Knowing that the upcoming ambush is ISIS-directed, the team seeks out the source of the tip, an abbot at a Christian monastery in Northern Iraq. However, before they can question the abbot, he is killed. They soon find there is only one person who can help unravel the mystery of the impending attack, a six-year-old orphaned boy.

Taking him under their wing, they must go into the lion’s den near Mosul, a no-mans-land where the ISIS butchers operate with impunity. Little do they know that the boy was hidden at the monastery for a very good reason and that ISIS will do anything to get their hands on him.

The MP-5 Team, a group of special operations specialists unconnected with any government bureaucracy, and working out of a corporate headquarters in Houston, Texas, get word of a ghost gathering, a group of unknown terrorists operating undetected on U.S. soil and planning an operation that will generate thousands of casualties, they pull out all the stops to find the terrorists and foil them. Their only lead is a Christian monastery in northern Iraq, but when they arrive, the abbot is killed, and their only chance to stop the deadly plot lies in the hands of a six-year-old orphan boy, who is also being sought by ISIS for its own nefarious purposes.

Ghost Gathering by M. H. Sargent is a spine0tingling thriller that moves with lightning speed from event to event, as the team races the clock against a determined group of terrorists and an international assassin in a high-stakes game which they cannot afford to lose.

A stunning cast of characters, chilling scenarios, and high-tech plots will keep you flipping pages, pulse racing, until the end. While I’m not usually a fan of cliff hanger endings, I was struck at how the author managed to tie up loose ends, give a satisfying conclusion to the main plot, and still leave a question mark hanging over our heroes at the end, setting things up for an equally thrilling sequel.

I read MP-5 CIA #7, in 2014. With the previous 7 novels, book #1 was a four star review, the other six novels were FIVE STAR reviews, but this book just did not do it for me. I did not care about the characters, I was annoyed with the interjection of the Rapier character for no reason (reason exposed at end of this review), there was too much “scene shifting”, and the ending was implausible to me. I will read the next installment, and hope it will be better. I guess it should be since this book was obviously a prequel to book #9.

FANTASTIC!!!

A fast-paced thriller. Once I got use to the author switching scenes all the time, it was expected and enjoyed. It was like reading four stories at the same time. Each of the scenes was equally intense. The characters were well presented flowed seamlessly. The author must have done a lot of research before writing this book.

Ghost Gathering

Ghost Gathering is a truly believable look at what a real terrorist plot against the United States might be. The characters are believable and the action is not completely overblown, as is sometimes the case.

Another thrilling story

The MP5 team is split up on two different missions but they ended up being interrelated. The compassion and forthright behavior make an outstanding mix and story. I thoroughly enjoyed this action thriller.

Awesomeness!

I have be a fan of the MP5 series since the beginning. This series I have to admit is one of my all time favorites. Every time a new book comes out I rush to get it. This new one does not disappoint, the Ghost Gathering has the usual characters Gonz, Heisman, Peterson, McKay etc. This one had a different spin, but still a five star read. Great job Marco..... now get busy on another one. Seriously folks give this author and this series a shot!
