The pieces in this book were selected for their proven appeal to students as well as their value for technical development. Standard guitar repertoire by Carcassi, Carulli, Giuliani, Sor and Tárrega is included along with seven transcriptions of works by Bach, Paganini, Pachelbel and Beethoven, spanning 250 years of music. Pieces are organized in order of difficulty from Grade 1 to Grade 4, as set by the ASTA Guitar Division.
Was looking for relatively easy classical guitar music - preferably with both notes and tabs and use of more of the fret board - with Pachelbel's Canon. Tabbing out the music from non-guitar is something I've done a little bit occasionally. This book so far definitely fits the bill. And the chords are a good add-on both for the names of the chords and the finger positioning especially on barre chords. Hopefully this book will be a jumping off point to get me off of my long plateau.
