He’ll guard her body all night long.

Former Marine Jude Wilde’s motto has always been “burn bridges and never look back,” so nobody is more surprised when Wilde Security is hired to protect assistant district attorney Libby Pruitt, the woman he loved and left. Although she makes it clear she wants nothing to do with Jude, they’re forced to fake a relationship for her safety. He can’t ignore the heat still simmering between them, and when her stalker’s threats escalate to attempted murder, he’s left with no choice but to whisk her away to a friend’s safe house in Key West, FL.

Cooped up in paradise together, Jude begins to chip away at Libby’s resolve to hate him. But even as she gives in to his proximity and her body’s demands for his, she refuses to fall for his charms again. Maybe a torrid affair in the sun is exactly what she needs to get him out of her system. 3.5 Wilde Brother Hiding in Plain Sight Stars
* * * 1/2 Spoiler Free
This is a case of making a mistake or two and being tagged as a screw up because of that one situation. Jude Wilde has been pegged as the true "wild" brother and due to past history, has allowed his brothers to think that is who is...it was just easier that way.

We all know it can be easier to assume people are one way or another... never considering maybe we should not do a snap judgment. This family of strong men has lived with the loss of their parents early on. This can cause all of them to fill a void.. one the peacemaker, the other the strong disciplinarian. Jude, the young son who felt such unwarranted guilt about his parents dying... has allowed himself to take the rap for any mischief...and since that was his role...he decided to live up to it.

Fast forward to Jude out of the Marines and bored out of his mind in the Wilde Security office.
He is a bit lost and is working with his brothers while trying to figure out his life. He survived his tours of duty but he never recovered from his actions with a certain woman. He broke her heart and damaged his own while doing it. He carries his touchstone of remembrance with him where ever he goes.... forcing himself to not look back and just move on.

Libby, the woman in question, has become a very successful D.A. She has convicted a high profile criminal but the courts have allowed him bail while the appeal process is happening. Now she is receiving creepy threats and items. Her father thinks these threats are real and brings in the one man he trusts with his daughter...if you guessed the Marine, Jude, who broke her heart 8 years ago...you would be correct.

Against both of their requests of this not happening... Jude and Libby are to pretend they are newlyweds and hide out in Key West till the threat is eliminated. Jude will guard and protect her.

This love story followed a path; first, fight banter, then a bit of push back from Libby...as she still secretly loves him. The joke is he does too. Threat circumstances bring them together and although she fights it...the emotions and feelings cannot be denied. This story had love conflicts and then fun, hot times as well as some intrigue and suspense. I happened to figure it out from the start.... but then I am just wired that way...

I felt for our ex-Marine.... he was playing a part his whole life.... and finally with Libby, he can be himself. There were life lessons abound and more brothers to come.

Quite frankly Wilde Nights in Paradise took me by surprise! This was my first book by author Tonya Burrows and I enjoyed every moment of it!

Jude Wilde, the hero, is an ex-Marine and is also known as the family f*ck-up . Jude and his 4 other brothers work together in their own security business ,Wilde Security. Jude has just been released from the marines and is really bored waiting on something new and exciting to happen. In walks his ex-girlfriend’s father, Colonel Elliot Pruitt. He wants to hire Jude to protect his daughter Elizabeth, who is the prosecuting attorney on a high profile case. She’s been getting threats and with each one, they became more personal. Jude wants nothing to do with this case, but ends up taking it after his brothers refuse to take NO for an answer from him.

Libby's at work and having a hard time because she can't stop thinking about the threats, and also the fact that K-Bar the man she is prosecuting, is out of jail. She is looking across the hall when the elevator door opens and Kenneth Burke, one of her father’s employees, and her friend get off of the elevator with Jude. It’s been 8 years since she has seen Jude, and she really wants nothing to do with him, even though just looking at him has her heart beating faster. Jude has a different idea though and as soon as Libby opens her mouth to say something, Jude zeros in and gives her a kiss and then another. All of a sudden WHAM! She punch's him right in the kisser.

Jude and Libby are not happy with the situation, but they decide to make a go of it, especially after a car tries to run them down and another threat is made against Libby. Jude has a special friend, who just happens to own a house in Key West, Florida, that has all sorts of security measures already in place, so the two of them head down to the Keys.

As the story moves along, the sexual tension between these two escalates. It's not long before Libby gives in, and her and Jude have a long bout of hot and hard sex that is SCORCHING! I was really surprised by the amount of heat that there was in this book. All the love/sex scenes were done extremely well and they are plentiful, which is a HUGE plus for me.

There are also a few laugh-out-loud moments in this book that added to my enjoyment.

Near the end things start to go a bit crazy. There is some action, and a bit of a twist in the story line, and I had a hard time putting the book down and read straight through to the end.

I only have one complaint with this book, and that was the ending. Oh it was a good one alright, but I needed and wanted more.

Overall this was a really good read. I look forward to reading many more of Tonya Burrow's books, and I can HONESTLY say that Tonya Burrow's writes romances just the way I like them!

Ex-navy man Jude Wilde has a silver tongue, with a cocky, devil may care attitude. He has been called upon to provide protection for his ex-fiancé Elizabeth Pruitt, who has a stalker on her tail. As much as they deny it, can they douse the flames that are still burning bright between them?

He held out a hand and wiggled his fingers. "So how about it? Ready for our next adventure?"

"Probably not." She popped one more slice of melon in her mouth before accepting his hand. "But someone has to keep you out of trouble."

And there it was, that quick, rabble-inducing grin again. "Aw babe," he said and pulled her to her feet. "Impossible task. Trouble and me, we go way back."

