Becoming Daddy's Girl

Rate this book
When Kimberly’s boss, Charles, deploys to Iraq before she can admit that she’s fallen in love with him, she intends to do her best to let him go and move on with her life, but everything changes after Charles suffers a near-fatal injury and comes home temporarily to recuperate.

Wounded or not, Charles isn’t going to let a girl like Kimberly slip through his fingers, and he doesn’t hesitate to let her know how he feels. She responds beautifully to his dominant lovemaking, and her willingness to submit to him only increases his desire for her. But when duty sends Charles back overseas, will it tear them apart or can Kimberly’s love for her daddy withstand the storms of war until he comes home and she can be his little girl again?

So I write about my characters’ messy, unpredictable, and inexplicable journeys to love.”

If there were another 5 hours in the day, Normandie would spend more time needle-pointing and playing with photography. Instead, she’s a Pinterest addict and sports junkie who’s crazy for Twitter and the color pink. She lives with a passel of children, her hunky husband, and a pet pig who loves Red Bull.

ARC received for review

Well, now I can say I've read one with this theme, and no, I won't be reading another one.

I really wanted to give it three stars cause the whole calling him Daddy while they're having sex just weirded me out. I can't though cause it's a great story with drama, a nasty ex, and hot sex (I just have to block that word out). Their emails back and forth are just amazing. That was the best part of the book. And then that stinky ending...blah.

*5 stars!!*

I received this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion from the powerful woman herself Miss Normandie Alleman...

I can’t express how much I love Normandie's books; her words pull you in and get you stuck in a world that is both blissful but also so amazing!

I have read a good load of Normandies books now and I can say without a doubt that she is one talented woman, I mean she should be touring and coming to all over the globe because I've seen just how many fans she has and it’s so amazing to watch her grow with this chapter in her life, her fanbase is getting stronger and bigger and it’s down to her brain and her amazing charm that pulls you into a world of happiness, these books change people and for the better I’d say as some bits in her books have changed me and made me overcome fears I have had and also new sexiness that has made me and my wife very happy ;)...so thank you Normandie and please for the love of all things sexy and smuttastic don't ever stop being you!!!

Okay review time...hold on because I have a tiny moan coming along....VANESSA!!

I hated that witch and I mean that with a passion, she got on my nerves so bloody much that at one time and this is no lie, I had to put my phone down and I don't mean put it down like your ending a nice call with your loved one, I mean put it down with force that made the remote control bounce a couple times on the sofa!! Rant over...

I gave this book 5 stars and I stick by that but I will say this though, I felt like it took a bit longer than usual for the flow to start going, I liked the emails and all but I think it was a bit much after a while.
I also felt like Kim wasn't a part of the situation, she was just on the side line even though Charles told her everything I only felt like he put her first which was near the end and that made me feel like they were complete..

I loved this tale of these two amazing people, finding their ways to one another and helping each other but not only in the bedroom but in their everyday lives.

Normandie has written this with a passion and you can tell when reading this that Kim and Charles meant something to her and I felt that when reading this that she had to get their story out there, we have read about this couple in previous books but I loved how we get to know how it all started and looked into their own world.

I’m not gonna get into it but just to sum it up we have Charles who is married to Vanessa who treats him more like a dog than a husband and father, he is such a caring man and such a lovely father to their son that he goes away to the Middle East as a contractor for the government to pay off the debts that she put them in and to get a divorce that he desperately needs.
Kimberly works for him and she didn’t want to get these feelings but she can see him for who he is and falls helplessly in love, I like her because even though she doesn’t want to be on the side line her love for him fights her like a thunderstorm and she can’t go on with life without him by her side.

I live and breathe these books, I really can’t get enough of them and I pray there are many more to come.
I think this is a great part to the series and I can’t wait for Normandie to bring out another hehe hopefully soon ;)

I received this book as an ARC for an honest review. This is not a taboo book it is a BDSM type of relationship.

In this book we get the story of Kimberly and Charles. We have seen how this couple has their HEA in the other three books. In this one we find out how it all began. In this book Kimberly is fighting her feelings for Charles she knows that she might have stronger feelings than friendship but doesn't want to act on them because he is still married to Vanessa. Though she feels bad for all the problems that Vanessa gives him she knows unless he leaves her on his own they can't be together. However when something happens so to Charles in Iraq everything changes.

