Will & Patrick Meet the Family is part two of Wake Up Married romance serial.

The title kind of speaks for itself. Patrick visits the neurology unit in Healing Regional, starts to discover Healing, gets to know Will’s friends and acquaintances, and of course meets Will’s family.
Kimberly crosses her arms over her chest and glares at them both. “So this is Patrick, is it?” She looks Patrick up and down like he’s a murderer.
“Dr. McCloud to you,” Patrick says.
“Ignore that. He’s—” Will starts. “He’s just hungry.”

He also meets Will’s ex, Ryan.
“Jealousy is never a pretty thing, but it’s extra ugly on you,” Patrick says. His voice sounds dangerous, like truck wheels spinning in gravel. “Makes your face all—” He waves his hand in Ryan’s direction. “Be careful or it might get stuck that way.”

Ooh, and he meets Will’s AA sponsor, Owen, too.

In this part, the focus is more on Patrick, more details about him are revealed. He apparently had a rough childhood, and he behaves in an egotistical way. He’s also hilariously loudmouthed, caring, and sweet.

He can tell himself he kissed Will just to piss off Ryan or keep their cover for any lurking Molinaros. But the truth is, Will’s broken expression as they’d walked away from Ryan had tugged at the part of Patrick that wants to fix things; the part that makes Patrick a doctor. And Patrick did the only thing he could think of. He’d tried to kiss it better.

There is not much about Will –only about his addiction and diabetes. You also learn how unhealthy Will and Ryan’s relationship was. Ryan’s abusive nature is well-portrayed, such a despicable character.

More secondary characters appear, the romance develops slowly, and the sexual tension is… wow…

Loved it, moving to the next one.

Well, then.. This really didn’t add much to the story. Nothing happened and it was kind of boring. There hasn’t been any development in the plot, characterization or romance yet. I also feel like this has been missing emotional depth so far.
I’ll try to remain patient, but I have to admit that this was disappointing.

When it comes to the characters, I like Patrick’s snarky attitude, but he can veer into annoying territory quite quickly too. Luckily, it is easy to see he secretly has a heart of gold.
I’m still a bit ambivalent towards Will, especially since he doesn’t have much of a distinct personality yet and he is just so incredibly pathetic when it comes to his ex, Ryan.
Speaking of, Ryan is genuinely making me so mad. He is such an arsehole and I need Will and everyone else to see and acknowledge that. I am desperately awaiting his fall from Grace; I honestly can’t wait for that.

All in all, I just really have to wonder: when will we finally get to see some kind of love blossom between Will and Patrick? Because so far it’s been awfully quiet on that front.
And I mean, don’t get me wrong; I absolutely adore a good slow-burn, but it’s honestly starting to look like a no-burn at this point. A mere bit of lingering sexual tension doesn’t count as all that much to me, especially if there aren’t even feelings involved.

Still having a lot of fun with Will and Patrick.

Sometimes this is just the kind of book you need in your life.

You can see glimpses of things changing between Will and Patrick. And I am definitely looking forward to the romance developing.

In the meantime, I am enjoying Patrick's verbal diarrhea and Will's utter awkwardness!

I will say, I hope Ryan doesn't become a problem for me.

3.8 stars ⭐️ Omg, I love Patrick. I love his straightforwardness. He is always thinking about food. Yeah, he is my kind of a person.

In this installment, we can get to know about Will’s ex, Ryan and his mom, Kimberly. I don't like both of them. I loved how Patrick used his sharp tongue against Kimberly. She is whiny AF.

On the other hand, Ryan was such a b-stard. I don't like him at all. I'm so glad Will finally met someone who at least thinks about Will in these few days than Ryan in 6 years.

Will and Patrick are still testing the water. The sexual tension between these two is what I loved in here the most!

And Patrick’s nickname for Will - Puddin’-pop I looooooove it!!

Looking forward to reading how their relationship will turn into a romantic one!!

I enjoyed this much more than I did the last episode. This time around we meet Will's family and his ex-boyfriend.

