and it’s not a hard read but it’s definitely a book I would read again and recommend to people.

Highly Recommend!!!

After his grandfather’s death, Trent finds out that in order to receive his inheritance he must leave his Atlanta home and live in his grandfather’s house in Texas, for ninety days straight.

It’s going to be a long ninety days for this gay man, in a town that doesn’t accept the gay lifestyle. He meets Rusty, the neighbor from the ranch next door. A friendship forms….

Will Trent get through the ninety days and get his inheritance? Will there be more to this story? I really enjoyed this book, and hope that there is more to