Charles has always been the kind of man to stand by his woman and honor his commitments but he can't be in this marriage any more. No matter how much he gives she is doing nothing but verbally abusing him and he won't have his son growing up watching this happen to his own father. So to pay off their debt and help him to afford a divorce he closes down his construction company and goes to work in Iraq for a 2 year commitment. Shortly after arriving though he ends up with a cut and an infection that threatens to take his life. During this time he is e-mailing back and forth with Kimberly and they are developing a bond that he has never felt in his marriage.

The question remains what will happen when he comes home from Iraq? What will he loose from this infection? This is an amazing story about finding love when it is the worst possible timing and fighting for it with your last breath. This is an amazing story and after reading the first three books in this series and seeing how Kimberly helps all of her friends it is amazing to see how she and Charles got to where they are. I would highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone this is an amazing story.

This is one of those books that just leaves you speechless. Normandie Alleman did such a fantastic job when she wrote Becoming Daddy's Girl.

This book grabs you from the beginning and doesn't let you go. Right away you are drawn into the complex characters of Charles and Kimberly the crazy dynamic of their relationship and the every increasing drama the soon to be ex-wife is causing. The all to real life scenarios in this book hit close to home for me as I am sure it will with many readers. The connection that Normandie creates between the readers and the characters is so fantastic that you don't want the story to end. This book is so super charged with emotion it's as if you're on a non-stop roller coaster ride that you truly don't want to end.

I for one hope to see another story with more of Charles and Kimberly this one definitely left me wanting more at the end. I felt like our amazing our was just beginning and getting warmed up. I'm hoping that she will tell us more about our Sexy Dominant Alpha and the every beautiful and kind Kimberly. Plus I really want to see Vanessa get whats coming to her!

If you haven't had an opportunity to download or read this book yet don't waste another moment it was amazing!

Where to start there was a lot going on in this book. We get a sweet and hot military man who is in a shitty marriage let be honest. Charles basically signs up to go back and get away from his estranged wife mind you they still live together. He has a son that is the only reason why he is still around for. We meet Kimberly who at the time is Charles's secretary. Before he leaves both of them meet for lunch and exchange emails. While he is out of the field Kimberly is the thing the keeps him safe and sane. He starts to feel more for Kimberly and he will not net let her slip from his grasp. Then Charles suffers and injury and is sent home to recover. When he is stateside again he makes his move. She goes to him with open arms and is finally happy and got the man she wanted. A storm brews in the form of his estranged wife. He has to deploy out again and asks her to wait for him. Things become very bumpy ride from their, while Charlie is getting done what he sat out to do Kimberly is holding down the fort and has to deal with Charles’s crazy wife who just plain nasty. Will they get their HEA? Will Kim wait for her daddy of decides she wants out?

I received a copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

If you don't like the DD/lg dunamics in a relationship, then this book and this series is not for your. However, if you haven't tried something like this and would like to, then you can start with this book. This is the fourth book in the series, but it's a good starting place for new readers because it has the best story out of the four books in the series.

The first three books, for me, were centered too much on the sex and the DD/lg relationship. Becoming Daddy's Girl has hot sex, the DD/lg dynamics, sizzling dominance and submission scenes that all come hand in hand with a story that was sweet and touching. Our hero is a good man who was unappreciated. Our heroine is a good girl who was in love with the hero for a long time. I think this is my favorite book in the series.

I have read all of Normandie's book and I believe this is one of the best ones. This is a realistic love story. The hero is married to a spoiled witch and due to her spending sprees he goes to the Middle East as a contractor for the government to pay off the debts and get a divorce. The heroine works in his office and has been attracted to him. She sends him email and when he is gravely wounded she writes positive emails to help him through the trauma. Some of the characters from the other daddy books appear and it's like a reunion with good friends. There is much more to the story so grab a copy and you won't be disappointed. The was given an Advanced Reader Copy by the author for an honest review.

Normandie Allen is an author who skillfully explores the human needs and wants generally through BSMD and daddy/girl relationships relation s hips. This book is an amazing departure for her an incredible love story fraught with fears of rejection on many levels. Charles is one of the most amazing male characters ever. In this world of rapid responses and hash tags and abbreviations the series of deeply touching letters (email) harken back to the days of quills and parchment paper and letters touching the heart. This book is so much more...I wish there was a sequence I don't want to see this story end!