I can't really say that I like Will's mom, Kimberly all that much. She hated Patrick on the spot and the feeling was mutual. He didn't hold back his sharp tongue and let her have it. And I enjoyed it. LOL
I am still unsure about the Uncle. I don't know if I like him or not. He's a bit of a mystery at the moment. I know he's as protective of Will as Will's mom is, but he doesn't come on as strong so he didn't really annoy me as bad as Will's mom did. I can't stand the woman.
I found myself loving Patrick even more in this episode. I find it hilarious that Patrick is most of the time worried about if he's going to be able to eat. The man can put some food away. But the way he also makes sure Will is eating too so his sugar levels stay good really makes me love the man more. Swoon! LOL
Then there is the ex, Ryan. Man this guy is such a douche. Just the way he speaks to Will gives you a clear understanding how unhealthy that relationship was. And what's sad is that Will still believes the crap that is being spewed out of this assholes mouth. Then what's worse is that Will is still holding a torch for this abusive bastard. If you can't tell from my nice words about Ryan I'll go and ahead and state that I hated this fucker.
It's kind of annoying only getting pieces of the story. It's like a tease. I hate being teased. But I'm hooked so I guess I'll continue to suffer.

Getting better and better.

I jumped right into Will & Patrick Meet the Family right after the first installment, and I read it straight through. I definitely think things are going in the right direction!

I think the chemistry and affection is really starting to ramp up, and I'm digging the banter whereas before I was a little unsure if Patrick was a dick or not (now I think he's a dick, but sort of a good dick!).

And the sexual tension! Whew! I like that these authors are keeping me on my toes and letting the chemistry simmer and grow stronger. I can't wait to jump right into the third installment.

This was much better! Patrick is still a dick, and we get a glimpse at how much of a doormat Will is with his family and with Ryan, but we also see our two MCs start to care about each other, open up and get closer. And we get a little UST, but not enough.

Two things:
- I need them to have sex already. First time didn’t count. Come on, give me a treat. 🤪
- How did Will ever end up with asshole Ryan? I want to punch that guy.

This is the one with least action and you will need patience, but oh so good!
At least as good as #1. Absolutely brilliant UST.

Patrick is a lot nicer than he lets on. But he's simply unable to deal with feelings of any kind. He's got ONE pair of friends (and I do wonder how he has managed that many!) The man definitely has got emotional issues.(More about that in episode 4!) But he really likes Will. So much. And he won't admit it to himself.
Will reciprocates the feeling, even if he tries doggedly to convince himself he's still in love with Ryan. I have no idea why.
I think I really truly hate Ryan. I have no idea why he is humiliating Will every time they meet. He is such a condescending b******! What is his deal? Apart from being a horrible prick?
This is turning into the most wonderful series. Love the humour and the feels, and I adore Will and Patrick - they are amazing characters!
On to #3! :D

I really enjoyed this second installment, finding out more about Will and Patrick has been great! And I can feel them developping into one of my favorite m/m couples more and more. They are really special, not like most of the characters you encouter in m/m literature. They aren't easy, they are sometimes difficult to understand, you want them to act different from what they do most of the time, but you still fall in love with them!

Apart from the characters, the storyline is equally special and interesting!. I can't wait to find out more about Patrick's past and his secrets and I am looking forward to meet Will's family. I guess this series will keep getting better and better!

Highly recommended!

As Will & Patrick wait impatiently to have their marriage dissolved, they find it hard to keep feelings from forming as they try to keep up appearances. Bit by bit, things are revealed and you can see their resistance slowly being worn away.

A nice little seque as they get settled, as familiarity breeds like, and the UST continues to build. These guys need to get their heads out of their asses pronto!

Full review originally posted at Sinfully... Addicted to All Male Romance.

This episode picks up right where the first left off (you definitely can’t read these as standalones); time to meet Will’s mom! Remember how I mentioned in my review of Episode #1 how much I liked Patrick and his snark? I now love Patrick, his snark and the fierce protectiveness he is feeling towards Will.

The meeting with Will’s mother Kimberly, and his Uncle Kevin goes about as well as anything has gone for these two so far. Will’s mother, who will never be confused for Snow White, doesn’t contain her disdain of Patrick and her suspicion of his tricking Will into marriage so he can get his hands on some money, which is fine since Patrick isn’t going to play nice with her either. I get the protective mother instinct, but Kimberly is a piece of work. Although we don’t meet Will’s father Tony in person, he is getting more aggressive in making his presence known.

There are also some more run-ins with Will’s ex, Ryan. Ryan is a heinous person. He seemingly has charmed most of the town, including Will’s mother, but he is quite abusive towards Will. Even his new man Hartley sees it and has compassion for Will. There is a flash of realization in Will that Patrick has been better to him in this short time than Ryan has in years, but it really hasn’t sunk in yet and he is still amazingly trying to figure out how to get Ryan back. I am looking forward to the moment when Will realizes how blind he has been to how horrible Ryan is.

