As the editor of this wonderful read, I can't brag and give it 5 stars, but it is that good.
Emma Conner has been in love with Gabe Stone for so long she cannot imagine being in love with anyone else, but since she’s grown up he seems to do whatever he can to steer clear of her - until recently, that is. Ever since a crazy man kidnapped and nearly killed her friend, Becca, Gabe has been hanging around and when he seduces her, Emma is done for completely. Her heart completely belongs to Gabe but she refuses to allow him control until she discovers she’s pregnant. Gabe takes control all right, he insists on marrying her and won’t take no for answer.
Gabe Stone never thought about settling down but ever since he held little Emma Conner in his arms after she was nearly brutalized by a mad man, he can’t seem to get her out of his head. She is not the kind of woman he could just have casual sex with, but he desires her more than he could ever imagine. When she succumbs to his advances, he finds himself nearly obsessed with her but when she learns she’s pregnant, he knows he can never let her or the baby go. When someone threatens her life, he discovers he would never allow anyone or anything hurt the woman who has claimed his heart.
GABE by Susan Fisher-Davis is a wonderful story about discovering your perfect match is right under your nose where you just hadn’t thought to look before. Gabe is a rough and tumble kind of guy but Emma brings out the caring, tender, and very reliable side no one else really thought was there. Susan has created a family and town of people who endear themselves to your heart quickly and honestly. Clifton, Montana is an imaginary place but one you’ll wish exists for its homespun, welcoming feel and the Stone brothers, well, they're the men you wish truly existed.
I admit as the editor of this story, I watched Gabe and Emma come to life but sincerely, this is a story which will keep you turning the pages, and cheering this at first unlikely couple on to their happily ever after. We get to revisit the characters we met in JAKE and are introduced to a few new ones. We’re treated to steamy love scenes between Gabe and Emma, which will make you smile as Gabe introduces the innocent Emma to things she’d only dreamed about doing. And of course, there’s the incorrigible Olivia Roberts who as a friend and defender, keeps Emma on her toes, and Gabe’s eyes on her for fear of losing precious body parts.
I highly recommend GABE by Susan Fisher-Davis to everyone but if you read JAKE, you’ll definitely want to read GABE. For everyone else, GABE as well as JAKE do very well as stand-alone reads. If you love a good romance with humor, sexy love scenes, and a couple who you know are destined for each other and you want more than anything to see them stay together, then GABE is for you.
***read pre-published manuscript but sharing my honest and unscripted review as a reader not an editor.

I love happily ever after's. I could not stop reading GABE until I reached the end. Emma Connor has loved Gabe Stone forever but Gabe can't see just being with one person forever. They are very flirtatious with each other and one night they finally give in to their feelings. When Gabe learns Emma is pregnant he insists they marry and raise the baby together. He really loves Emma and will do anything to protect her and the baby.
Gabe is a must read book and the Men of Clifton Montana such a wonderful book series. I can't wait to read more about the Stone Family.
Gabe is book two in the Men of Clifton Montana Series and as much as I loved Jake in book one, I do believe Gabe stole my heart. All the men in this series (the one's who don't want to kill anyone) are men I want to read about. Sexy, loyal, protective.....these are just a few qualities these men have in spades. I am definitely hooked on this series and I want to thank Susan Fisher-Davis for creating these characters and storyline, because I can't get enough.
I really liked this story other than two people playing 'hard to get.' I like an author that can write a series of books, especially 30+ with sexy names for all those cowboys, not to mention the photos on each cover. Susan knows how to keep her readers entertained.
One of the interesting parts to this story was Gabe and Emma getting married because being of the gentleman that he is, making an honest woman of her and doing right of the baby they would soon have, but not sharing their love with one another, I guess, comes with something of a 'shotgun' wedding.
Emma overhearing Gabe talking on the phone with Wyatt about their marriage being only one-sided, where he thinks Emma doesn't love him. So, she packs her bags and leaves with the baby. When he comes after her is now when they now share their true feelings for one another.
Gabe and Emma have known each other their whole lives and have hidden their feelings for each other. When he thinks he has lost Emma, and his daughter Sophie does he realize how much he really loves both of them.
Check it out: Men of Clifton, Montana (33 book series) Kindle Edition - Oh my goodness - those Clifton Cowboy don't get better than this. Enjoy and happy reading.
It was ok, after book one (which was really good) I thought I would buy book two. But it’s not. It’s just not. It’s not written well, it’s cringy to read. I’m beginning to wonder if I’ll ever find a cowboy book that will satisfy me ..lol.
Gabe and Emma have known each other their whole lives. What Gabe didn’t know is that Emma has always loved him, from a distance that is. Now she’s a fully grown adult (virgin) Gabe suddenly shows an interest in her.