He confined her so that the most she could do was writhe slightly, and he liked to feel her struggle against him.

description

A huge shoutout to Normandie Allleman for providing me with the book! You made my day after a horrible week!

It had been several months since the dream about Charles started. In her dream she was in Charles’ workshop with him. She asked him to show her his ‘tools.’ She blushed just thinking about it.

description

As he showed her his array of woodworking tools, he came up behind her and held her close. She’d moaned with pleasure, hoping, praying he’d take her. The beating of her heart sounded in her ears.

I absolutely adored this book best out of the entire series! Though the DD/LG aspect only comes in towards the 75% mark of the book and it is pretty mild, it is still a great read. The front portion of the book was pretty much about of how their relationship formed and grew. I adored Charles and his protectiveness! And I love that he's always down for some rough play. I'm gonna alike him to a teddy bear. I love how fierce and sincerely Kimberly cared for Charles.

She encircled his neck, taking care not to bump his bad arm, and hugged him tight.

description

It felt like they were both safe, him on U.S. soil, and her in his protective embrace. She wished they could stay that way, clinging to each other in a parking lot forever if it meant that he didn’t have to go away again.

His (ex)wife, Vanessa, is an utter bitch though. There were so many time I wanted to just run her over with a truck, multiple times and be done with it. I wanted to wrap Charles up in a hug and soothe his hurt away. What an utter witch. I'd be glad to see karma slap her in the face!

Not only did she see him every day, but now she was seeing him in her dreams. A lot of him.

description

She stared at his big, strong laborer’s hands and her stomach did a flip. What she wouldn’t give to have those hands all over her body.

I have a complaint! The story ended so abruptly I didn't know what to do but to cry in despair. Dramatic, I know but it ended without a definitely ending and epilogue! I like my happy endings! And I'd like to see the witch get burned on a stake and them to have more steamy sex! Overall a love for me <3 Here's a bonus steamy scene for you!

“No need to fear me, Kimberly,” he crooned, then smacked her cheeks again. “I simply can’t help but want to spank that delicious ass of yours.” His palm cracked against it again, stinging the skin on her rump. It warmed with each slap of his hand, and for some reason she liked it.

description

To her great humiliation he spread open her pussy lips. She could feel herself turning red. “What are you doing?” she whined, wishing he would stop and just fuck her already.

“Examining how beautiful you are.”

That he was just staring at her naked buttocks, pulling apart her folds, inspecting every nook and cranny of her pussy made her wriggle with discomfort.

“Hold still,” he said and smacked her bottom again.

“I’m sorry,” she warbled.

“That’s a good girl,” he soothed as he slipped a finger inside her.

Review for Becoming Daddy’s Girl by Normandie Alleman

Reader beware — if you don’t enjoy Daddy/little girl subject matter this book may not appeal to you.

I have to say, every time I see that Normandie Alleman has added a new book to her Daddy’s Girls series I get all kinds of excited. These are a complete guilty pleasure for this book whore. Becoming Daddy’s Girl is one I’ve been secretly hoping for since the first book, Daddy Morebucks, and it is so much more than I could have imagined.

Vanessa is horrible. Just horrible. I wanted to strangle her so many times that I lost count. I kept cursing Alleman for creating this despicable character, but then when I finished reading, I realized the pure genius of having such an unlikable character. Well played, Alleman, well played. For every time I wanted to strangle Vanessa, I wanted to wrap Charles up in a big hug and make it better. Without her, it would have taken me longer to fall for Charles, instead I felt for him from the very start.

I adore Charles. There are so many little things that happen throughout the novel that made my heart squeeze — a true romantic. He could have been a bitter jerk because of his marriage, but no matter how terrible it got, he grew as a man and was determined to be better. Swoon. And the way he loves his son, Benji, talk about ovary explosion.

Then we have Kimberly. Big hearted, loyal, sweet, kind, and so deserving of a happily ever after. The way she so fiercely cared for Charles, and how supportive she was of him, makes her one of the most endearing heroines I’ve read in quite some time. When they finally get the chance to come together as a couple, the passion is not only off the charts hot, but beautifully emotional. The connection they have is deep and you can feel it in every page.

