serial..werewolf pack chases Russian mobster. one of the shifters finds his mate, a homicide detective. part 1. short.

This is one of my favorite authors, and probably one of the very few I would read a story that is continued in a later book. This was an edgy story that I enjoyed reading. The characters had strong personalities and I couldn't wait to see them connect and interact with each other. The story is well written and edited which is a delight to reading. I was given an ARC which is awesome, I don't personally know the author except through reading previous works and reviewing on Amazon. I would recommend reading this story and her previous books of Werewolves in New York. JIR

I won't support an author who bullies others. Unfortunately I liked this book and this author until I saw what she decided to do to other authors. I will not encourage bullying ever. And I will make aware to other readers of what is happening.

The story focuses on; Kara Monaghan, a sexy, audacious, fiery tempered, beautiful Detective; Curragh, a sultry, stop your heart gorgeous, powerful, werewolf vigilante; Xavier and Draik, two potent, sexy werewolves, Curragh's pack mates, also vigilantes.
What you'll find in this story; a cast of awesome impressive and engaging characters, spectacular story-line, powerful vivid scene descriptions, fabulous banter, gut-wrenching moments, pent up rage, gripping suspense, life threatening incidents, emotions skyrocket, camaraderie, heroic deeds, horrific crimes, jaw-dropping earth-shattering pulsating romance leaving you awe-struck, and a conclusion that finds you yearning for the answers you desire.
Detective Monaghan and Curragh have the same goal, end the reign of Viktor Kruglov, Chicago/Russian Mafia leader from committing horrific crimes. Their sizzling romance starts in a bar and continues to flourish but they realize it needs to end, because she's a cop and he's a vigilante without a badge. Curragh's wolf is out of control when it comes to Kara; the man doesn't get it, but the wolf does!
INCREDIBLE-fast paced well written read by a truly gifted author. The characters are convincing and certainly praise-worthy and come alive with breathtaking scene descriptions. The romance is passionate and steamy and the suspense exhilarating. I relished this story a true page-turner. I eagerly await the next book in this series. If you treasure shifter romance with danger this is an excellent book for your library. {I was given a copy of this book for a completely honest review}. In the word of shifter romance the possibilities are endless and always fascinating. Without reservations I highly recommend this book and the series.

What’s a cop to do when the bad guy is a good guy?
Kara is a strong women who created her own strength after coming out of the darkness of her past - but at what cost? Can she trust and let someone else in?
Curragh is more than a man, with the strength to do what needs to be done to keep innocents safe. To keep his pack and their secret safe he has never let anyone close, that changed forever when his eyes locked on Kara’s that night at the bar.
They have more in common than they realize and they are stronger together.
They will need all their wits and strength to find Viktor and bring him down, which proves harder to do and more complicated than anyone anticipated.
With the help of his pack mates they are hot on the trail but must negotiate many twists and turns.
This book kept me engrossed and immersed in their world. At one point it seemed to be turning dark but Ms. Hopkins did not disappoint and twisted it at just the right moment that I actually breathed a sigh of relief!
I cannot recommend this book enough. If you have never read anything by Ms. Hopkins after reading this you will want to get all her books!

I was provided with a complimentary copy of this book so I could give an honest review. I read all of the Werewolves of New York series and loved it. I wads afraid it might be more of the same. I should never have doubted Faleena' s talent as a writer. This first part of the Werewolves of Chicago was AMAZING. The storyline is full of intrigue and I do love how these wolves still have so much of their wildness in tact. I wish the second part was ready so I could dig I not it and find out how Kara and Carrugh are going to work this out all while dealing with the Russian Mafia. Please don't keep me waiting too long Faleena. Absolutely excellent job and a fantastic read. Would recommend to anyone who enjoys paranormal reads.

The job in question is to bring down the evil leader of the Russian mob...enter detective Kara. She's sexy, sultry, feisty, smart and putting a divorce behind her from a cheating ex, starting afresh in a new city with not so amicable colleagues...and also looking to stop the Russian. This is part one where Curragh and Kara come together...quite literally. Spicy sex scenes, good storyline and potential great characters but too short to truly determine.

I received a copy for an honest review. I loved this book. Characters were fleshed out, the story moved fast but keeps you hooked to find out "what next?", the romance was hot, hot, HOT, and the cop got her man. (not really a spoiler) I like it much better as a whole novel rather than three short novellas. So far, I have enjoyed everything I have read by Faleena Hopkins. She's a good writer with a great imagination and is skilled at taking her reader into the world she imagines. Love it! My idea of escapism.

This book deserved a 5 star rating because it keeps you on the edge of your seat the whole time you are reading it.I can't wait to read part 2.Kara is a cop they doesn't take crap from anyone,she is working very hard to find a Russian mobster,he is selling girls to the highest bidder.

Love it!
This book is a bit different than the New York series, but the same flow all the same. If you like the TV series 'Beauty and the Beast' you're going to fall in love with this book. Curragh is trying his best to avoid Kara, but she keeps showing up where he is. Their passion is steamy hot, but that's not enough. I cannot wait for part two. What a cliffhanger :)

Exciting! I picked it up and never put it down until I hit the end. Very fast paced with interesting characters combine with a plot that's intriguing and has many roads it can follow, making me happy that I already have the next book. I don't think you'll be disappointed. Steamy, fast, and very good!

AWESOME BOOK. !!!!!!!!!!!
I loved this book. Can't Wait till next part comes out. Exciting,sexy. I wished I could have finished sooner but my health wouldn't let me. But faleena did not dissapoint me. I have read every book she has written and as always great reads.

Fantastic read. Very enjoyable. Read all the Werewolves of New York and was glad when this came out and continued the story on. Good versus evil with a twist. Superheroes with anger issues, got to love it.

I loved this suspense filled action packed shifter paranormal book. Curragh was a great Alpha character and Kara was a good choice for him. I can't wait to read all of this series and see what transpires with them and the other characters.
