Quinn Laramie moved to Mill Valley to care for his sick Aunt Betsy. After her recovery, he invested hours once spent in hospitals hiking and exploring the surrounding hills rather than returning to an empty apartment in the city.
Patrick, a photographer and self-proclaimed paranormal expert, saved Quinn from tumbling into a flooded creek where a bridge had washed away years ago, taking a pair of doomed lovers with it. Quinn and Patrick meet for other creepy jaunts thereafter: a derelict one-room schoolhouse, an abandoned cemetery, the burned-out shell of a home… Quinn hasn’t seen any ghosts yet, but Patrick’s shy kisses haunt him after each paranormal adventure ends.
Quinn wants more, and with their next spooky tour set to begin, Patrick is finally ready to give in. But what surprises wait them in the eerie manse atop Warner Hill?

I'm like Scooby Doo at their very mention. Not interested to watch them in movies or read about them, most definitely my least fave paranormal being. I try to avoid most ghost romances
Quinn, a medical transcriptionist who remains in a small Pennsylvania town, searching for possible haunted places with a possible new love, Patrick. The story starts in typical Gregg fashion. The reader is thrust into the thick of things while she slowly doles out the twists and turns. And for 11K, there are twists!
It's not as graphic as I've read from the author in the past. And I've read Gregg..."sweet" before, this is leaning to the romantic side. It's not sugary and the lone fuck scene proves that she most certainly can write a hot scene with filthy words (it's not in my Gregg top 5 though). Though fans of big guy bottoming and butt virgins might delight and coo from it. I did.
On one hand, I wished I got a chance to read and experience that month of Patrick & Quinn's dating. I think maybe getting a chance to watch them fall in love, instead of being thrown into the romantic declarations (amidst the twists). It read insta-love. And though when I read paranormal, insta-love can vary, I wish the time was given because it would have made the declarations...sweeter? More believable? I dunno, it was so fast.
And then on the other hand, it didn't pussyfoot around. Gregg is known for introducing her characters, giving just enough to tell their tale and that's it. "Sightings" does exactly that. I get what happened, why it happened and that twist actually surprised me. I liked it. I can't say this was dragged out. The mystery part helped for me. I do question how quickly everything is accepted but overall, I enjoyed.
I enjoyed a ghost romance. LOL What's the world coming to?
Recommended for non-ghost romance lovers (it's not too heavy). It's Gregg-lite.
When I read Collared, I really liked the sci-fi world, and my nether regions were titillated.
When I read Tame a Wild Human, I questioned my life choices...and my nether regions were titillated.
Now with 'Sightings', I liked the romance and the paranormal. But my nether regions were actually a bit bored.
I've been reading quite a lot of MM paranormal lately, so I wasn't expecting anything new. However, Kari Gregg threw in some very surprising twists and turns that made the story enjoyable. It took me a while to catch on to what was happening. Though, in my defence, I was operating on about 5 hours of sleep yesterday, so I wasn't at my best.
Most of the relationship development happens before the beginning of the book, but I could still see that Quinn and Patrick had come to care for each other deeply. The two were sweet, with Quinn soothing away Patrick's fears, and Patrick coming out of his shell. However, I missed the kinky goodness that I've come to expect from Kari Gregg. There's a sex scene at the end, but my perverted self was a tad disappointed.
Overall, this was a good read. I'd recommend it for readers looking for a quick MM paranormal fix.
A cute, and sweet story. I'm a sucker for ghosts and paranormal stuff, and I really liked those aspects of this book, but I found the sex a bit on the boring side. Too stale, and it didn't really fit the dynamic of the characters, or the feel of the rest of the story. Felt a bit tacked on. I also was disappointed one of the few plot points that came up towards the end was just dropped. It left me with an unfinished sort of feeling. Not bad, but not great either.
Not my favorite of hers, as I've usually enjoyed every story of hers. Not really scary or sexy enough, though things got a little spooky once you realize what's going on.
I hemmed and hawed about what to rate this spooky story, which I read twice, and realized only a 5 Heart would suffice. I loved this short tale, with the sweet, shy paranormal expert Patrick and the adventurous Quinn. Since the story is short, I don’t want to give anything away but as the two visit one scary spot after another, they begin to fall for each other and eagerly anticipate their date at the scary manse. Though I guessed what was coming, at the same time it wasn’t what I thought. The story is sweeter and more tender than a scary story usually is and I loved it. Patrick’s mother, with her nonchalant attitude, and Patrick’s disbelief at Quinn’s stoicism, “You can’t be hungry…” and just Quinn himself, down to earth and ready to make the best of things; all of these contributed to a wonderful read. Highly recommended.
