One of the best books I've read about naturally helping the aging process and even reversing it. Not only does the author address cosmetic signs and causes of aging, but she goes in deep to help you rejuvenate your system from the inside out. It's like an in-depth and detailed primer to renew your body through everything natural (as in, as nature put it out there. It doesn't ask you for expensive and/or complex products supposedly from natural origins. No, this is all about basic stuff you can find in your pantry, a pharmacy, or in a health shop, if not the grocery store directly). I really liked the easy and flowing language, plus Ms. Dillon explains the hows and whys behind each concept she puts forward, provides good and thorough explanations for every treatment or ingredient she suggests. I was especially surprised, pleasantly so, to find she also addresses natural hormonal replacement/supplementation. As a breast cancer survivor who dealt with hormone-sensitive cancer, I am wary of and have to be careful about 'other' estrogen that can come into my body. However, Ms. Dillon provides information about natural methods to supplement estrogen, through estrogenic herbs and other such ingredients, and stating that naturally-occurring estrogen (not chemically removed from or chemically altered or processed out of) is actually beneficial for the body at any time and does not feed hormone-sensitive cancers! And this was me jumping with joy because I found a way to alleviate the strenuous side effects of my estrogen-inhibitor therapy! This will also be a boon to women going through menopause and wanting natural and safe ways to help their hormonal balance.
I have set this book aside to go through a second time. There is such a wealth of information in there (unfortunately it is sprinkled through. She can be talking of something and then in the prose, inserts a sentence that such and such herb is highly estrogenic) and it pays to go through a second time, even more, maybe armed with a pen and notepad and compile your own little bullet list or category list as you're going through.
