When Brody Morgan comes back to Clifton from Butte, it’s because his life is in turmoil. He slept with a married woman, lost his US Marshal job, and is firmly implanted in the crosshairs of a mobster that is out for blood. Not only that, but the woman he’s always loved, Madilyn Young, isn’t too happy with him either, since he left her five years earlier to join the Marshals. But none of that matters now. Brody is back, and determined to turn his life around. That will all start with Maddie—if she’ll even speak to him, that is. And then there’s the little matter of the mobster, the husband of the woman from Brody’s past. Will he be the one who brings Brody and Maddie closer together, or will he tear them apart forever?

I've read the first two books in this series and they were great. The last better than the first, the story distinct from each other even with the same setting but Brody's story. it was good but it kind of fell short to expectations. Brody goes away leaves the love of his life behind but comes back when his job doesn't work out. Madilyn the woman who refused to go with him feels slighted even though it was her own fault. But everything works out, quicker than the norm but I was glad for that. I really don't like it when guys apologies when the woman is at fault.
Then a horror from Brody's past is introduced and even that ends quicker than normal. I guess what I'm saying is I wasn't given time to get immersed in the story and the characters because it all went by too fast. Maybe if the reconciliation and the threat were concurrent, plus a litle back story it would have been more engaging. It felt more like a rest stop before the real story in the subsequent stories.
But I still love this series and I'm looking forward to the next books especially Sam's and Wyatt's stories.
I couldn't wait to read this book, book 3 in a series of sexy as hell men and the women who catch them..lol. I think this series is great and can't wait to read book 4. Although this book is not one of my favorites in the series it is still intriguing, mysterious and oh so sexy. Brody is sexy as hell, he's been gone five years, five long years after leaving his home town and the women he loves but now he's back for more reasons then one. Maddie never stopped loving Brody but she doesn't know if he was the only one to blame for them being apart of those five years. I love how he reaches our to Maddie to talk and re kindle what they lost, I love how Maddie wants so badly to be with Brody but she doesn't want to get hurt again then Brody's trouble he left behind found him and terrorizes Maddie. I enjoyed this story, Love how all the friends rally together and of course sparks fly between some of the characters I cannot wait to have their own stories. Another great story by Susan Fisher Davis. 3.5 to 4 stars review by Nanee at upallnightreadallday.blogspot.com
Brody was a great book, really enjoyed reading it. Love the relationship between Maddie and Brody. They were able to get back together even after his having left her behind years ago. The fact that he had a crazy man after coming after him and then Maddie getting kidnapped by a that same crazy man. It was a very intense book and was a real page turner. I give this book 5 stars.

A copy of this title was received in exchange for an honest review.
Brody is an ex US Marshall come back to his small hometown to become a deputy. Madilyn is the girl he left behind when he left to become a Marshall and she hasn't forgiven him yet. The story moves along rather quickly so don't sit down because you'll never catch up. LOL Brody's time as a Marshall catches up with him in his hometown when a mobster follows him home. Between the mobster and the main characters, they all provide enough twists and turns to keep the story interesting.
The main characters are well developed. There are quite a few secondary characters in the story that aren't as well developed but looks like they all get their own stories in this Men of Clifton series. The scenes are set fairly well. Not great but enough to give you an idea of where the characters are. The story is well written and easy to read.
This is the third book of the series but can be read as a stand alone and does have an HEA.

I loved this book. The story of Brody and Madilyn is intriguing. The author keeps you interested from the very beginning and throughout the whole read. It would played out in my head just like a movie and kept me wanting more until the very end. It was a very suspenseful and romantic read. I was given an ARC for my honest review.