This is a quick fun read. More of a contemporary read as it was light on the romantic suspense. Although a little predictable, it didn’t take away from the story and I found it quite enjoyable. There’s nothing better than a hero that shows his vulnerable side. Enjoy!

This is the first TB I have read and I have to be honest and say that I struggled with it a bit. No it wasn't the writing that I had issue with, I actually thought it was quite good and I am happy to jump in and try another book by the author....My issue was with Jude, quite frankly he got on my nerves. I liked Libby but Jude just acted like a teenager most of the time which was really irritating as most of the book was centred around the pair in a safe house and not a lot else was going on. I think if Ms Burrows had made the H & h younger and targeted the YA market then it would have come across better - I don't like, nor do I read YA so would have known to stay away!

Perfect summer read with a little bit of everything. Romance, suspense, humor, great characters and an HEA!

Jude Wilde, former marine, turned security officer, is working with his four brothers at Wilde Security. He is hired to protect Libby, a past love he was once engaged to but their relationship ended rather unpleasantly eight years ago. After that heartache they both parted ways. Poor Jude, he couldn't seem to catch a break and of course I wanted to know why the relationship ended and what was going on with Libby?

"They all knew Jude was the family fuck up, and he'd made his peace with that."

I was hooked from the beginning from the banter between brothers to the secrets Jude carried as well as the engagement ring he carried in his pocket for the woman who once wore it.

Since things didn't end so well with he and Libby they both moved on with their lives only to be brought back together and put into a situation where they have to pretend they are in a relationship and Jude has to protect her.

Needless to say the chemistry is still there and it was only a matter of time before they acted on it.

Libby wasn't exactly thrilled with Jude protecting her at all but it seemed to be what her father wanted and thought was best. He played a huge role in her life and there were some things I was suspicious about.

"But I can't stand him. He's selfish, hedonistic, reckless, and...I don't want to be near him." Jude grinned. "You're full of compliments."

Yep, I knew I would enjoy these two, their banter, their deep love for one another that they both didn't want to admit was still there and the steam factor was awesome. Now with her life having been threatened they decide it is best for Libby to leave her home and job for a while as well as Jude, so the two of them head to Key West to stay in a beautifully hidden house that belongs to one of Jude's friends.

It is here where they have to be around each other and Libby decides to give him one night and one night only. Boy what a smokin hot night it is. Problem is, will they be able to stop and continue to be in each other's presence without acting on any impulses either one of them have? After all, there are some unresolved feelings and questions.

"I want you, and I know I shouldn't. I can't help myself."

Yeah, I don't think I could have kept myself away from Jude either. Tall, sexy, tattooed and blue eyed, former Marine, yeah ummm no way in hell!

So while they continue their stay things get interesting, secrets are partially revealed, feelings explored, but danger still lurks and Libby finally realizes how much danger she is in, actually becomes frightened but realizes that Jude will protect her no matter what and so much more.

"I will keep you safe," he whispered.

Tonya wrote an awesome book!

Highly recommend this great summer read!! Go check it out!

Being an Assistant District Attorney has proved to be very dangerous to Libby Pruitt. She’s getting creepy death threats that her father and just about everyone else around her are taking very serious; serious enough to hire a bodyguard to keep watch over her until they discover the psycho after her. Unfortunately for Libby, her father has hired the last man she ever wants to see again: Jude Wilde. Gorgeous, magnetic, and overwhelming, Jude ignites every naughty desire in Libby. Too bad he’s the man who shattered her heart to bits eight years ago, two days after his marriage proposal.

His grin only widened, and he snaked an arm around her waist, pulling her against all that hard muscle she remembered too well. He used to pull her in like this and kiss her every time he saw her, no matter if she had been gone for an hour or a week. It had made her feel special, wanted, adored. What a crock.

When a close call sends them into hiding, Jude and Libby are sequestered alone in a tropical paradise. (So sad, right?!) Here they must face an attraction that never went away and the past that continues to haunt and hurt them both.

Being sequestered in a beautiful tropical paradise with a hunky, sassy, sex-god-of-a-man sounds like pure torture to me, but hey, we all have our cross to bear!! Seriously, this was pure fun. I loved that Jude and Libby got a second chance at love and was rooting for them the whole time. They had wicked chemistry and could barely keep their hands off each other!! Wilde Nights was everything I love in a romance: chemistry, and little bit of heartache, and lots of FIRE!! Jude just oozed sex appeal and together they lit up the pages with some pretty steamy scenes.

Even though I had my suspicions early on, the mystery was still exciting and I enjoyed how it all played out.

As with SEAL of Honor, Tonya Burrows thrilled me with her mix of romance, adventure, danger, and suspense! Can’t wait for the next Wilde Nights story!

Jude has always been the Wilde brother who lived up to the family name, he is the youngest of five and has always thought of himself as the screw up. He plays up to his reputation and his goal is to have as much fun as possible and to never look back. After leaving the Marines a month ago he has joined his family security business, life behind a desk is driving him crazy so he jumps at the chance of body guard duty until he realises that the woman he has to protect is Libby, the fiancée he split up with eight years ago and hasn't seen since. Libby is no longer the fun loving young woman Jude once knew, he broke her heart and she has spent the years since they last saw each other focusing on her career to become an Assistant District Attorney. She isn't too worried about the stalker that has been trying to make her life a misery, she is convinced that if they wanted to hurt her they would already have done so but her father isn't going to take any chances and hires Wilde Security to protect her. Then when the stalker changes tactics and attempts to run Libby over she is forced to go into hiding with Jude. Libby never got over Jude so the last thing she wants is to spend time with him but no matter how much she hates him for what he did she can't deny the attraction she feels. Hoping to get him out of her system she agrees to a fling, but only if they don't let their emotions get involved. Can Jude convince her he's changed and that he can be trusted to protect both her body and her heart this time?

