I enjoyed getting a little bit more background on Lara and Nick, picking up a little more insight into Lara’s character, as her personal demons are examined a little more closely.

Nick and Lara have a strong undercurrent running between them, that has me itching to see them give in to temptation, but I am enjoying the tantalizing build -up between them right now.

This second installment is action packed, gritty, and suspenseful and, of course, the last paragraph will leave you begging for more. I can’t wait to see where the series will go from here.

This one picked up right where the last one left off and didn't leave you hanging for answers to the last chapter of the last book. Thank goodness! :) It starts with a bang and doesn't quite let you catch your breath. The "flavor" of the character Laura was a bit different. While she was very rigid in the last book, she seemed more reckless. Not so much that she frustrated you, but just enough to see the difference in how the character was portrayed. It didn't bother me as it also felt like we got to know her better and that is why we perceived a change in her. This one also ends with a bit of a cliffie, but not as brutal as the last one. Still a good addition to this story.

Now that I'm past having to buy each part separately, the series is actually very good. Authors' writing styles are similar.

Definately a Harlequin beginning. This opens up with a pretty graphic sex scene. I thought the story is interesting, but wouldn't read it if it wasn't part of this series.

Good

This is Luke one chapter in a book and in order to find out the ending you have to keep buying the next chapter.

Her and her partner got together too fast in this book. It went from 0-100 way too fast for me

**ENTIRE SERIES REVIEW**

If you don't pay attention to the publisher at the start, you will soon realize that this is a Harlequin novel. When the FBI agents aren't investigating the crimes and trying to get the bad guy, they're either having sex or fantasizing about it. We get it, they are adults but Lara Gant seems to be a little too focused on getting physical with the bad guy or her new partner. If you got rid of the gratuitous love making, this 8 book series could be condensed to 4.

Once you get past the late nite Cinemax plots, it is a good crime series. Of course there is a mole, a bad guy and a twin, plus a daughter that gets used as bait. It is longer than needed (even without the explicit relationship descriptions), but getting through it is a rewarding way to spend some free time.

This book picks right up where the last left off. One thing that I noticed right away was that Lara was a bit different and that is simply due to two writers and their personal writing styles. However it doesn't take away from Lara as a character at all. If anything it actually adds to her like she is growing as a person which I found awesome.

Another thing that I enjoyed was more of Nick and Lara together. There is some chemistry there and waiting to see if they give in to it makes the story all that more enjoyable. Again there is plenty of action and suspense to keep you entertained. Of course there was that cliff hanger again but since you already know going into to it that there will be eight parts you don't get too upset. At least I didn't.

I received this book for free from in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. This review was first published at Blushing Reads.

I find this series interesting since each installment is written by a different author. I could definitely tell that this one was written a little differently from the first. The character took on a more edgy feel and the descriptions were different. At first it felt like I was almost reading a different book until I started to get into the flow of the new authors style.

This installment seemed a bit rushed or like something was off. The main character was unraveling so perhaps I was experiencing her anxiety and how things needed to happen right now. I didn't like this one as much as the first, but it was still a fun read. I'm looking forward to the 3rd to see how that author handles things.

Not all that much progression in the second instalment in the series however the reader is certainly provide more background information related to the undercover operation our main character was involved in prior to book one. The characters continue to remain believable and the pace is consistent. As I said the plot doesn't really progress that far and the way key potential witnesses are removed from the equation is a bit too predictable for my thinking. Nevertheless still an interesting story and hopefully instalment three will pick things up a bit.

Better than the first part. Great action and there was a beginning of something new between Lara and Nick and suspense. After reading this book u will be really compelled to read the next part.

This was ok, packed with action and suspense. Quick read that keeps building up the mystery. Always a cliff but not a surprise considering we know it's an 8 book series. I'll keep reading an see where this leads.

Talk about drag out a series.
Why do authors create several tiny little novellas in a series to drag things out.
Seriously loosing interest.
