A collection of 29 short stories depicting historical events such as the meeting between Indian political leaders and British counsel on the tribal attack on Kashmir, killing of Nicholas II and his family, circumstances leading to Tipu Sultan's death, stories of Rajput leaders such as Ballu Champawat, Amar Singh and few random ones.

I understand the time at which these were written and yes, were much appreciated but personally, I only liked the ones which dealt with anecdotes from Princess Jahanara Begum's life, a bravery incident from the War of Haldighati and stories providing a glimpse to a period of strengthening of middle class society.

Rest were just average.