Wilde Nights in Paradise is the first book in Tonya Burrows's Wilde Security series. This series is loosely linked to her HORNET series - there will be some cross over of characters, this book for example introduces the hero of HORNET book 2 Seth Harlan - but it isn't essential to read both series alongside each other. While the HORNET books are romantic suspense giving as much (or possibly more) focus to the action as they do to the romance the Wilde Security books have a much heavier focus on the romance and the heat levels are a lot higher! (If you've read any of the other books in Entangled's Brazen line you won't be at all surprised to hear that). I thoroughly enjoyed SEAL of Honor and Wilde Nights in Paradise so would happily recommend both series but I thought it was important to note the differences for those readers who prefer either romantic suspense or contemporary romance.

I have to say I loved Jude from the very beginning, he is witty, charming and a lot of fun to spend time with. He has a reputation as a screw up and as someone who never sticks at anything but we quickly get to see another side to him. It's a side that he keeps well hidden from his brothers but that is just as big a part of him as the fun loving guy - a side that is honest, caring, protective and incredibly sweet. I forgot to mention the killer body and tattoos, I do love a guy who gives off a bad boy vibe (even when he isn't actually a bad boy) and who has tattoos! From what we learn of his separation from Libby at first it seems like it is all Jude's fault but it was easy to see there was more to the story than met the eye and I have to say even before you know the full story it is quite easy to forgive him. Libby is a strong woman who knows what she wants from life, she is stubborn and feisty and there is no way she is going to let Jude break her heart all over again. They have fabulous chemistry from the moment they are back in the same room and spending long hours cooped up in a small house it is no wonder that heat turns into explosive passion. Jude was hot as hell and I'm definitely thinking it would be a lot of fun to go paddle boarding after seeing what Jude and Libby get up to on their trip!

The focus of Wilde Nights in Paradise is definitely on the romance and I loved the way we get to see Jude and Libby's relationship developing from both of their perspectives. The relationship is both sweet and hot and it was great to see them both work through their issues to grow as both individuals and as as a couple. I enjoyed the mystery surrounding Libby's stalker and also uncovering the truth behind what happened in their past but what I loved most was watching the banter between Jude and his brothers. I can't wait to read the other four Wilde brother's stories and I just can't decide which one I'm most excited about, they all had distinctive personalities and it'll be fun to get to know them better. Tonya Burrows has impressed me with both of her novels and I've definitely added her to my list of must buy authors. I'm looking forward to continuing both of these series and would highly recommend giving them a try!

My husband is a soldier, but I will be the first to admit I have a thing for Marines. Even out of uniform, Marines have this irresistibly cocksure, arrogant swagger about them. It's like they know they've got it and they know you want it.....and Jude Wilde has it in spades.

Jude is harboring an incredible amount of guilt over his parents' deaths, so much guilt that he deliberately, whether he's conscious of it or not, destroys all of the good in his life. He's content with everyone around him viewing him as one big fuck up because he doesn't believe he deserves better. Yeah...I wanted to hug him. And rub up against him.... One of the casualties of Jude's misguided self-destructive tendencies was his former fiancé, Libby, the woman he left heartbroken eight years ago. When a stalker threatens Libby, her uber protective father, who knows better than most the depth of Jude's love for his daughter, hands Libby over to Wilde Security for protection. Can Jude keep his hands to himself for weeks on end with the woman he loves more than life traipsing around half-dressed in their Key West paradise? I'm sure you can guess how that worked out for him. The bigger question is, can Libby forgive his "transgressions" and can Jude forgive himself?

This is a great beach read. Hot Marine, feisty heroine, just enough angst, a bit of suspense, some sizzling sex scenes and a sweet HEA.

I've read Burrows' other new release, HORNET #1, and was pleasantly surprised to meet the oft-mentioned Seth Harlan in this book. It's nice to put a character with a name, and I am very curious about him and his Emma.

A really fun romance; perfect as an in between read and easy to go through. I’m currently smack dab in the middle of a reading slump but this book helped me out :)

I love Tonya’s writing and she’s one of my fave romantic suspense authors. Already fell in love with the Hornet series years ago and I can’t wait to read more of the Wilde brothers/this spinoff series in the future!

Jude Wilde is a carefree loose cannon whose motto is ‘never look back.’ But when Wilde Security is contacted to protect Elizabeth Pruitt, his ex-fiancé, Jude’s past will come slamming down on him. Libby wants absolutely nothing to do with Jude, but when an attempt is made on her life, they’re forced to retreat to a safe house. The hot days in Key West turn even hotter as Jude and Libby get to know each other again. But better not lose sight of the mission because danger might come knocking on their door…

With her debut novel barely a month old, Tonya Burrows comes back with this exciting new series! Wilde Nights is a fast paced romance tumble full of humor and heartfelt moments than you will not want to end!

First, can I just mention that Burrows ability to create mouth-watering men is a freaking gift. I’m already fangirling about the men in her HORNET series, so meeting the Wilde boys was like shooting me up with an extra dose of fangirl insanity. Wilde Security is made up five brothers, the oldest brother Greer, the nicely dressed and ever serious Reece, the ying-yang twins (I’m calling them that because one is peaceful while the other isn’t) Camden and Vaughn, and the hilarious Jude. All the boys have unique personalities and I can’t wait to get to know them, their secrets, their desires, their secret desires…!
Ok. Moving on.

Jude is a total charmer. He grabbed my attention from page one for being the sexy trouble maker, but soon enough we learn this is just a facade to the true Jude. He plays the part of screw up really well. It’s what he’s been called and he’s given up on changing everyone’s mind. For someone who’s dealt with war issues pretty well, there is one day from his past that he can never forget or forgive himself for being the cause. The mystery of what that day is and how it changed his whole life makes a nice and steady base for the romance.

