USA Today bestselling author of Contemporary and Historical Romances. I'm a proud Texan living it up in Alaska's beauty who loves to write both sweet and spicy romances.

My heroes and heroines can be found in this time or another, modern or historic, professionals or not. All include a little naughtiness, sternness, seriousness, a taste of suspense and a HEA.

I have always loved writing about sassy ladies and have done it for fun but never thought I could do it for other's enjoyment. It's my dream job and I hope I never come back to the real world.

Jocelyn is on her way to college. She is Native American from North Dakota. When she gets there, she meets her roommate, Kelli and her older brother Liam. Liam makes a good display of outraged male that she drove all that way by herself. They connect and end up making love before Liam leaves for home. They talk frequently in the beginning, but after a few months, he hardly called. At the end of the semester, Jocelyn decided to go home for the five weeks. Liam called and said he would fly out and drive back with them. Jocelyn is outraged and leaves when Kelli goes to pick up Liam from the airport. She drives home, ignoring the many calls and texts from Liam and Kelli. Once home, she talks with Liam and he tells her she needs a spanking. The day before Jocelyn is ready to leave for school, her mother makes excuses to keep her there. She finds out the reason when Liam knocks on the door. He takes her to a private cabin and spanks her. She does not give permission, but he does so anyways. Eventually, they do get together and have a HEA.

I liked the story. But, I do think that Liam was high handed. He spanks her without getting her agreement. I'm not fond of the dubious consent in present day stories. I give this 4 stars.

Audiobook - narration, Marie Smith - good.
This is a short story, which always leaves me wanting more. Due to the length of the book, you get less character and relationship development so the result is insta-love, insta-lust, insta-interest, which is kind of normal, but there's no time to put the brakes on, be coy, slow things the heck down.

Liam is outraged when he learns that Jocelyn drove all the way to school from North Dakota by herself and rather high-handedly decides that she will be added to the women he protects. She's independent and that goes over like a rock. They have sex, decide to try the long distance thing, communication slows, she takes off on her own again, he gets all alpha protector etc. there's some unsolicited spanking and making up. It was ok. Like I said, this could easily have been made longer and further developed, but is ok for a quick read!

SIZZLING WITH EXPECTATION
I enjoyed this start to a new series that will focus of Jocelyn Charles and Liam O’Connor. Liam comes from a strong Irish family and as an alpha male has a strong dominate belief. Jocelyn is strong-willed and has a way of normally getting her own way, even if it could be considered reckless or dangerous. The physical and emotional chemistry between these two sizzles, even when she is in trouble with him. The plot kept me captivated and the pages turning as this new budding relationship goes through many emotions and ups and downs. The dialog is entertaining and heartwarming, especially with all the Gaelic endearments that Liam uses for her. One thing about it, Liam is a man of his word and he proves it to a stubborn Jocelyn. I look forward to reading book two of these series.

She has a plan

This was a nice first back story of the story of Liam and Jocelyn. I thought they might have had sex a bit early but really, I guess that is normal for college. She is goal driven, he is too but thinks he can have it all, I think she is hopeful but there is that dominant and spanking issue she is so not into. they did figure it out though. Love Jocelyn spirit and he loves her.

Book 1 in The O'Connors series

A sweet introduction to the series with Jocelyn as a student from North Dakota and her roommate Kelli O'Connor. Kelli's brother Liam O'Connor takes an immediate strong interest in Jocelyn -- and adds her to the women he protects.

The sexual tension is intense and fun in this bratty tale. A real page turner.

I liked this quickie read. It was short but had just enough to keep me reading. Of course as with other quickies I would love to know more about each character and their back stories. I would of loved there to be more to the story. It was sweet and hot. I give it a 3.5 overall and think others looking for a quick and easy read would enjoy this book too.

This was a sweet introduction to the series. It's sort of short so not a lot of story, but definitely enough to make me want to read more.

a short with more coming

My introduction to Alyssa Bailey's work and the world she built around a newly arrived mixed race (native American, & French Canadian) young woman, Jocelyn and an older brother, Liam, of her new college roommate. There seemed to be attraction on both sides upon first meeting, but there were some caution on both side. They were still thrown together often. Liam was a clear dominate in his stance in many things. This was way too short to get a good feel for the two character separately. The story was very short and a very much a prequel to what you would get in the follow-up books.

Marie Smith was a nice distraction. Male/female were easy to distinguish but could still have been better.
