Samara has been given a full scholarship to Lupi Lucania Universitas Scholarium in Italy. It's a dream come true. The university is one of the best in the world, and she intends to make the most of it. What she doesn't count on is two very distracting brothers who have a different idea of advancing her education than she does.
Usually she-wolves come to the University with full knowledge of Lupine history and traditions. James and Jason will have to teach their little mate everything. Born to a human who refused to take her wolf mate permanently into her life, Samara is nothing like what the duo envisioned...and more than they ever hoped for.
Brenna Lyons wears many hats, sometimes all on the same day: former president of EPIC, author of more than 95 published works, Administrator for Silver Publishing, columnist, special needs teacher, wife, mother...and member in good standing of more than 60 writing advocacy groups. She's also taken Spinetingler's Book of the Year for 2007. Brenna writes milieu-heavy dark fiction, mainly science fiction, fantasy and horror, straight genre, romance and erotic crosses, poetry, articles and essays. She teaches everything from marketing to choosing an indie publisher, and she's been called "one of the most deviant erotic minds in publishing today" by Fallen Angels. You know, I am really, really, confused here. I have an incredible hard time to think that this book could have been written by a well known, successful author, invited in numerous conferences to share her expertise all over the places.
For me, this book represents pretty much everything a menage author must NOT do. The plot was all over the place and not developed, the characters were not credible, the romance was replaced by sex scenes, credibility was non existent, the epilogue ending with her two fathers not even on a romantic note? Even the book cover is average.
The only positive note I can say is that the synopsis was intriguing and the writing was easy.
I generally do not review the menage romances I do not like. But this time, I wanted to express my opinion, as a reader who spent 3.99$, as a menage romance reader who read this sub-genre exclusively for over a decade now. It does not mean Mrs Brenna Lyons is not talented. I am sure she is. She would not have published so many books and have this massive fan base if she was not. So I am not sure what to think here. Maybe she had a bad day when she wrote this?
Writing a menage romance is not easy to master. Writing a menage romance is a challenge where the author demonstrates the capacity to make us believe a love story with multiple lovable characters up front and center using a credible plot to reinforce the story and leave us with just one word at the last page… WOW.
Werewolf U is the start of what promises to be an amazing series by author Brenna Lyons. Samara is a fiercely independent young lady. She has been given a full scholarship to and Italian university called Werewolf U. She really is clueless, about werewolves and her own heritage. No one has told her anything. Her mother is not the best woman in the world either. But despite that, she manages to be strong, kind, and very passionate. I loved her from the start. I liked the air of innocence she has about her too. James and Jason. Well I like to refer to them as the trouble twins. Jason is the brother getting them into trouble and James is the one trying to get them out of the mess Jason got them in. They know Samara is their mate, but they have no idea how to tell her her heritage and what it all means. I liked they are young but still alpha. I can see them being really strong leaders later in life. They sure are well on their way right now. Over all this is a fun, intense, and passionate read. I really enjoyed this introduction to Werewolf U and I hope to read many more in the future.
Imaginative, entertaining, fast-paced and seriously steamy! I’d love this to be a longer story, simply so Brenna can show us more about the characters and their fictional world. I was impressed by the clear writing in the love-making scenes, as three-way action can be tricky to describe.