Romance is the focus here, but Elizabeth Pruitt has sealed her heart against any danger of heartbreak since that day eight years ago when Jude cheated on her a mere two days after proposing. Sealing her heart has meant blocking the joys out of life and drowning herself in work. So when Jude Wilde comes a-knocking, Libby wants to either run and hide or murder him on the spot. Though she might be hard to swallow at first, Libby won me over or rather the person she is with Jude won me over. Also, arriving at the secluded safe house in Key West means issues, but thank god, none of those include image issues. For a physically realistic heroine, Libby is comfortable with her built.

Jude and Libby’s chemistry is off the charts. With banter, heart wrenching honest scenes, and of course the steamy scenes! Good lord, I would so not be able to read them in public and keep a straight face. Summer in Puerto Rico is hot. While reading Wilde Nights, I swear the temp climbed a couple degrees more!

Oh, and I’ll mention this because it concerns a debate I read about recently. Something as simple as remembering a condom or putting away garbage to not loiter the beach may feel insignificant to point out in a story, but this reader cares and appreciates the thought when authors take the time to mention details like these. Seriously. A sentence is all it takes.

Finally, the most awesome surprise was that the characters in this book have connections to those in SEAL of Honor. We even meet Seth Harlan and get to know more about him. I’m very hopeful for more of these cameos between the series!

Wilde Nights in Paradise features two very likable main characters— two former lovers who were once engaged but who have been separated for 8 long & painful years. Unfortunately, the reason behind their 8-year separation was just too far-fetched & was revealed WAY TOO LATE in the storyline, which didn't give the readers a chance to witness any fallout whatsoever from the "revelation." The secrets revealed were so incredibly profound since they irreparably changed the course of the hero & heroine's lives for close to a decade. The secret— a traumatic event in both characters' lives— underscored EVERYTHING that occurred in this novel, minus . And yet, the author merely glossed over the ramifications of this life-altering revelation. Within the final few pages of the novel, the readers were informed of the secret, which was then almost immediately followed by the HEA, & then THE END. It was bad writing & lazy writing, as far as I was concerned.

In the beautiful and eclectic setting of Key West, Florida, author Tonya Burrows weaves a sexy and alluring story of tragic pasts and second chances.

Jude Wilde purposely broke the heart of the one woman he loved and he has been regretting it every day for eight years despite his motto of never looking back. When Wilde Security is hired by the father of the woman he scorned to protect her from a stalker, he'll be forced to come face to face with his past and his mistakes. Libby Pruitt A.D.A. is not the fun loving girl he knew back then, she is more serious and controlled, but if possible even more beautiful. Jude knows that he doesn't deserve Libby. Doesn't deserve the wife, 2.5 kids, and white picket fence that he dreams about with her. But when they are in hiding in a beautiful beach house in the Florida Kays and Libby asks for just one night with him to get their still-burning sexual attraction out of their system, will he be able to maintain his distance? And will one night be enough? As they start losing themselves in their sultry oasis though, danger finds them...

I really enjoyed Wilde Nights in Paradise! I didn't look much into the book itself before reading, just a quick glance over the blurb and a lingering gaze for the cover. Being part of Entangled's Brazen line I took it as gold and am happy to say that I was not disappointed. I was also pleasantly surprised to find out that this series ties into Tonya's debut HORNET series which I quite enjoyed as well.

The book starts with an introduction to all of the Wilde brothers, which I have to say all seem to be drool-worthy alpha men. However, these guys definitely have some issues to work out and are far from a happy family unit. Wilde Nights in Paradise focuses on the youngest brother though. The trouble maker. The "fuck-up". He puts up an impressive facade of cockiness, lightheartedness and that of a fun-loving single guy but there is more to Jude that meets the eye and his family, the woman he loves and us readers see pieces of this as the story progresses. But the puzzle that is Jude Wilde isn't completed until the end of the story. The author does an incredible job of peeling away these layers while still keeping the story steadfastly moving. And even though Libby and Jude have a history together with a chemistry that still sizzles, there is still a building of romance with an almost 'new love' feel as they rediscover each other and realize that even though they were together a year, there was a lot that they didn't know about the other. I was kept in a constant state of suspense trying to figure out Jude's secrets and the reasoning behind them and when some elements of his past were finally revealed and he had to confront one in particular, I had tears swimming in my eyes.

Libby was a wonderful heroine who was feisty and independent, and I really loved that even though she had her heart broken and she did somewhat wall off parts of life because of it, she still kept herself going, made goals, and a good life for herself. She never had that 'poor me' attitude or developed a bad self image because of it. She was real. The banter between Libby and Jude was fun and entertaining, and the steamy scenes were plentiful and hot. Just how I like 'em!

The suspense in the story was somewhat lackluster, seeming to be used as only an instrument to force the couple together. But with the captivating characters, charismatic setting, and well paced plot the lack of suspense didn't affect the overall enjoyability of the story too much. Wilde Nights in Paradise was still a great read! I'm looking forward to more from both the Wildes and the HORNETs, especially since we finally meet up with Seth Harlan who was mentioned in SEAL of Honor.

