The nuns in my Catholic elementary school always said that each of us has a gift, a reason we were put here on earth. Our job is to discover what that purpose is. Well, I knew early on that I was meant to be a writer. Who else would spend her childhood grinding sparkling rocks into fairy dust and convince her friends it was real? Or daydream her way through elementary school, spend high school reading philosophy and playing the bagpipes, and then head off to Spain during college to live the writer's life?

After four years in Madrid I straggled back home, broke but fluent in Spanish, and discovered that I'd acquired a marketable skill. So instead of writing, I began teaching Spanish. I also married a Coast Guard Officer and followed him around the country as he rescued ships and saved lives.

The years passed. We had two sons. I earned my master's degree and continued teaching, which I really enjoyed. We met interesting people and acquired a quirky dog.

But the desire to write kept lurking in my mind. That was my dream, what I knew I'd been destined to do -- and yet, I had never done it. Then one day I made a decision. If I wanted to become a published author, I had to stop fantasizing about writing and actually do it.

So I began my first book –- and discovered that writing a saleable novel was much harder than I'd dreamed. Fortunately, I inherited a healthy dose of Irish stubbornness, a strong mid-western work ethic and a love of challenges that helped me persevere.

So here I am at last, just as the nuns instructed and right where I hoped I would be –- writing stories about characters struggling along their own paths of self-discovery. I hope you enjoy their journey home.

Trapped (Tough Justice #4) by Gail Barrett is a 2016 Harlequin special release.

This chapter has some wild mood swings with Lara’s deeply troubled psyche, Nick’s troubled past, and Moretti’s continued mind games, but there is a also a huge break in the case, which added a sense of euphoria to the story. But, don’t get caught up in the celebrations. A battle has been won, but the war is far from over.
Another nice installment in this e-series, which I have been enjoying immensely. Remember, these must be read in order and are part of an eight -part series. This is for fans of crime stories and romantic suspense.

Im all about a good romance but, I don’t know if I love or hate nick and Lara’s relationship. Also, why is every meeting with the bad dude in prison literally the exact same. It’s always ‘I won’t be scared. Oh no I’m scared. Ooo he’s hot. But he’s such a bad guy. Damn, I didn’t get anything out of him but I poured out my soul to him.’

**ENTIRE SERIES REVIEW**

If you don't pay attention to the publisher at the start, you will soon realize that this is a Harlequin novel. When the FBI agents aren't investigating the crimes and trying to get the bad guy, they're either having sex or fantasizing about it. We get it, they are adults but Lara Gant seems to be a little too focused on getting physical with the bad guy or her new partner. If you got rid of the gratuitous love making, this 8 book series could be condensed to 4.

Once you get past the late nite Cinemax plots, it is a good crime series. Of course there is a mole, a bad guy and a twin, plus a daughter that gets used as bait. It is longer than needed (even without the explicit relationship descriptions), but getting through it is a rewarding way to spend some free time.

This one really seemed to capture my attention and I finally realized that this serial reminded me of a tv series. One where you are trying to figure out the overall arc, but are presented with a mystery to be solved within the hour... oh and get a glimpse of what needs to be solved in the next. I think that is why the change of authors do not bother me and it felt familiar. I feel like I'm binging on a series. :)

In this one I really need to know what Moretti is playing. I'm even questioning if he has anything directly to do with what is going on. If he doesn't, then why does he know so much. Darn it! I want those answers but I know they won't come until the end. This episode was still very action oriented and I'm still not behind the coupling of Lara and her partner. I'm not against it, but just don't quite feel it yet. Still, too many secrets between the two of them (with one demanding answers but giving none himself) so at this point it doesn't work. Plus, with so much going on, it is hard to have a fully realized romance in the story. This one ends with another bang and I need to know what happens next...

I really enjoyed this addition to the series. Reading it really reminded me that this series has been written very much like a television series. I was up and down in this one. Lara has some deep issues and then there is Nick's troubled past and well it left me emotionally drained. The one good thing is that there was a major break in the case but then I remember that this was just one small part in the grand scheme of things. I'm certain that Moretti has plenty planned for the future. I will say that Nick was a bit demanding with wanting answers but I guess the guy has never heard "What's good for the gander is good for the goose!" Lara needs some answers too. This pair really need to learnt o share things in order for this relationship to work.

I received this book for free from in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. This review was first published at Blushing Reads.

The story continues. Trust is earned and cannot be demanded. But trust is also very much a two way street as our main characters learn. The inevitable relationships develop along with the obvious complexities. Some bad guys are apprehended, but are they enough to crack the case? In my opinion the actual main FBI crime story is taking too long to tell and the balance is sub plot fillers. In relation to the fillers, some aspects are really good. others are at best average. Half way through the set of eight but an overseas trip presents a welcome break from these for a little while.

Lara Grant cannot quit. The battle rages on as she fights to stop the man she helped put behind bars. He delights in taunting her with cryptic messages, and he strikes again, close to home.

Though the books in the Tough Justice Series are not long, they are packed with action, and I still keep reading to see what the outcome will be. The budding romance between Lara and her FBI partner also keep me coming back for more.

Another great installment in this 8 part series. Gail Barrett really kept up the pace of Carol Ericson's 3rd installment of this book. Nick is back in the story and Lara and Nick attempt to move past her secrets but may have crossed a line. Lara is still worried about her secret and whether or not the ultimate finale may involve it.

there's definitely some excitement in this world. there is a sex scene that I think. It was more like 15 year old in the back seat then to Adult concentrating. Main character acting all stupid. Also you don't take that with me they would have