This is a story of young lovers Brody and Madilyn. When Madilyn's dad gets killed she doesn't want Brody to be in law enforcement. But Brody wants to get out of Clifton so he joins the U.S. Marshals and asks her to go with him she refuses to go with him. When something happens and Brody returns to Clifton. Maddie is so upset. This story is such a great written story of how how you can overcome the past and more towards the future. Will Maddie and Brody let love back in or will Brody's past catch up to him and destroy what the have found in one another?
I seriously love Susan Fisher-Davis's books! I'm not a huge fan of third person point of view, I can read it and I would never judge a book based off of it, but it usually takes a little while longer for me to get into it because I don't feel an instant connection with the characters the way I do when I'm in their heads in a first person point of view book. With that being said, I do not have that problem with these books at all! I get sucked right in and they flow so well. I feel connected to the characters and the storyline. I just love the author's writing style. That's sort of a blanket statement for all of Susan Fisher-Davis's books I've read so far (Jake, Lucas, Gabe, and Brody).
So Brody and Madilyn? Loved them! I was dying to read more of them after being briefly introduced to the characters in Gabe. In fact, I paused the rest of my TBR list so I could read up on them! I simply couldn't wait. I love second chance romances and this was a great one. Something else I love about this author's books...there is good drama, and it's resolved quickly. It's not drawn out and angsty. It makes for a much more enjoyable read, for me anyway. I just can't get enough of her books and I need more now!!
Brody is book three in the Men of Clifton, Montana Series and is a really enjoyable read. The best thing about books written by Susan Fisher Davis is that I can lose myself in her descriptions. The writing is definitely on point, the characters are pleasant and the storyline was interesting. Madilyn and Brody have history together. They both thought they were always going to be together, but Brody left and Madilyn couldn't follow him. Brody comes back and all their feelings for each other come to surface. Brody didn't come back alone though, nope...he brought trouble and this kind of trouble is deadly. This book will have you swiping the pages at a fast rate, trying to figure out if Brody and Madilyn will ever get their HEA. If you love second chance romances definitely give this a go.
This is the third book in the Men of Clifton Montana series, and its my least favorite. After all of the angst that the heroine had been through for five years, I thought she took him back too easily after a simple "I apologise". I didn't see the point of having the guy she'd been dating suddenly morph into not just a jerk, which might have been understandable when she broke things off, considering how long they'd been dating, but to stalk and attack her. And in this third installment of the series, I think the whole danger drama is getting to be too much, plus there's no way a sheriff would have agreed to totally overlook protocol in that way.
Susan Fisher-Davis has become one of favorite new authors - never disappointed one-clicking to preorder her books.
BRODY is another one of those books. Brody and Madilyn let their chance of love slip through their fingers when they were younger. But now Brody is back and they both realize that they never stopped loving each other. Such sweet characters and story - always glad for HEA's.
Love the Men of Clifton Series - my list of book boyfriends continues to grow with each book.
Second chances. They're hard to get and easy to blow when you don't understand their importance. This is the premise of the book and is dealt with in such a beautifully passionate way by Susan Fisher-Davis. With a nail-biting subplot, Brody is a thoroughly enjoyable read, and fits perfectly in this amazing series.
This was different to the last 2 books in this series but just as good! Susan Fisher-Davis has created such a different range of characters in this series that you as a reader feel you are in that town watching these stories unfold. Love these books and as you can see I'm making my way through them one by one. This is a series you have to read!
This just proves that true love lasts a life time. Madilyn and Brody have been in love for a long time. When Brody takes a job without discussing it with Madilyn, their relationship comes to an abrupt end. Now Brody is back in town. Can the two keep their feelings a secret? Will true love really prevail? Moving on to the next book
Loved it!!! Brody has a different edge since he is a lawman and not a cowboy like the Stone bros but still rugged and a bad boy with a Harley!!! I love my bikers!!! Susan is a great story teller!!! I just love her work!!! well done again!!!!
I very much enjoyed this book!! It was well written and got my attention right away!! I love the relationship between Brody and Madilyn. Can't wait to start the next book in the series, Wyatt!!!!
WOW!!!! This is the first series that I have read Susan's books and I loved the series!!!! All the characters are strong but work well together... I would recommend this book to everyone!!!!
Brody was everything Madilyn ever wanted. She thought they were get married, have the babies and the white picket fence. Until one night he broke her heart, everything changed for her. Years later, he's back and he still makes her heart beat faster.
I liked this book. I feel like Brody and Madilyn weren't quite ready the first time around for each other. They both needed to do what they needed and wanted to before they could get their happily ever after.
I understood the anger between the two of them but after awhile Madilyn's argument seemed to grow old. I'm glad they were able to talk things out and get that HEA that they deserve.
I chose this rating because this was actually a pretty great book. I enjoyed pretty much all of the characters. This was a book of protection, compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, understanding and also falling deeper in love. I really enjoyed it Brody and Madelyn story. I think the author did an excellent job putting these characters together. Is what was will written and I love the way that both characters came back together after separation for a long time. Great read! I recommend this book to all cowboy lovers and romance readings.
This was great. The drama of him leaving her and returning. The he she finally realized if she had not been so stubborn they could have been together along time ago. Then to throw a loop in it another woman dies and her husband comes for revenge. This was great writing. I couldn't put the book down. I was on the edge of my seat. My tablet went dead. I needed to charge it. That's the only reason it took me today to finish the story. To Susan I'll start the next book today. I'm looking forward to the 4th book.
Wow this was a great book . Brody decide change career ,without talking to his friend about , Yes he ask her to leave him but , she was hurting her father was kill, and her man wants to become US Marshal, so he leave with out looking back. But there some people looking for him because Of thing that happen , excellent book I enjoyed it, 💯📕👍🏽
Her father had been killed during a stop by a crook and she was terrified her boyfriend would end up dead also. When he signed up for the us marshalls she refused to accept it and refused to go with him. He left anyway and was gone for five years. When he came back it was as a deputy sheriff. She finally forgave him and took him back. Everything was great until his past came back. Enjoy
I really enjoyed Maddie and Brody story. I loved the suspense in this book. I really enjoyed these 2 characters as well as Sam and Katie. Lots of laughs in the story was well.