Books like Tonya Burrows’ Wilde Nights in Paradise are why I love Entangled’s Brazen line. The repartee between the heroes and heroines always proves to be amusing but any light-heartedness is counteracted with serious issues that give an added layer of depth to the two protagonists. Such is the case for Jude Wilde an Elizabeth “Libby” Pruitt, whose tumultuous relationship in Wilde Nights in Paradise recalls the adage that things aren’t always what they seem.
Marine-turned-private investigator for Wilde Security, Jude Wilde, is tasked with guarding Assistant District Attorney Elizabeth Pruitt from a stalker possibly connected to one of her cases involving a dangerous criminal. The only complication with this scenario is their former relationship, which ended abruptly in tears and heartache. Eight years apart has done nothing to dispel their explosive chemistry, making for a memorable reunion, in which romantic feelings are stirred and old wounds are opened.
So begins the first of many bouts of what Burrows terms “argumental gymnastics” – an apt description for the verbal sparring that dominates the majority of conversations between Jude and Libby. Never have disagreements been as fun as when an infuriatingly charming tease engages in a battle of wits with a logical thinker whose livelihood depends on winning arguments. Jude takes a certain pleasure in antagonizing straight-laced Libby, endlessly needling her short fuse, and somehow managing to remain as likable as he is frustrating. Their love-hate relationship is a constant source of entertainment while also providing fuel to ignite their passionate love scenes.
As much as I like Libby’s character, Jude is the star of this book. Family included, everyone sees him as a perpetual screw-up, not bothering to discover the sweetness and sensitivity behind his carefully-constructed devil-may-care façade. I don’t normally make a habit of crying while reading books (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, aside), but Wilde Nights in Paradise had me teary eyed on more than one occasion. It’s easy to sympathize with Jude, whose pain and anguish is s gut-wrenchingly real and raw, it’s almost a tangible presence.
Wilde Nights in Paradise may be the first book I’ve read by Tonya Burrows but it won’t be my last. Her story is engaging, intense, funny, and heartbreaking; in short, it’s a spectacular start to an amazing new Brazen series set around a family of five brothers, each with distinct personalities. The one mistake Burrows makes is introducing them all at the start of the book, leaving me with no choice but to take occasional breaks to ponder the possibilities of future installments featuring the Wilde brothers.

Right from the opening chapter this was fabulous and totally lived up to its title. Well-written, it has wonderful characters, a captivating story with surprises, suspense and action along with moments that make you laugh, those that pull on your heartstrings and passionate steamy moments that will leave you wishing you were the leading lady.

Jude Wilde is simply delectable. An ex-marine with an air of the bad boy about him, he's tattooed, pierced and drips sexy...panty-busting, knee-quivering, heart-fluttering sexiness. As 1/5 of the Wilde Brothers security firm, he may see see himself as the family failure, but underneath the tough exterior is much more; he's protective, cheeky, witty and good at what he does. Libby Pruitt, prosecuting attorney, is being stalked. With a murder trial upcoming and the defendant out on bail she's in danger. A strong, independent, feisty, stubborn women, she doesn't see the need for protection. But Daddy does and entrusts her into Jude's care. Only snag? They were engaged 8 years previously and it didn't end well....

Both were such each characters to love and I knew within the first couple of chapters that I was going to become totally invested in them and their journey. With stubborn determined natures and their history, there was bickering, banter, fun, sexual tension, passion and sizzling sexcapades. And it all was perfectly balanced with lovely touching moments and those where my heart went out to them. Jude stole my heart, but there are 4 Wilde brothers to go, each seemingly complex and with their own stories to tell, so whether I remain faithful to him, only time will tell ;)

Definitely a book I'd recommend. The first book from Tonya Burrows I've read, it won't be the last.

I received this book as an ARC from the publisher for an honest and unbiased opinion.

I bought this book yesterday and stayed up until about 3AM to finish it.....I literally could NOT put it down!! WILDE NIGHTS IN PARADISE is the 2nd novel by new author, Tonya Burrows. It tells the story of Jude Wilde, the perpetual screw-up youngest sibling, who is haunted by a past tragedy, in a family of 5 brothers and Libby Pruitt, a successful DA who he loved and walked away from 8 years ago.

When Libby’s life is threatened by a stalker, her overbearing Marine father hires Wilde Security, a company run by Jude and his brothers to protect his daughter and find out who the stalker is. Their relationship is turbulent and old wounds run deep as Jude moves Libby to a safe house until her stalker is caught. Their love-hate relationship runs through a gambit even as their passion is renewed.

Tonya Burrows does an amazing job of showing all sides to this conflicted yet gun shy couple. Jude is a wounded soul who, like Peter Pan, never quiet grew up and Libby is a woman still fighting to heal a heart broken many years before. Burrows shows her readers all sides of Jude and Libby…their sorrow, their passion and their humor……and WILDE NIGHTS IN PARADISE is a perfect blend of all three.

It’s not often that a book brings me to actual tears, but as Jude fights his demons and Libby looks deep inside herself to find the woman she wants to be, I found myself wiping away tears as I read WILDE NIGHTS IN PARADISE. I thoroughly enjoyed Burrows’ first novel SEAL OF HONOR and am looking forward to reading about the rest of the HORNET Team, but WILDE NIGHTS IN PARADISE totally blew me away. I can’t wait for the rest of the Wilde Security series and the chance to get to know the rest of the Wilde boys!!!!

Rating around 3.5 to 4 stars!

Hero/heroine were involved and engaged eight years ago but the hero sabotaged it like he has done everything in his life and followed his philosophy of never looking back. Out of the marines he has joined his brother's PI company despite the fact that his brothers consider him a screw up and then the last man he wants to see comes to hire him, the Colonel, the father of the only woman he loved and who he hurt for her own good.

It seems the heroine now an ADA, has a stalker and her father wants him to protect her. The heroine punches him the moment she sees him, she hates him. He proposed to her and then broke her heart and yup took her enjoyment of sex away. So, when they have to hide together she decides to spend one night with him, he owes her, no strings. The hero for all his avowals of not getting involved, seemed mighty interested in getting her to like him again.

