Hello dear reader, I’m Ruby and I’m so excited to share my stories with you. I’ve been writing stories since forever. My first was about a magical talking cat who had these crazy adventures. My stories don’t have talking cats anymore, but I still love an adventure.
When I was in college, I courted this amazing girl in college by dragging her on these crazy hikes through the woods on the edge of campus. Climbing over logs was really just an excuse to have to hold her hand and help her over obstacles. More than ten years later we recently celebrated our fifth wedding anniversary and the crazy adventures have just kept getting bigger and better.
We live in a little white house surrounded by trees, filled with cats, wool, and loose leaf tea. My passions in life are my wife, my knitting, and my writing. I daydream about having a little hobby farm with a few sheep and a huge vegetable garden.
I’m really excited to be working with Rose + Star Press, and I’m grateful to them for giving me the gentle nudge that it took to get me to start sharing my work. I hope that you enjoy reading my stories as much as I enjoy writing them.
Well, don't skim any part of this book as you'll find yourself at the end pretty quickly. This is nice and I like nice lately. Story of a girl, clumsy, can't seem to hook her mouth up to her brain and score a date. Then, like the synopsis states she runs into another girl and luckily enough, there are sparks of attraction. The book is cute, filled with self-deprecating humor and happiness.
My second story by this author. Read entirely because it is super short and on Kindle Unlimited. Plus the first I read wasn't bad so . . ..
Synopsis: Astrid Jones (crazy blonde hair; skin the color of the underside of an orca, the kind of consumptive Victorian aesthetic look; in 'decent shape'; office admin) runs into the same woman a few times and thinks her unlucky life might be improving in the luck department. That other woman is named Molly Perkins (blue-haired, and blue-eyed; 5 foot 2 inches. cute pink sundress; yoga instructor).
Okay okay - Astrid is racing to get to her friend, Jon, so he can cry on her over the latest boyfriend to dump him. Not paying attention, she crashed into Molly. And then immediately continued on her way (well after aplogizing profusely and handing over a gift card, but before she could get a name, even as the woman appeared on the cusp of asking her out . . . it seemed to my eyes).
It's clear that this story was written by the same person who wrote the other story I read with this author by-line. I mention that so I can then say - this story seems to be about a 100 times more competently written. The dialogue doesn't seem stiff and flat, and is acutally quite funny. And yes, I did laugh while reading this here story.
Sweet, adorable F/F short story that begins when Astrid -literally- runs into a gorgeous blue-haired woman. She apologizes, hands over a gift card to make up for spilling the woman's coffee, and goes on with her day. But on a hike with a friend, Astrid sees the woman again... is it a sign? I really enjoyed the humor and misadventures here, as well as the zingy feeling between the characters. They just like each other so much, it's so cute, aahhh! Well worth the read.
What a fantastically fun and witty short read that despite only taking 15 minutes or so to read, made me chuckle, smile and have a lingering warm feeling that stayed with me for far longer than it took to read.
Who ever said being clumsy doesn't sometimes being a smile on someone's face.
Astrid is clumsy. Three of her dates wind up visiting the ER. Her running into Molly seems to be another case of being clumsy again. Oops sorry! But Molly has her own agenda toward Astrid. Enjoy!
It was a cute short story that was actually pretty funny. Dates ending in an emergency room is funnier than it sounds. The characters were adorable as they stumbled into finding love. I'd read the author again but hopefully with a longer story next time.
Giving the main characters a bit of colorful identities was awesome. Molly with her blue hair and Astrid the clumsy personality was very refreshing. This short story was filled with humor from both main characters that made this book highly enjoyable.?
Even though it was a short story it was still a good read. I like how they actually ran into each other and ended iip meeting again started dating after that.
Nice story built on with chances to meet the one. Beautiful characters but without too much information concerning all their feelings. Felt short story.
A nice short and sweet f/f romance with witty dialogue. A lovely palate cleanser between heavier or more complex/longer novels. First story I've read by the author but I look forward to another.