Becoming Daddy’s Girl is by far the most emotionally charged book from Alleman to date. I don’t want to give much away as far as the storyline itself goes, but I have to mention the email correspondence between Charles and Kimberly. It’s not unusual these days to see back and forth between characters via email and text, but the way this is done was intimate. And getting to experience each interaction right along with Kimberly was like crawling into her head and living the moments through her. Amazing.

Five Emotionally Charged Stars and Four Wet Panties.

This was a fun sexy read. I loved seeing the relationship develop between Kimberly and Charles from friends to lovers. I also enjoyed the emails going back and forth while Charles was deployed. I will say that the introduction to Daddy Dom/Baby Girl into their bedroom play was very realistic. They didn't just rush into it, they explored it to see if that was something they would enjoy and then built on it from there. Normandie Alleman has a way of writing that makes me feel as if I am right there with them while everything is happening, almost like a fly on the way watching it all go down, including the new friendships. If you have read Poor Little Daddy's Girl you know things haven't been easy for Charmaine and in this book we see just what happened between her and Preston and the effect it had on her. I LOVED seeing the whole gang with their past partners, it revealed a lot into what their past relationships were like before they found the one they were meant to be with.

I also want to know that while Charles was still legally married to his Biotch of a wife I do not consider him cheating when he was with Kimberly because he was separated from Vanessa and she made it clear at the start that she couldn't wait to be rid of him.

Publisher’s Note: Becoming Daddy’s Girl is a stand-alone prequel set in the world of the Daddy’s Girl series, and it incorporates characters from the first three books in the series, Daddy Morebucks, Daddy's Game, and Poor Little Daddy's Girl.

Normandie Alleman has quickly become one of my favorite go to authors! I love all of the little intricacies that she puts into a story. She has stolen my heart with Becoming Daddy's Girl and I definitely do not want it back!

First let me start off by saying that Becoming Daddy's Girl was absolutely incredible. As an Army wife this story hit incredibly close to home for me. At times I found myself having difficulty reading parts of it because I was so busy relating (my husband is currently deployed) to what military spouses go through during time of war or deployment. Normandie Alleman hit every single emotion the fear we feel, the sadness, the anger, waiting in anticipation and wondering will he/she come home. Will I ever see him or her again? I found myself in tears more than once in this amazing book over emotions that were brought up by this amazing author. Not only did she create a profound connection for the characters but she created such a deep connection for the reader so much so that it was hard to let go of the story at the end. I really wanted it to continue and I want this story to work out so badly for these two that I find myself rooting for them. This storyline was honestly perfect it is one that we face in the military quite often and the fact that this amazing author was able to tell this story with so much accuracy to what actually goes on inside our lives was incredible.

This story was full of suspense, some intense drama, there are some love to hate characters in there too! Some incredible hot and steamy action which had me fanning myself quite a few times and Charles is one HOT alpha male! This is one of those stories that just grabs you by the eyeballs and sucks you in from the very first page.

So take my advice and don't skip this one it's good! She does leave us hanging a bit at the end but I did get the feeling it was a to be continued kind of book. So I'm hoping we see more of Charles and Kimberly because I have a feeling their story is just beginning.

If you haven't downloaded or read this book don't wait it was amazing!

Normandie Alleman has done it again! She has given us another fantastic story in The Daddy's Girl series, there aren't enough words to say how good this book is. It is a heartfelt story, with complex believable characters trying to overcome obstacles, and of course there are some wonderful steamy scenes that are sure to raise your body temperature. If you enjoy heartwarming romances with a hint of kink then this is the book for you. Normandie Alleman is the best author of Daddy Dom/little girl romances around, and she always manages to make this slightly taboo BDSM kink sweetly romantic and extremely hot.

We have met Kimberly and her Daddy Dom, Charles, in previous books and now we go back a few years to see how their relationship began. You don't need to have read any of the previous books, it works well as a standalone, but I'd recommend reading them anyway as they are so good.

Charles is stuck in an unhappy marriage, and to be able to pay off his wife's debts and get a divorce he has taken a risky contractors job in Iraq. Kimberly works for Charles and cares alot for him, but she knows he's married so she can't get involved. When Charles is seriously injured in Iraq, Kimberly keeps in touch with him through email and they become close. The emails are very touching, the author shows brilliantly the difficulties of caring about someone involved in the military. Can Charles overcome his illness, divorce his horrible wife and be with the woman he loves?