Honestly, he took to long to tell her what happened that long ago. I liked how the heroine held firm over his charisma. Overall not a bad book.

Rating 3-3.5

Eight years ago, Jude Wilde was a Marine in OCS (Officer Candidate School), he fell in love with his instructor's daughter, Elizabeth "Libby" Pruitt, and two days after proposing, everything fell apart. Fast forward to the present, he's out of the military and works with his brothers for Wilde Security. When they're hired to protect an Assistant District Attorney from a stalker, the case threatens to dredge up many painful memories for Jude because Libby is the ADA. She hasn't forgiven or forgotten the hurt and the betrayal, so imagine her reaction when she learns that her father has hired none other than Jude "the cheating b*stard" Wilde to protect her. An attempt on her life drives them into seclusion, alone, together. Their lust and passion for each other never went away, so in confined quarters, raw emotions and old hurts resurface. Can they set aside their differences long enough to explore their feelings for one another before the stalker makes another attempt on her life? Or are some things just not meant to be and better left where they belong - in the past?

The story begins with a glimpse into the dynamics of the Wilde brothers. Jude is the youngest, and he's dubbed himself "the family f*ckup". According to his older brothers, he can't do anything right. When we get a glimpse of his past with Libby from her POV, we assume that Jude really is a jerk who deserves to wallow in his misery and grovel until the cows come home. He may be in his thirties, but he still lives life with a devil may care attitude. As the story progresses, it becomes clear that there is more to Jude than meets the eye, and why would he feel the need to put on such a convincing façade?

After the devastating event of losing her fiancé and love all in the same night, Libby has thrown herself into her work. The Libby of the present seems so at odds with the Libby from Jude's past. She no longer lets loose and has become rather stiff and proper. Jude intends to change all that, if Libby will let him get close enough to try. She doesn't want to be nice to him, she doesn't want to feel the desire burning hot for him, but she has needs.

This pairing had chemistry, as far as opposites attract or slap-slap-kiss tropes will allow, but I didn't feel a connection to them, nor did I find myself feeling invested in their happiness (well, Jude to a point more than Libby). Libby was one of those characters who loved at a very young age, and because of one bad experience she either couldn't or didn't want to fall in love again. She let it define her. These two bickered throughout the story, a lot. Some of it was really funny, and other times I just cringed. Jude never denied that his past was littered with nameless, faceless women. He didn't seem to have a filter when he'd blurt some of that out just to rile Libby up, or pay her back for an equally unthoughtful comment. For someone who once loved her, and kind of still does, I found that a bit odd. I like snark, but in some areas, I felt like it was a bit much. Their arguing made them sound really juvenile that I completely forgot she was a lawyer and he was a former Marine. Their hot and cold behavior was a recurring theme throughout the story that began to get a bit old past the half way mark. They seemed unwilling or incapable of actually communicating. The truth behind their breakup isn't revealed until the end. While it was a tad bit over the top, I understood why Jude let her assume the worst about him.

There were two surprises that I got a little excited about, namely that Vaughn has a connection to Gabe Bristow and Travis Quinn, and we meet Seth Harlan who was considered for the sniper position in SEAL of Honor (HORNET, #1). More about Seth's condition is mentioned in this book that was only alluded to in the other series.

Overall, it was enjoyable. The story never slowed down, it kept moving forward from one thing to the next. The sex was hot and uninhibited. I liked the full reveal of Jake's "baggage" and the closure he found at the end. The suspense served no real purpose other than to force the hero and heroine to confront their past and see where the future would lead them. Jude and Libby may not have been my cup of tea, but I find myself more intrigued about the other brothers, especially Reece. I would definitely read more from this author because I find things I both like and dislike in equal measure. It has its ups and downs, but when the author hits the right amount of snark, I enjoy it immensely.

Favorite Moments:

Jake and Libby barely missed getting run over by a car.

"Are you? Did it hit you?"

"No. Landed hard, but I'm fine." He grinned. "Better than fine. This is the most fun I've had in weeks. Feels good to get the adrenaline going. Wanna have sex?"

Libby huffed out a breath in disbelief. "You're insane."

"Depends on your definition. So is that a no?"

"Yes."

His eyes danced. "Yes?"

"No! I meant yes as in yes, it's a no. I mean—" She threw up her hands.

Libby has needled Jake a little too far.

"There's a reason I never look back—and you're it. I never wanted to see you again. You drive me nuts with all of your questions and protests and fucking logic. You're so uptight, you wouldn't know a good time if it whacked you on the ass."

I went back and forth on this one, mainly because Libby was not taking her security seriously and the men in her life went overboard trying to control her. However, even with that being a pet peeve of mine, the author was able to make the story work out. I laughed more than I thought I would. And I got a little choked up near the end. Did not expect that. I'll probably be trying the next book in the series.

Readers note ... this book mentions characters from the HORNETS series. From my guess, if you want to read the author's books as one series in published order, then you will not be spoiled as to what couples are coming up next.

herding cats & burning soup

Lots of authors manage to create enjoyable reads. But it's an entirely different thing to make your readers LOVE your characters. To make them want to climb in the book and pound on people when they're giving the hero or heroine a hard time. To set off that protective don't you mess with my baby hand on the hip pissed off mama bear reaction in someone. And that's where Tonya Burrows gets me. She makes me freaking love her characters.

I had a great time with Wilde Nights in Paradise and so much fun getting to know Jude and Libby. Their romance combined two of my favorite themes...reunions/second chances and fake mates... these two had a doozy of a break up years earlier and now they're having to pretend to be an item once again to keep her safe from an escalating stalker. Drama, suspense and steam abound! And it was a delightful ride.
"Want to tell me what that was about?"

He took great care in pouring his own glass, but still wouldn't meet her gaze.