This is about a guy named Quinn who moves to a small town in Pennsylvania to help out his aunt Betsy. The story starts out with driving through a storm to meet someone named Patrick at a supposedly haunted manor house before going back in time to when he first moved to town.
Quinn meets Patrick, who saves him from falling into a creek, while he's exploring one day. They become friends, go to all of the supposedly haunted places around town and begin dating. I figured out Patrick's story right away, but Quinn's had a fun twist. There's a sex scene that's kinda there. They fell in love too fast for me.
Overall it's an ok, quick read, but there were some typos.
Quinn started exploring after his aunt's health improved. Patrick saves him several times while exploring haunted sites. However when a storm rages, Patrick is too scared to go out so Quinn finally succumbs to death but doesn't realize it. Quinn joins Patrick for their arranged date where Patrick breaks the news to Quinn. Quinn, while realizing he'll miss family and friends, sees the bright side. Quinn and Patrick love each other and will be together for all eternity. Also the neat bonus granted to those who died like they did only makes things better.
Was not expecting this story when I started reading it. on the one side disappointed but when I step back and breath and realise that this book is an alternative approach to HEA I realise that every now and again you need a left of centre challenge to what you read. The book is short , sweet and sad, joyous, hot MM sex and warmth. It probably is he right length but some of the things I felt could have been dealt with better, is the relationship with his aunt and Patrick's mother. I look forward to reading more from this author in the future.
What a sweet story. Original and adorable. I loved the characters and I loved how it all played out. The only reason I didn’t give it five stars is that I felt like I came in somewhere in the middle of the story.
The romance all happened off page before the book started with the first time they met be told rather than shown. It had only been four weeks. I would have loved for the story to be longer and have that meeting be told in real time and then the in between parts could be told in just a couple of paragraphs.
The plot is based on really interesting concept we are not aware of at the beginning. Then we realize the truth together with the protagonist and the rest of book is typical ...
I liked the story, but was missing some additional obstacles/mysteries between revealing the truth and final scene. I understand that this is just short story, but strongly believe that the author can transform this into interesting book.
Patrick and Quinn share a love that goes beyond life and death. Patrick saves Quinn over and over and falls head over heels with him. Definitely worth reading....
This book was a bit of a surprise. I kinda was expecting someone to have been dead but was still surprised when I found out that Quinn was killed on the drive to meet Patrick. I was expecting Patrick was going to be dead but still was a surprise. I enjoyed this story. I felt that the author did a great job of explaining everything and was worth the read. I have read other books by this author and I have liked the ones I have read so far.

Other reviewers complain about this story not being scary -nor sexy- enough. I guess it depends from the expectations you have read it with and whether you have found it in a horror anthology or not. Personally I have found it rather sweet and enjoyable. The author should have probably woven more tension into her plot to make the final, ghostly denouement stylistically more believable, but the love story does not suffer because of this.
I have never read a M/M paranormal romance like this book!!! It threw me for a loop!!! It was short, sweet, and so HOT!! I have said before, sometimes you just need a quickie to get you through the day!!! After I finished this book, I ordered 2 other stories by this author immediately!! I will be on the lookout for more from you, Kari Gregg!!! This book is a good read.
I enjoyed this short and somewhat bittersweet romance. Despite being short it took me on a couple twists and turns. Keeping it from a higher review is the sex scene. Patrick goes from shy and sweet to dirty talk in 0-60. It seemed out of character to me.
Lovely little spooky love story! Short enough that I reread it immediately -- holds up very well even after you know all the secrets. Really well written -- imagery and phrases so nice -- too bad I generally hate horror, even in a love story, so I don't know if I'll be reading more of her work.
Decent short read. Quick, predictable, not a lot of development and quick quick fall in love/bed/relationship that moved way too fast but easy enough to shrug off and go with the flow. Lack of depth in the characters and development kept it from being anything more than a quick flick of a read.
4-1/2 Stars Sightings is a beautiful little blend of paranormal and romance with a dash of mystery. Could it have been better had it been a bit longer? Perhaps but frankly, I loved it just the way it is. Sweet, tender, and yet a certain splash of eerie that makes perfect Halloween reading.
3.4 stars. The design of ghosts' love is interesting but less surprising. It is fun to see how fast Quinn accept the fact, but his abrupt love for Patrick isn't that convincing.