We learn a little more about both Patrick and Will’s childhoods and we get a real feel for how hard Will struggles with his addiction. Patrick has overcome a lot to get where he is and we all know how much he cares under that brash exterior. I fell so much harder in love with Patrick for the way he takes care of Will in this episode from worrying about his health to giving him pep talks about his struggle to stay sober.

As the men go about keeping up appearances and Patrick starts working at Healing’s new neurology unit, they settle into a bit of a routine. Patrick’s whole life has been upended and rearranged, but he doesn’t seem to mind too much, especially once he is back working, and his appreciation of Will keeps growing. As much as Will is trying to fight his attraction towards Patrick to focus on ending the marriage while keeping his foundation money and of course, getting Ryan back, it’s not as easy as he’d hoped. Although there haven’t been more than a few kisses, the sexual tension is ratcheting up. I don’t think Will is going to be able to resist Patrick’s appeal much longer… at least I hope not!

This second episode continues with the humor, snark and tension of the first, but also brought out the emotion as the two men start to really get to know each other. I like the way their relationship is growing as they each learn the others’ habits and quirks. I’m enjoying how Patrick is unwittingly entrenching himself in the town of Healing even as he keeps talking about looking forward to the time when the marriage is ended. Bring on the Holidays! What could possibly go wrong?

This series is really fun! We are learning more about Patrick and he is a great character, I really don't appreciate how people treat him (not Will but others) because it is unwarranted! Shit list: Ryan (he needs to get checked even more, what a moron!), Will's mother who is a meddling hypocrite and Will's uncle! Will is growing on me but he does not deserve Patrick yet. We need to know what really went down between Will and Ryan, hopefully in the next installment. Onto the next :)

Great second episode in the Will & Patrick saga! Some scattered thoughts -- In Will & Patrick Wake Up Married, Will was the focus; in this episode, Patrick is in the spotlight and I gotta say he is heroically well-adjusted given his childhood issues. Getting to know Patrick is a delicious slow burn.

We finally meet Ryan and yes .... he is a straight-up prick and should be cranially adjusted with a shovel. I love how everyone in town says the word doctor like it's a profanity and Patrick continually feels the need to stress that he's a NEUROSURGEON, damn it, he makes a lot of money, and no, he's not after Will for his money. Great series and I can't wait to read them all.

Yes, this series is growing on me! I enjoyed this more than book 1. I particularly enjoyed watching Patrick as the layers are slowly, slowly peeled off and we learn he's not quite the asshole he likes to pretend to be. I love his protectiveness of Will and how he's always watching out for him in every way. On the other hand, we see a little more of Will's ex (Ryan) here and he is a complete jerk. In an almost OTT way.

I'm also getting more used to the present tense, and it didn't bother me the way it did in book 1.

The second episode of this serial is just as delightful as the first. The authors have created a really fun world for Will and Patrick -- I love the town of Healing and its residents. Poor Patrick has gone through the looking glass! Will's family is quite a handful, to say the least.

The UST between Will and Patrick continues to build, and I can't wait for it to boil over into sexcapades and reluctant feels. (Full disclosure: I edited this story. But I genuinely love it!)

Ahhh, this is just so gooooooood!!! I never doubted my memory - I knew it was good. But revisiting these guys again is just so scrumptious! :D These guys are fighting their feelings every step of the way and I am just bouncing in my seat with eager giddiness because I know what is coming. This is a must read series and I highly recommend. Especially since Leta Blake has recently released a new book in the series. Fun, fun, fun!

This series is definitely picking up. In 2nd book, Patrick have to meet Will's dysfunctional family and try to settle down in the Podunk town. Patrick is as infuriating as ever and I love him. Will one the other hand is such a poor thing, in fact he is a total doormat. Whenever his beloved ex, Ryan showed up on page, I just turned murderous. If this is really a mafia story, I would want someone to just settle him. What the fuck is wrong with the guy? I can't imagine Will spent so many years with that jerk of the century. In fact, jerk is a too tame a word to describe that son of a bitch.

Anyway, despite all my hatred for the ex, he is absolutely a great fodder for this series. I just can't wait for Will to realize that Patrick is much more awesome that his ex. As for Will and Patrick's relationship progression, things are moving slow. But they are getting to know each other better and some sexual tension is definitely present.