I enjoyed the way that Normandie introduced the DD/lg kink into their relationship, it felt natural and realistic. The Daddy Dom role fit Charles really well - he's definitely a dominant alpha male, but he's also very caring and nurturing. I really enjoyed reading this book and I was sad when it ended. I hope we don't have to wait too long for the next book in this series Normandie! Becoming Daddy's Girl receives five big stars!

I literally wanted to reach into the book pages and bitch-slap someone. I think it’s great when an author’s writing makes us feel so much. That person is Vanessa, currently married to Charles, she has made his life a living hell. He has finally had it with her manipulative ways, what makes it hard for him to leave her is his son Benji, he doesn’t want his son hurt.

Kimberly has been working for him for a while now and while nothing untoward happened, she has started falling for her boss. When Charles decides to he needs to go to Iraq in order to procure enough money to pay off his debts (that Vanessa has incurred), he and Kimberly begin a pen-pal correspondence. However, not too long into his commitment in Iraq, he is injured and it becomes gravely infected. He comes home to recover but Vanessa cannot be moved to care for him, so Kimberly does.

This is where I just adored how Charles and Kimberly become a couple. I think it really had to do with the correspondence they had going via email, it really was very touching. At his worst, he finds true love and Kimberly already in love with him does what she can to help him mentally and physically. A truly modern day fairy tale love story. You will not be disappointed, if you’ve read Normandie’s previous books in the series you will definitely recognize some of her other characters and of course seeing how Charles and Kimberly came to be an established couple.

Once again Alleman blows us away. She has the ability to suck us into her stories. We know for certain we'll cry, scream, kick, and definitely be turned on. Becoming Daddy's Girl is about longing and discovery. For Kimberly finding out her boss is leaving for Iraq leaves her devastated. She has longed to tell him of her true feelings but held back because of his personal situation.

When Charles almost dies after only being away for a short time he comes to realize that his heart has been with Kimberly all along. He craves to be the strong Daddy she wants. He knows that they can make if they can just survive an ocean away from each other.

Alleman has a unique writing style that focuses more on a story-line and feelings rather than the sex. The best part of this prequel is that we get a taste of other characters in the Daddy's series. I cannot wait to see what the next book will bring. As always, these can be read as standalone novels but you gather more from reading the series.

I adore Normandie’s Daddy series!!! This story was a rare treat. It included characters from her other books. The cool thing about this story is that it can be read as a stand-alone, as it is a prequel to the others. I recommend you read this and the other books in this series to enjoy the full effect…each story is something special!!! I really enjoyed the development of the two characters…Charles and Kimberly. They seems to complement one another and the love story was so sweet. I hate hate hate Vanessa…she is a very cruel, spiteful and verbally abusive woman. Of course Charles sees a better life with Kimberly and the two of them fall in love….their relationship gets steamier and steamier. It was so cool how their love grew, and they both discovered they liked the "daddy - little girl" relationship. I hope there is a sequel to this since I want to see a nice resolution. Bravo Miss Normandie…awesome job once again!!!

