Avec ce tome, Largo Winch se lance dans une course contre la montre non pas pour aider son groupe, mais pour aider son ami Simon accusé à tort de meurtre et condamné à mort au Myanmar.
Largo va devoir faire preuve d'originalité pour démêler la situation soumise à des méandres géopolitiques.

Simon gaat op vakantie naar Myanmar (Birma)... lijkt me toch om problemen vragen, denk ik... Na wat opzoekwerk op het wereldwijde web blijkt het land toch heel wat toeristen van over de ganse wereld te ontvangen, ondanks de politieke problemen die het land teistert. Deze problemen vormen in combinatie met de prachtige natuur en cultuur, en flink wat fantasie van Jean Van Hamme, de basis voor een nieuw avonturenverhaal van de miljardair in spijkerbroek. Het tekenwerk van Francq is opnieuw perfectie.
Het herlezen van deze reeks blijft leuk. Largo Winch was als andere topreeksen van Van Hamme (Thorgal, XIII) een instant-klassieker die tot op de dag van vandaag populair blijft.

First album of the new story arc -
A new trouble ensues from Burma, where Simon and Marjan go for a trip. The local head of the defence and the US ambassador, make a cunning plan to trap Simon into murder case and manage to get him a trial that passes the judgement to hang him till death.
Betting on Largo's wit that he will do anything to save his friend, they wait for their plan to go into action. Meanwhile, Largo, failing to convince any of US's political heads to get involved, does exactly that. He jumps in.
A very engaging plot. We see more of Simon and his actions and less of Largo.