"Well?" she prompted.

"I feel ridiculous."

"You should." And she probably shouldn't take so much delight in the fact that his ears had turned bright red, but.. honestly, it was adorable. She would have dialed down her teasing if he wasn't laughing at himself right along with her. "You screamed like a little girl."

"Bullshit." He finally looked up with an expression of mock horror. "It was a manly scream."

"Very manly," she said and patted his hand.

Libby was a great heroine. She's strong, smart, maybe a little too stubborn and naive sometimes and is dealing with a lot of hurt from their past relationship. While I didn't love all of her reactions I totally got why she was how she was. And I really enjoyed her...especially when she let her defenses down.

But Jude is the one that won the show for me. Won the show. This is a hero that... made me laugh, made me frustrated, heated me up and got me teary eyed. He's an incredible man that has a lot more to him than the people around him give him credit for. Maybe he's earned his reputation and their less than stellar opinions about him but it still ticked me right the heck off on his behalf. Really. I had to put the Nook down and step away for a couple minutes because ohmygod this cat herder was reading to bring down some pain on a couple people. lol Because he is an amazing guy and if they'd just look a little deeper they'd see it, ya know? *whew* okay. Really. I'm good now. lol

Even though parts were very emotional (they totally had me in friggin tears!) there was a hell of a lot of humor mixed in too which really makes for a fun read. I loved watching these two hash out their past and their undeniable attraction to each other and discover some surprises along the way.The steamy scenes were oh.my.god hot. Like make you pant, rattle the headboard hot. Some interesting locations too. And damn I loved it. There were some very tender sweet moments as well which really rounded things out nicely.

I really loved Wilde Nights in Paradise. Everything about it. Even the parts that made me want to scream I loved because it just showed how much Burrows had me invested in these two. From tears to joyous laughs and surprised moments this was a winner for me and easily gets a Pick of the Litter rating. If you love a hot romance, second chances and a touch of suspense to top it all off this is one you need to get.

OMG! This is so boring! And the book keeps repeating itself. yes, thank you very much. You already told us that for like the 5th time. I am not a goldfish with short term memory.

Nothing much happens in the book. Even though the premise was so intriguing, death threats, safe house and hiding, and stuck with hunky ex-fiance on a vacation. But it was just too boring, they keep repeating their backstory, like I already heard this, can we move on please. And even with the mystery of who the stalker might be, it just doesn't pull me into the story. Even with the sex, I don't feel the chemistry between Jude and Libby. Or maybe, I just don't like Libby. She is so dumb and annoying for someone who is supposedly a really smart lawyer. I find her insensitive and complete disregard her own safety and the worry she cause her loved ones. Even when the threats got to a concerning level she completely brush it off. And Jude doesn't make me swoon either. He's pretty pathetic, the whole woe is me persona and the whole nobody understands me, I am just deeply misunderstood, to the point I simply pretend to be something I'm not so no one can put expectation on me. Woe is me. Even as my ex-fiance you don't know me, I only let you see the person I want you to see. Like, seriously? urgh, no.

I just don't feel any trait from both characters that make me like them, they're so mediocre, and they're just there. No trait or personality that specifically stand out and make me like them. I don't even understand what they like about each other.

I also don't like that they didn't know each other well even though they were supposedly deeply in love and was then engaged 8 years ago. What is the point of having that connection when it doesn't really give them a deeper connection, or chemistry, or the deep feeling of losing your one true love and having a chance at reconnection. I also found the reason they broke up to be extremely weak.

Also, for 8 years Libby couldn't get intimate with anyone and just can't do it with anyone other than Jude makes me angry. For some reason, this really bothers me, especially since Jude bangs other people even though he regards them as faceless women who faces all blend. This makes it even worst. Before I read this book, I wouldn't have thought that it would bother me, but for some reason it did. Maybe it's because of the inequality, while she can't have casual relationship but he can. I know, it's supposed to be her character, she's a serious person and very stuck up, doesn't know how to relax and have fun. But still, for her to not be able to get intimate at all just rubs me the wrong way. Why can't she just swore off love or something. I just find the whole, my body only reacts to him super cliche, and not in a good way.

Everyone has that one person in their past that they can't seem to forget about. The one that got away. The one that is the leading lady or leading male of each and every dream. The one that they think about when they're sad or lonely and the one they want to share their good news with. What if that person happens to be someone whose heart you broke? The last thing anyone would want is to have to spend every waking moment with that person. Unfortunately that is what is going to happen to Jude Wilde. Recently out of the Military Jude is now working for his family's Private Security firm, when an opportunity comes knocking that he does not want to answer.

Jude is hired to protect his former flame Assistant District Attorney Libby Pruitt. Libby has been receiving mysterious letters and threats against her life. And the only one her Father trusts to protect his daughter is her ex flame. Stuck together in a safe house in Key West, they take trips down memory lane and Libby wonders why Jude left her the way he did. But as time goes by there seems to more than the story that Libby knows. Will she learn the truth about why Jude did what he did? Who is after Libby and Why? And will they be able to catch him? Wilde Nights in Paradise comes out on June 10th, buy the book to find out!

There were so many great things about this book. First of all once again Tonya Burrows has created a great cast of characters that you immediately get to know and love. Second, the story is so great and there are scenes that keep you on the edge of your toes, turning the page the to see what is going to happen next.

Also I highly recommend reading SEAL of Honor first, because Tonya throws in a surprise about a third into the book when you find out who the Hero of HORNET #2 is going to be. It was completely not who I was expecting it to be but I am happy about her choice and cannot wait to read more about him.

He was raw, real and so deep in pain but doing the best he could to hide it. Every time he took a hit so did I. I was just so connected to them and wanted so much for them to work it out and really make it work.