Charles and Kimberly have a working relationship. He is her boss... until he goes off to a war zone to help his financial situation. They have been nothing put co-workers and he is also in the process of a divorce. While he is away they keep in contact and develop a friendship/relationship. They have there ups and downs along with struggles and surprises on the way.
I liked this book a lot. The way Charles and Kimberly develop their relationship was sweet. I did not care at all for Charles wife she was nasty. My only problem with this is I don't see Charles as assertive as a Daddy Dom is portrayed in this series. He just appears to be a sweet man who let his wife take advantage of him. Still and excellent story and I really enjoyed it!

~~~~~~~~~~Kirsty's ★★★★ Review~~~~~~~~~~
I did enjoy this. It starts with a great back story about how Kimberly and Charles know each other and how is wife is a mean vindictive woman. So Charles goes off to Iraq with the rangers. And Kimberly and Charles stay in contact via email. Then Charles is required to come back to the States and the relationship blooms although he is currently fighting through a divorce. They both start a BDSM relationship with Kimberly being his "Baby Girl" and Charles being her "Daddy" gets raunchy in the sex scenes. I'm hoping there is more to Kimberly and Charles story as I would love to find out what happens with them. I got slightly attached to their story.
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I didn't care for this book, it read very immature and was poorly written. I never got interested in the characters and nothing is resolved at the end. If all you care about is a little hot sex, it's okay for that.
I'll start by saying: I really wanted to like this book, and I don't downrate books lightly anywhere. That said, I had some serious, SERIOUS problems with this one.
Warning: Here there be some spoilers.
First and foremost, this book should be marked as having strong Christian/religious elements, and it isn't. Had I known this, I would not have bought the book. I don't read those horrible Love Inspired things because I don't care to be preached to while I'm reading romance. In erotica? Every time I read a reference where they were praying for each other, or talking about God's plan or whatever -- honestly, you might as well have thrown a bucket of ice water on me. It was THAT annoying. It almost felt like false marketing, which in all fairness is not the author's fault, but the publisher's. Also, it tainted the entire BDSM flavor with 'well, they're praying, so it's *Christian* BDSM! It's not naughty, it's okay!' Just...ugh.
With all due respect, the part that makes BDSM literature erotic for me is the sense of stretching boundaries, not that it's been duly sanitized and/or sanctified. No offense (and I know it sounds that way) the prayers and the multiple religious references just made everything feel creepy instead of decadent and fun.
Second, I bought this book because I hadn't read any Daddy dom erotica, and knew little about it, period. I was curious as to how it would be handled. However, to my disappointment, the Daddy dom element isn't even introduced until 3/4 of the way through the book, and when it is, it feels...forced. If the heroine was just going to do research, then why couldn't she have done that in the beginning of the book and not 3/4 of the way through? She wants to be a reporter. It would have been simple to give her an assignment from the outset or even engineer an interesting clash with the heroine's friend Sloane and Charmaine -- maybe they bumped into each other in a restaurant and Sloane related Charmaine's past, and Kimberly (the heroine) sees Charmaine interacting with her 'daddy' and becomes curious.
Basically, I would have been far more interested in seeing how the Daddy dom relationship evolved between the hero and heroine instead of generic relationship evolution with a dash of Daddy dom at the end.
Which brings me to point three: The entire nasty divorce bit was a total loss. The ex was a caricature and the heroine wasn't much better. It's as if the author was trying somehow to justify the fact that the hero was sleeping with the heroine before the divorce was final. Yet, IMO, that was utterly unnecessary. It's the 21st century. Nobody's a harlot for sleeping with a separated man and if you're separated and going for a divorce, you're entirely within your rights to date someone else. The entire divorce storyline added nothing to the story, and I actually got to where I skimmed over it, eyes glazed, because I simply did not care. It felt as if the author was hammering us over the head with the fact that the hero was married to this Wicked Witch of the West (which made me wonder where the hero's sanity was, as bad as she became) and there wasn't any reason for it. It didn't add to the romance; it was a detraction.
Last but not least, the format of the book is ragged. Half is epistolary (and does nothing for me, since that was a large part of the religious comments and references) and the second half was not. The long distance relationship allowed the two principles to get to know each other -- but that technique would have worked far better in a straight erotica or straight romance instead of a niche BDSM.
It's a shame, really, because so many of the elements, changed slightly, would have made for a far stronger book. Instead of having the ex-wife be there just as the foil for the so-saintly-I thought-she-shed-angel-feathers heroine, use her as a way to show the hero had once been in a relationship in which he specifically felt powerless and desirous of respect. For Kimberly to see him, then, as someone worthy of said respect and relationship power position would have been great. By the same token, showing Kimberly as entering into that particular type of D/s relationship not just to scratch a kink for herself but also because she realizes what it can do for her partner would make her a far more interesting character as well and give a much more nuanced dynamic to the relationship.