At first Emma is resistant but she can’t say no to the man she has loved… on there first night together the condom broke. Gabe didn’t tell her…
Gabe decides to marry her to help bring up his child. He’s shocked to find that he has fallen in love with her.. at first it was him doing the right thing bringing his child up, but it became more then that. He loved Emma.
I kinda get what the author was trying to do, it just sort of didn’t turn out that way, a shot gun wedding, a powerplay by Gabe…. It felt off all the way through the book. Such a shame. Will I buy the next one probably only because one of the other brothers intrigues me.
Emma has been in love with Gabe since she was a preteen. Even though she knows he will never see her as more than a little girl, she can't help but hope. I loved that she could talk to any man except she got tongue tied around Gabe. I loved that Emma grew in confidence throughout this whole book. Some could argue it has to do with her relationship with Gabe but as a good partner, he helped her become the woman she was meant to be, not because of it.
Gabe was a man who was OK with the one night stands and no commitments. That was until he held Emma in a time of need. Ever since that he couldn't get her out of his mind. One stolen night of passion bounds them together forever, and while Gabe claimed it wasn't what he wanted, he surely got on board fast when it was with Emma.
I really liked about 98% of this book. There were a few things that Emma did that irritated me. The main one being about her seeing that stranger. Besides that I couldn't help buy root for this couple and their friends.
Gabe: Amazing story! Fantastic writing with lots of surprises and suspense. Hot romance and lots of great characters that care for each other. I love how the Stone Brothers stick together and how hardened they all are. Even though Gabe didn't come out and tell Emma how much he loves her you knew just by how he acted. They were great together and both hard-headed. They are a great couple.
I got the first book for free. I had never read her books before so I figured I had nothing to lose by getting Jake. Now. I have finished Gabe and enjoyed both books She writes a good story with strong, interesting characters. Lots of real life drama, romance and as in most stories a bad guy who loses in the end no cliff hangers, an epilogue to introduce the next book and a happy ending. Will read more of her stories.
Babe stone is a man of little words .Emma has been in Love with Gabe since she was 10 years old , now grown up she become friend with Becca who now own the ranch her grandmother Left her Jake own the ranch next her anyway . Becca Emma. become. Friends , and the story begins . So amazing story I could not put this. book down . So book 1 -2 💯👍🏽📕📕 Well written .
I chose this rating because this is actually a really good book. I really enjoy pretty much all of the characters. This was a book of protection, compassion, humility, understanding, and falling in love and being excepted. I really enjoyed Gabe and Emma story. I think the author did an amazing job will put in these characters together. Really great read! I recommend this book to all cowboy lover and romance readings.
This book was ok- I felt the Gabe character was a bit too pushy and the girl just put up with it. A lot of times where they should have just said what they needed to say not just the two main characters either. The part of them not believing the other loved them was so ridiculous- childish almost even with the guy being in his 30s. Had a good amount of mystery but it dragged on a bit. Steamy parts were ok but not as hot and steamy.
The mark of a Man The thoughts of Emma and Gabe are funny. The each were worried about if the other loved them. Some times you just need to take a leap of faith. The way this story was written allows you to anticipate each move of the of the next person. The parts where Harris came back to take revenge on Becca put a new twist to the story. Did he want to kill Becca? He wanted to take away every thing and everyone she loved. I can hardly wait to start book 3 of this series.
Gabe is the middle Stone brother. He is not looking for marriage; but finds it difficult to hide his attraction to Emma. When she becomes pregnant, they wed. As they adjust to their new wedded state they both struggle with their unspoken words about their feelings. Tension mounts when Emma is shot.
Despite the irritating pagination due to inefficient page layouts which disrupted the smooth reason of the story, this story was gripping and enjoyable. I will get the next in r
I love this small town romance with comedy. Throw in some suspense and you have the perfect combination! After book one I knew I had to follow the journey of these brothers and I was not disappointed! Can't wait for more!
DNF at 12%. I thought the 1st was pretty bad but I gave the second a shot, nope, couldn’t do it. There was potential but this is like my 16 yo wrote it, no depth, no details except for what his kitchen looks like 👎🏻.
She had crushes on him and then loved him for years but he didn’t see her as a woman. Suddenly, he was chasing her every where and it frazzled her. Finally he caught her and took her virginity and the condom broke. Enjoy
I read the first book in a bundle and fell in love with the Men of Clifton. Emma has always been in love with Gabe. Gabe has always seen Emma as the little girl next door. One night of passion changes their lives forever. Can Emma trust Gabe with her heart? Will Gabe fall in love with Emma? I can't wait to read the next one.
