This is my first book by this author. I have other books by her sitting on my kindle which I have not yet read and will now need to get on and read. A reading buddy recommended this story to me. This is a black/black couple.
This is Chance and Aiden's story. Chance is a married woman who is in the process of a separation and divorce from her cheating husband Ryan. In the middle of this process she meets Aiden a fine business man who is very attracted to her.
This story was a total emotional roller coaster for me and I was on team Aiden side. Although I like Chance and was sympathetic to her situation, the way she conducted herself when a real man who only cared about her and put himself at her feet, was totally shocking to me. This was a woman who did not realise she had hit the jackpot and continued to hurt and jeopardise this great relationship she could have, if only, she could walk away from her past.
This was page turner and it kept me up most of the night reading it. I would highly recommend this story.

Another good read from S.K. Hardy! I loved, loved, loved me some Aiden, but Chance worked my nerves. S.K. teased us with this one unmercifully, but it was well worth the wait!

Aunt S. K. Hardy, you've done it again. You've written another book that has me completely captivated by the characters. From the first time Aiden saw Chance in a jazz bar, he was mesmerized. Chance was at one of the lowest points in her life, estranged from her husband.
With that scenario, she has woven a tale of twist and turns, highs and lows that had me turning the pages; just wanting to know what was on the next page.
This was a really good romance.

Chance had it all, well at least she thought she did. When her marriage goes up in flames, she seeks to drown in her own misery but gets more than she bargains for. Aiden has swept into Chances life like a freight train and is set on taking what's his. But will these two get a first...or even second chance at making this work once old habits come into play?
I have had this book a long time and I'm glad I picked it up to give it a 'chance'. I throughly enjoyed Chance's self discovery despite the hardships she went through! She didn't even know something was wrong until it all came crashing down around her, and even in her own sorrow she was so gracious! Her ability to pick herself up after what she faced with Ryan and then even Aiden showed great character development. Chance and Aiden's chemistry was instant and combustible in fact. Aiden is just bae goals and I love that he experienced so many firsts with Chance and never gave up on her even when life had other plans. I thought this would be a fast romance (which I don't really like), but got thrown for a loop with a twist in the plot. The title is really played out in the storyline of this book and that made their love relatable and plausible too. The ending was quite satisfying and I'm sure this is a standalone, but I wish I had more of these too!

Love 💘 it!
S. K. I wanted to knock some sense in Chance with the way she strung poor Aiden. That man love her and she was busy allowing Ryan to manipulate her. I love this read. I am happy Aiden loved her enough to let her go so she can rediscover herself, Chance needed that time to reevaluate herself as a person. Thank you S. K.

My favorite book
This is one of S. K. Hardy's best books. I loved the characters and the love scenes. Also, the storyline was just great. This is just a really well written book. I wish Ms. Hardy would write more stand alone books like this. KK

A Grown Folks Story
Chance Michaels' husband leaves her for another woman, in quite an embarrassing fashion. Then Aiden Scott enters the picture and immediately throws his hat in the ring. I do mean immediately. The novel starts out hot and heavy and the author wastes no time with the erotica. The first chapter gets the room steamy and the next few chapters stay on that same vibe. So if super sensual is your thing, then this novel is for you. It's a grown folks story. Definitely not for virgin ears. And though I'm not that big of an erotica, I can appreciate how the author just jumped right into the story.
The problem for me, was that sex made up the bulk of the novel. Sure, it dealt with Chance's screwed up marriage. And yes, it delved into the tension between Aiden and Chance's ex-husband, Ryan. But for the most part, the novel was about the sexcapades of Chance and Aiden. If that's your cup of tea, cool. It just wasn't mine.
My main LIKE was the verbal foreplay between Chance and Aiden. There were a few lines in there I could probably use on my wife. My main DISLIKE was the way the author sometimes told instead of showed (e.g. a face that expressed shock instead of wide eyes, a raised brow and a dropped jaw). What I LOVED about the novel was the wise words from Aiden’s father about building a kingdom. About doing the work. I highlighted that statement and plan on reading it again from time to time as I strive to build my own kingdom as a businessman.
I give this novel 3.5 stars. Because while it had an extremely erotic nature, it did have some nuggets that I thoroughly enjoyed.

Second Chances introduces Aiden Scott and Chance Michaels, two people who meet at a jazz club and sparks are flying once their eyes meet. Chance is there to nurse a broken heart and face the fact her marriage is over, while Aiden is in town for a business venture. Aiden realizes Chance is a beautiful woman and wants to make her and the chance encounter is not the right time. The two embark on a relationship that is met with challenges and uncertainty. Aiden knows Chance is the one for him but when a tragic event occurs that changes the game, he questions whether it is worth his reservations to continue the relationship. Will true love win and give them a second chance, or will these two be destined to live life a part. Readers will need to download Second Chances to find out the outcome.
Again, Ms. Hardy is outstanding storyteller and gifted with character development. Readers will fall in love with Aiden and, at times want to hate him. He is man determined to go after what he wants and he wants a relationship with Chance. Now as for Chance, readers will really want to jump through the pages of the book and smack her silly for some of her actions. Readers will root for this couple and some of the secondary characters in the book are hilarious. Overall I really enjoyed Aiden and Chance’s story. Great job.