The good news is, the book is competently written from a technical aspect, and there was a lot of potential. It's just that in the end, I never got the feeling of a true power shift relationship forming, just a general romance and an 'oh, let's try this!' which felt forced and not integral to the story. Literally, it read as if the author had a general erotic romance in mind up until 3/4 of the way through, when she decided she'd better get that Daddy dom plot in there. I'm kind of left wondering why, because I've read samples of her other books, and that didn't seem to be worthy of her skill.
I hate to ding the book, I really do. But it just wasn't what I'd hoped to read from the description and the comments.
A friends to boss to lovers story…
Kimberly loves Charles. Charles is married, unhappily maybe but still hitched. Sounds simple enough but, as usual, there’s a lot more going on than what meets the eye. The two have known each other for years and, at least on Kimberly’s side, her feelings have grown from friendship to love over time. She’s never even hinted at that, of course, as Charles is married with a son. As their circumstances change so does their relationship…
“Somehow, she’d developed feelings for him. Feelings that were not appropriate to feel for a married man, or your boss.”
There’s a lot going on in this story as Kimberly and Charles have the opportunity to learn more about each other through emails. Kind of ironic considering they’ve worked side by side for years. Maybe that distance allows true feelings to be shared but each back and forth results in more secrets and feelings to be revealed.
As their love grows so does their comfort level as age play and other elements are incorporated into their relationship.
While I found the age play components to be a bit awkward, and the story ended rather abruptly with a HFN I wasn’t ready for, the story was well written with characters I enjoyed. And disliked. Charles’ soon to be ex? Wow… just… wow….
This is a prequel to the series and incorporates the characters that are to ‘follow’. It reads well as a standalone as well.
Emotional, Sexy Love Story
This story has everything a reader could want – a hero who makes you swoon, a heroine you can root for, and a wicked witch you want to throttle! This book tells how the Daddy’s Girl Club began, and we meet many of the characters we’ve grown to love in books 1-3. It was fun to see how they meet each other, and now I understand why Sloane has never been a fan of Charmaine.
But there’s more to this romance than just insanely sexy encounters. This book is an emotionally charged read about a man deployed to a war zone and what it’s like for the woman he loves. Charles is an incredible hero, a bad-ass Ranger with a sensitive side. (I died when he said he was working on his pain tolerance!) The tenderness and vulnerability he shows in his letters to Kimberly is heart-wrenching. Not only a much-anticipated installment of Alleman’s hot Daddy Dom series, but also a great military romance.
I enjoyed this book more than the others in the series. I thought the characters were more developed and we have more time to get to know them without the "daddy" part. It only come up in the second half of the book and I was glad because I thought it worked fine without it.
I didn't really enjoy the part of the plot concerning Charles's wife. She was ridiculous and she frustrated me. I just wanted her to shut up and sign the divorce papers. It was getting tiring to read about her. I wanted to get it over with so that Charles and Kimberly could move on with their life.
I thought they were sweet together with the emails when Charles was in Iraq and her waiting for him. However at the end, I thought the part where Charles .
Once again Alleman blows us away. She has the ability to suck us into her stories. We know for certain we'll cry, scream, kick, and definitely be turned on. Becoming Daddy's Girl is about longing and discovery. For Kimberly finding out her boss is leaving for Iraq leaves her devastated. She has longed to tell him of her true feelings but held back because of his personal situation.
When Charles almost dies after only being away for a short time he comes to realize that his heart has been with Kimberly all along. He craves to be the strong Daddy she wants. He knows that they can make if they can just survive an ocean away from each other.
Alleman has a unique writing style that focuses more on a story-line and feelings rather than the sex. The best part of this prequel is that we get a taste of other characters in the Daddy's series. I cannot wait to see what the next book will bring. As always, these can be read as standalone novels but you gather more from reading the series.
If I read all the reviews I am not sure I read the same book.
I had SO MANY problems with this book! Not with the topic itself but with the timeline and with he whole divorce.
The whole story seemed so unrealistic. I read the entire book even though I was more than tempted to quit after the first 30% of the book.
I have to say I was slightly disappointed with this book. I love the characters and the story being set up was great. But, what I've come to love about these books is the super sexy scenes. This book, I felt the beginning dragged on and it went so long without any "action". I mean, once it started, holy heck! It was a hot bang, but I just have come to expect more from this series, sooner. I love the idea of falling in love with your boss, and being there as they go through difficult times. It truly is a great romance. Again, I just wish it were sexier, sooner!
I love me some Normandie’s Daddy series!!! This series grabs you om the first page and doesnt let go till you hit the last one and thats when you know its over and then you have to deal with your book drunk. I love how you can either read them as a standalone or in the order they came out. I would say read them all in order. You get to know the characters better in the books and it makes me feel like I had a real connection with all of them. In this book there is Kimberly that you just want to eat up with a spoon, Charles that makes you want to submit to him also and then there is Vanessa that you just want to take a baseball bat to...or was that just me?