The story has so many seriously funny spots, some heartbreaking tear jerker moments and some seriously steamy knock you back and make you pant moments. I wasn't even far along in the story when I started stalking the author's webpage to find out when the other brothers were getting their stories. I need more, like more Reece, Seth, Van, Vaughn & of course more Greer, sweet baby jeezus I need more of the Wilde Brothers like ASAP.

I truly enjoyed the story, their past history made their new relationship both harder and easier, they really had so much to work through and her dad certainly didn't help matters either. As for her stalker, Sir I'm going to need you to take a stadium full of seats, like all the seats, crazy looks good on NO ONE.

I really loved it and recommend it to everyone who is a fan of the genre and those that are not sure they will like the genre, this is a good read!!!

Of all the Books from Entangled that I've read recently (which is a lot!!) this is probably my favorite. I expected it to be your typical 2nd chance love story with a bitter woman. Well she was bitter but the story was so much more than that.

First you have Jude. He's the youngest of the Wilde brothers. He's the last to join up at Wilde security. He has a guilty conscience and because of it has assumed his self appointed role as family f$&* up. He feels so strongly that his brothers think of him that way, that he doesn't even try to prove them wrong.

Then there's Libby. She was a carefree college student who thought she had found the man she would marry... Until it ended. Her response to her heartbreak was to throw herself into work and to not look back. She's worked hard as a prosecutor.

Libby's been receiving threatening letting. The letters coincide with the release of a dangerous murder defendants release on bail. Libby's father is afraid so he hires Wilde Security. That in and of itself would be a lot to handle. Add to it the fact that Libby and Jude used to be engaged and it becomes almost too much for them both.

As I said I had expected this to be a second chance love story but there were so many different aspects to this story. Libby and Jude both make discoveries about who they were and who they are. They deal with moe than just their relationship. Libby deals with her relationship with her dad, and Jude deals with his relationships with his brothers and his parents. I also liked the tie in with Seal of Honor: Hornet. That's next on my reading list.

Former Marine Jude has a motto: "never look back". He's all about moving forward in life and having a good time. His words to live by become a little harder to follow when his past is literally shoved at him, in the form of a gorgeous woman, Libby. Libby and Jude were together for a year in college and ended on less than favorable terms. But it's in his job description at Wilde Security to protect her against a stalker and although they'd rather never see each other again, they are forced to fake a relationship for Libby's safety. Cooped up together for safety in paradise, can they resist each other or will they give in to temptation?

Wilde Nights in Paradise was a fantastic read. It was well-written, had romance, intrigue and laugh out loud moments; along with some first-rate characters, Wilde Nights left me wanting more with its wit and steamy love scenes.

Jude was a joy to read about. Jude is a classic bad-boy with tattoos and the no-care reputation. At first, you sort of love to hate him. But as the story goes on, you learn about different aspects in Jude's life and start to realize why Jude is they way he is and you uncover the side of Jude that no one gets to see.

Wilde Nights is a well-written, fun read that I would definitely recommend to others. I'm excited to read more about The Wilde brothers as well as the HORNET team.

I received an ARC from the publisher for an honest and unbiased opinion.

Jude Wilde works with his brothers at their security firm. They are hired to provide security for Libby, who is receiving threats they suspect are from a criminal she is currently prosecuting. When the threats come too close to home, Jude takes to her to his buddy's home in Palm Beach. Eight years ago Libby and Jude were engaged, but when she caught him kissing another woman, she left him. Both still have feelings for each other and the close proximity leads them to explore them again.
I wanted to read this book after thoroughly enjoying Ms. Burrow's first book in the HORNET series. I was hoping there would be a little more action and danger since that's what I liked about the other book (even though it's a different series) and it is about a security firm.
The characters' relationship is well-developed. Since they had a previous relationship, the speed that their relationship develops is realistic. It's good writing. The descriptions and dialog advance the story. The plot has good pacing and the characters have a well-rounded life and don't just spend all their time in romantic pursuits.

Former Force Recon marine Jude Wilde’s motto has always been “burn bridges and never look back,” so nobody is more surprised when Wilde Security is hired to protect assistant district attorney Libby Pruitt, the woman he loved and left. Although she makes it clear she wants nothing to do with Jude, they’re forced to fake a relationship for her safety. But when her stalker tracks them down, can they escape the steamy Key West night without anyone getting hurt?

My Thoughts: I love stories filled with hunky men. And, fortunately, it seems as if Jude’s story is only the beginning of a Wilde fantasy! I found myself very invested in the back story of our hero, Jude Wilde, and heroine, Libby Pruitt. And, even though I pegged the bad guy from the very beginning, it didn’t detract at all from my enjoyment. The personal growth of the two main characters, as well as that of a couple of the minor characters, unfolded at just the right time to make their changes believable. Tonya Burrows’ Wilde Nights in Paradise from Entangled’s Brazen line gets a crisp military salute!

This is one book that will defiinitely not gather cyber dust bunnies on your e-reader!

I’m not going to lie, the title is awful. I requested this on Netgalley because of the publisher and after reading the blurb decided it would be fun but the title would never have caught my interest. That’s a pity really because from all my recent Entangled reads this is one of my favourites.

On the surface the story is about two people reconnecting. There is humour, danger and romance. with this genre you know there is happy ending anyway but at moments there is a flicker of doubt. Will this really work out?

What I really enjoyed about Tonya Burrows book is that there is a lot more depth to all the characters. Jude’s relationship with his brothers is really complex. Despite the romance so much of this book is about forgiveness, not just between Libby and Jude but between him and his brothers and Jude forgiving himself.
Sign me up for the next Wilde Security novel.