Since I am an avid reader, I find myself falling for some of my heros. I have now found a new one to add to the group, Aiden Scott. He is FINE, Alpha, with a heart of Gold. At times, I wanted to hug him, kiss him and kick his butt, but I fell for him as hard as Chance did. Chance was a young woman who had not slept around, but her husband did. He handed her a bill, his mouth couldn't pay and Aiden bought his marker.
Chance was taken with Aiden as soon as she looked at his lips and then his eyes. I'm not sure if I were him that I would not have walked away from the first night. However, this book speaks to this romantic for life in a powerful way. Chance makes some stupid mistakes and Aiden only knows a basic truth. The heart wants what the heart wants. Aiden shows Chance a side of herself she never knew existed.
Ms. Hardy, this is my first read by you, but it will NOT be the last. Thank you for sharing Aiden's story. Bray was a piece of work and I would like to hear his story because his anger was over the top in what was not his business...

A new instant classic!
Chance is every woman who bounce from relationship to relationship without ever getting to be comfortable and happy by herself. The advice Aiden gave her was PRICELESS! I understood her crazy emotional state; she's a caretaker by nature but is also caring. A manipulative person could easily play on her emotions to get what they wanted; Ryan was counting on that.
Chance needed a chance to find herself....to get to know the person outside of a relationship...to be happy alone before she could fully embrace Aiden. Aiden is all that and a bag of chips! He deserves an award for hanging in as long as he did and for loving Chance enough to walk away. I know that sounds crazy but it was necessary.
Go buy and enjoy another great book from SK!

Have your tissues ready, a can of whoop butt , a cold drink, prepare to have your emotion all over the place. SK gives her readers another rollercoaster ride with Chance and Aiden . This couple give instant attraction a whole new definition of touch sexiness, look of desire,and lust. I laughed, cried, rejoiced, talked to the characters and at times was very angry with Chance . Second Chances was a sensitive novel about falling in love but every turn there was a big boulder in the road knocking down the foundation of love causing a lack of trust and much anger.
But if two people are meant to be nothing can stop the love.

I'm struggling rating this one. It's more classic romanic than naughty romantic, surprisingly. But that's not why I'm on the fence. Simply put, I know this author is capable of sooo much more. More depth, intrigue, chemistry.... Sometimes I feel like SK books can be a hit or miss. The misses are still good, but the hits are what keep coming back like a crackhead.
This was a good one, but it took a long time for me to get to know the characters in a way that explained why they were so drawn to each other. But once that happened, I was hooked.
Will I SK again? Yes. Yes, I will.

Wow! SK did it again.
If you want to read about emotional roller coaster, this is it. I love how SK started this book off with the crazy relationship between Chance and Ryan, and then bring in a strong sensible man,Aiden to remind Chance not to forget about herself and allow the issue of her marriage dictates the rest of her life. This book also talks a lot about Karma. It's is one of the best book I have read. Two thumbs up.

Great Read
SK, u neva disappoint. This book was good from the first word to the end. I love me some Aiden. I wanted to reach through the book and slap Braylon, but I know he was just looking out for big brotha, but I would have loved to light that face up a couple of times for the way he talked to Chance. Aiden is a good man to do what he did for Ryan, although he was a jerk. Great read, loved it

Awesome Story
I love the story about Aiden and Chance, I can truly relate to their story because sometime you think what you have with another is really great until that person does something to crush you heart and then all of Sutton this new person shows up out of the blue and gives you everything you need that you didn't know you were missing. I definitely recommend this book.

Wonderful read
I was so pleased when SK dropped this book. She's one of my favorites & any time is too long to wait. SK did a great job with this book as always. Second Chances draws you in and keeps you intrigued throughout. I'm so glad that when chance found herself and realized what a great man Aiden is.

A Very Good and Sensual Romance
Second Chances is a very good and sensual romance novel that earned a rating of four stars. I enjoyed reading this book about a woman being pulled into dilemma by two men in her life and the struggle she went through to find herself. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading good sensual romance novels.

April 5, 2016S.K. Has done it again with Second Chances. I fell in love with Chance and Aiden. There story had me on the edge of my seat. I liked how Aiden was patient and eager to teach Chance not only sexually but life lessons as well. I enjoyed how Aiden gave Chance the opportunity to come into her own, to find herself. I am hoping/praying for a part 2..

Finally a complete story
As always S. K. Hardy did not disappoint. This was a good story. I enjoyed Aiden and Chance. I was glad she finally came to her senses regarding that selfish husband.