I will review the entire series because it must be taken as a whole. I loved the main characters. They were snarly and prickly and sweet fun. How could you not like a story that has these lines in it:

Luckily, Patrick isn't impressed by pretty women. Being gay is sometimes a tactical advantage.

and

Meeting the in-laws is something Patrick never thought he'd have to do. He'd rather eat yak brains or visit Russia in winter or set himself on fire. Okay maybe not set himself on fire. But he'd be down with Russian winters or yak brains for sure if it got him out of this.

The supporting cast is just as interesting and aggravating. I loved them. My only regret is that I started this series before the last one was published.

Bea65 - per RFS
.

Congratulazioni, mio carissimo Guglielmo.
Fanne buon uso.
Tuo padre, Tony Molinaro.

Buona lettura.

RECENSIONE QUI: https://thereadingslove.blogspot.com/...

Things are definitely starting to pick up.

Patrick and Will are starting to bond and get to know each other. And my lovely, snarky, and gruff Patrick is letting is ooey gooey and vulnerable side start to show.

Will is still taking some time to warm up to....mainly because I have ZERO idea what the hell he sees in his ex, Ryan. The guy's a grade A asshole.

The sexual tension is also starting to amp up, and I can't wait to see how much longer these two are going to keep fighting the attraction. Especially when you add in how easily their relationship is naturally progressing.

The Mob aspect is still 100% hokey so far, but I'm willing to ride the wave just hear Patrick's Godfather take on it LOL

Off to see where the next installment takes me....

This is the second installment in a serial that needs to be read in order.

Will and Patrick have been back to Will's hometown of Healing, South Dakota for a couple days, and Will has more 'splainin' to do. He's enlisted the help of his grandmother, Eleanora, to help get them out of this marriage, and had his first confrontation with his new ex, Ryan, and neither was pretty--but now he needs to introduce Patrick to his mother. Oy vay!

Nobody in town likes Patrick, and that's not just because his quicky marriage to a very wealthy, and emotionally vulnerable, Will is highly suspicious. No, Patrick is also a jackass. He has zero social graces and is often deliberately obnoxious and obtuse. I really am struggling to like him, at this point. I get that he's a great doctor, but I do not have to like him--at all--because of it.There are some hints at why Patrick is such a prickly character, but they haven't (yet) excused his callousness.

Patrick relishes this bubble of insufferability he creates around himself. His only redeeming quality, for me, is that he's good to Will, in a way. Will has a lot of insecurity, and a deeply ingrained sense of worthlessness and failure. It's been fostered by many different characters slighting him over the years, and Patrick doesn't accept any of that BS. He finds Will attractive, and says so. He builds him up, and that's really great considering what a shit Ryan is. I think if they were standing in front of me, I'd punch Ryan in the junk and slap Patrick, twice. (Ryan is a horror of a man, to me, and I'm well glad that Will is rid of him. Patrick is a whole lotta "tough love" sans the "love" bit, and I can *almost* see that he's going to be a great partner to Will...eventually.)

Will is warming up to his partnership with Patrick, and feeling more attracted than overwhelmed. He's still soft on Ryan, which is a shame really because that dude is as emotionally abusive as they come. Though I'm starting to see Will turn the page on his love for Ryan and I HOPE HOPE HOPE that there's some romance coming for him and Patrick. SOON! Right now we have a developing sexual tension and it's getting serious, but there are no sexytimes. Memories of past sexytimes. Innuendo and a couple kisses, too, but that's not enough to balance out the snarky banter, for me. I want to see Will and Patrick fall in love. God! I hope that isn't the title of the last installment in this series.

Expect a douchey ex, a malevolent mafia tail, a lot of people hating Patrick and Will getting his heart stomped on. Oh, and meals. Lots and lots of eating. Mangia!

This book was such a awesome addition to this series! This is not a stand alone so you need to read the first book in the series before you read this one.
So in this book Patrick gets to meet Will's family and let me say Will's mom gives a new meaning to mother-in-law from hell. Patrick is his usually snarky self with everyone which I loved! There is just something about his character that draws me in and has me laughing so hard at the things he says. Then there was poor Will I just want him to honestly get over Ryan and realize what a jerk he is.
The sexual tension between these two was off the charts in this book. So many times I just wanted to yell through the book and tell them to just get it on already because you know they are going to be so hot together when they do. I really do not want to say much more because this book you have really got to read for yourself because it was just so good! I will say these two authors have drawn me into this story of Patrick and Will so much that I am on the edge of my seat waiting for the next book in this series to see more of these two characters together and what will happen next.

All together I really loved this book!
I would definitely recommend this book!
I received this book free in exchange for an honest review from Inked Rainbow Reads.
