For years, Grayson had watched Scarlett grow up. At first, there had just been a connection, something that drew the two of them together. But as the small girl grew into a beautiful woman, he knew that over the years, he’d fallen in love with her.
And then she’d asked him to teach her how to attract a man! If any of his competitors knew what a soft spot he had for this woman, he’d have to destroy them. But there it was. He could crush his competition without breaking a sweat, but he couldn’t deny Scarlett when she asked him for help.
Scarlett had loved Grayson since she was a young teenager, and the feeling had only grown stronger as the years had passed. But every time she’d decided that she was going to tell him about her feelings, the man had yet another paramour on his arm. She hated him and loved him…and had no idea how to break out of this painful cycle. How could she convince him that she could love him better than all of those silly women? Or failing that, how could she move on with her life?

Her male lead characters are smart, driven and determined, but can still be sensitive and vulnerable. Elizabeth’s female lead characters come from a variety of backgrounds. Although she wanted to be a romance novelist since the eighth grade, that dream only became a reality for her in 2009 and a full time job in 2012. Along the way, she received a BS in History and held different jobs in the real estate, government consulting, and financial industries. All during that time, though, she was always writing, using her personal experiences, dreams, and travels throughout the United States, Europe and the Caribbean as backdrops for her stories. To date, she has written over eighty books and sold over 5.1 million copies. Her free novellas have been downloaded over 8 million times since 2013.
Elizabeth lives in Virginia with her husband and two children. Their home is just outside of Washington, D.C., and many of her novels are set in this area.
I liked this book but the characters did get on my nerves a bit, I found Scarlett a bit immature and I think it would have been better if she actually did date someone else rather than pining over the H Grayson who was referred to as an alpha kind of character but I saw no proof and I'm pleased and surprised that there was no ow in the book. Scarlett was mostly doing all the chasing with a little help from their group of friends so the chemistry I was expecting wasn't there and the ending I thought was a little rushed, I did like the novella though at the end of the book.
Grayson is thinking he can't possibly reach out to Scarlett, not believing anyone in their close knit group would approve, including Scarlett. Scarlett, never seeing any evidence that Grayson thinks of her as anything but like a sister, keeps her feelings for him deeply hidden. Two people who are crazy about each other, completely clueless about the other's thoughts and feelings. Years... long years this continues. How do either of them meet in the middle? One of them will have to have greater courage.
The long awaited story of star crossed lovers in this series was not as impressive as I would have expected. These two didn't seem to connect with me. I had more fun reading about them in the other books than here.
Elizabeth Lennox – Boarding School Series The Tycoon’s Captured Heart (5) 3 ½ Stars. Writing worthy of 4 ½ but the book had typo errors.
In the final installment we finally get to focus on Grayson and Scarlett’s story. Throughout the series, Grayson and Scarlett have danced around each other with Grayson thinking he is not good enough and too old for her and Scarlett being a virgin believes that she is not good enough for such a successful billionaire and was too shy to tell Grayson how she feels. Each time she worked up the nerve to talk with Grayson he was with another Mistress or one-night stands.
The story picks up after the funeral of Uncle Charles and Scarlett is feeling truly alone. Uncle Charles was the last of her relative and how was she going to live without her uncle in her life. Grayson was asked by the “group” to stay with Scarlett so she won’t be alone and when he agreed she is glad to have his company. After all, the “group” and Uncle Charles knew they loved each other but Grayson nor Scarlett didn’t see it.
Can the “Group” help these two find their HEA or are they doomed to keep missing the mark?
As a bonus, we get to witness Daniel, Sierra's brother from book 2 find his HEA. A great story.
So these books are smut and sooooooo predicable but come on -- no one reads for them for the intellectual stimulation. This series comes to an end with this book and is by far the shortest in the series. Was it worth $2.99, nah, not really. Would I still read it, yah probably.
Grayson Brooks has known Scarlett Evans since she was five and he was fifteen. She had loved Grayson since she was a teenager and as she grew into a woman, he fell in love with her. As the years passed, every time she wanted to tell him how she felt, he had a new woman on his arm. When her beloved Uncle died, Grayson finally took a chance and seduced Scarlett. The next day, he is cold. Scarlett asks him to help teach her how to attract a man. Grayson finally admits to himself that he loves Scarlett, but after how he left her, can he win her love?
Grayson and Scarlett finally got their HEA! It was a great short story. I have been waiting for Grayson's story since I read the introduction to the series. The only thing I wish was there was more of a backstory for Grayson. There is a novella at the end of the book that wraps up the series quite nicely.
I have been so waiting for Scarlett and Grayson's story and finally it is here. Elizabeth Lennox was so smart to save the best for last. But now I am sad that I feel like I am going to be missing old friends. This was definitely the best book of the series. Scarlett thinks Grayson only thinks of her as a little kid sister and she is in love with him. Grayson thinks Scarlett would think he is old and could only love him as a brother. Course everyone else ...in all the past books included have seen the love these two have for each other, Grab the last book in The Boarding School Series and say goodbye to Uncle Charles and and see what if Scarlett and Grayson every open up their eyes and hearts to love.
This book was worth the wait for it. A perfect end to the Boarding School Series it was full of humor, heat, sexual tension, and emotion. There were times when I just wanted to bang Grayson and Scarlett's heads together and tell them to get a clue, but I loved the book all the same. It was a little shorter than I would have liked but I guess you can't have everything you want in life. I would recommend this series (in order) to anyone who enjoys easy-to-read HEA love stories. I can't wait to read "His Unexpected Protege" to find out what happened to Daniel from Harrison and Sierra's book "The Duke's Blackmailed Bride"!
Waited a long time for Scarlett & Grayson's story and have to say I was not disappointed. I have read many book series from many authors and have to say this series was one of my favs.
The love, strength and support shared by these special friends is felt in every book. I am happy to have the last be Scarlett & Grayson's story....It could have gone on and on and I would have been thrilled to keep reading.
This book was my least favorite of the series. From the start Scarlett got on my last nerves with her insecurity and immaturity. I had to put the book down and then go back to it two days later just because I hate leaving things unfinished and I paid my money. I know women have doubts sometimes but that was just overbearing and annoying.
Anyway, I enjoyed Daniel and Elle's story at the end of Scarlett and Grayson's. It mellowed out my frustration from the previous story.
This book was very good. This is the last book in the Boarding House series and I totally liked the whole series. Grayson and Scarlett are in this final book and they are in love with each other but neither one knows it but everyone around them does...Its really quite funny at times but also sad as they do fight a lot and hurt each other instead of just talking with each other. I highly recommend this series.
I have read all the books in this series, I absolutely was going crazy for this book to be released. How two characters with this amount of attraction did not get together already was beyond me. The story does have them confronting their issues with each other and Grayson finally gave in ( thank goodness) .
The book also completes the series with the couples from the line that I loved. There was a follow up to each relationship, which I thoroughly enjoyed.
I simply loved this story. Need I say it might be that this is the best in this awesome series. While there is a formula each story is so appealing as a standalone. What a joy to see this couple have their HEA. Plus the bonus story of Daniel was amazing. I can hardly wait for the next series but this series may be my all time favorite.
I absolutely love Elizabeth Lennox stories. I have enjoyed reading this whole series, and I look forward to reading the next one too. I highly recommend the entire series.
