The Case of the Case-Carrying Case Workers

Rate this book
If you’re in the mood for a wild mix of humor—from slapstick to word-play to just plain funny—and plots that continually turn in fresh and unexpected directions, you’re ready to read The Case of the Case-Carrying Case Workers. The main character in all these stories, a fly-fishing detective named Undman, botches words, runs across strange people in strange places (for example, a three-eared loan shark in a cathedral-like betting parlor where the money goes down on worldwide air temperatures), and binges on such foods as dry protein powder and breath candies by the spoonful. Two of the stories are weird mysteries set in the Seattle area, one with a sopping heiress who walks backwards and the other about the missing wife of a snob with multiple personalities; one’s a bizarre fly-fishing history lesson recounted by a drunken know-it-all; and the others are brief encounters with sexy women, one with a family emergency and the other with a winning strategy for poker. This book contains mild profanity and some sexual references, which means it’s really for adult readers and that adult readers will really like it.
