Danny Keeton, now 18, has been promoted and is now responsible for leading his friends into battle. The excitement of rank is immediately tempered with a grim responsibility. The weight of leadership weighs heavily on Danny, until the big push begins and his unit are captured by the Germans.
Forced to toil in the prisoner of war camps in Germany, Danny believes their capture is his fault. Within days, he begins to plan an escape under the eyes of the starving and increasingly desperate Germans.
Will Danny manage to survive until November 1918?

Remember to check out my original Made in Yorkshire series, where you can meet the offspring of many of the characters featured here. It all starts with 1964 (Made in Yorkshire Book 1), which you can own for free today!
James Farner is a professional writer and draws upon his love of fiction and his love of stories that span generations. His signature series Made in Yorkshire was born out of a desire to find out ‘what happened next?’
At the end of every good film, book, or TV show the characters disappear and that’s the end of them. James isn’t alone in the desire to find out what happened to the characters afterwards.
This is how Made in Yorkshire appeared. Starting from 1953 and driving on to the modern day, James explores the different eras of Britain through his colourful cast of characters.
Prior to writing fiction, he enjoyed a career as a freelance writer. His writing has appeared online, in magazines, and in a variety of other publications.
When not writing, he can be found sketching, watching sports, and playing the tin whistle.
Great book!! I only wish I had the talent that appears throughout this book. The author wrote allowed the reader to predict what would happen next. Most of my predictions were wrong, but this made the book much more enjoyable for me, the reader.a
Read all 5 books 1914 - 1918 tells the tale of a family of brothers from Leeds, during the first World War. It pulls no punches describing the conditions at the front and at Home. If you like historical fiction mixed with fact, you'll like this series of 5 books!
The final book of the series. The War is over and the Keenan twins survived the war to end all wars. This book competed the series in an excellent manner. The brothers are ready to get on with their lives. I highly recommend reading the series in order for anyone who enjoys good well written historical fiction.
